Hey all, Yesterday my forearm got tattoeed after 5/6 years of no tattoos. This made me compare my tattoo with my old one. I noticed there is relatively much fading (see the photo). It made me wonder how much the tattoo will fade more the years to come. Will it stay pretty much the same or will it go noticeably downhill from here? Do y'all recommend a touch up and if so, will one touch up do the trick for the years to come? Love to hear what everybody thinks.

Hey guys, I'll add a pic later in the thread but I recently got a bicep tattoo, 3 days ago, decent size (a cover-up) and my bi-cep is the size of a ham. I had a similar experience with my forearm. Anyone else experience this?

Hey everyone. I'm just wondering if anyone knows how tattoos with no black in them look after a few years. I know it's generally frowned upon, but if it's a darker color (blue for example) would it last? Something like the picture I attached. I have no intention of getting anything like this by the way, I'm just curious as to how they hold up long term.

There are so many anyone have good suggestions?

Hey everyone, so I've been wanting to get a "Death Before Dishonor" dagger tattoo on my forearm for a while now. But I'd like to know a bit more about the history of it first. I've noticed it has military connotations but is it specifically a military tattoo? As I am not now nor have I ever been in the military it wouldn't feel right having a military tattoo. I can't find that much about it online so if anyone can help me out I'd appreciate it.

Hey everyone, so I got a moth tattoo recently, done in 2 sessions. The first was the outline and some shading, the second was color. It's healing up nicely but I've got a question about the line work on it. The first time around most of the lines came out fine, particularly the wings, but when my artist got to the jawbones/body of the moth some of the lines were a little shaky. So when I went back in for color he fixed them, but now they're thicker than the rest of the lines and still a bit shaky. It really doesn't bother me much, it's just that I spend so much time looking at them I can't help but notice. Any advice on what to do? Leave it alone, or have him try to even everything out? On a side note, and this may sound weird but whereas before little imperfections like this used to bother me I've actually started to like them. It gives the tattoo a kind of "crudeness" for lack of a better word, that I like. Maybe I'm just going crazy And lastly how does it look overall? Any advice on little tweaks that would improve it? I've been wanting to add more around it but I can't seem to figure out what. Sorry for the long post. Thanks everyone.

Hi everyone. So I've been trying to think of stufff i could add around my moth tattoo. I don't like all the empty space around it, but due to the shape of it I can't think of anything that would fit well. My first idea was roses, but if anyone has any suggestions they'd be much appreciated.

Hey everyone, I'm thinking of getting a small (about an inch around) tattoo to fill a gap between tattoos that bothers me I'm thinking something along the lines of what's in the picture, but would love to hear some ideas.

Just picked up my copy of Marked in Ink: A Tattoo Coloring Book On the back of the book it reads "Tattoo artist Megan Massacre invites adult coloring book fans into her whimsical world of sugar skulls, sailing ships, mermaids, owls, and more. Now you can add your own bold, vibrant colors to her signature edgy and artistic tattoo designs--and tear each perforated page out for display!" About the Author (from the book) "MEGAN MASSACRE is a tattoo artist, model, and reality TV star of TLC's NY Ink and tattoo cover-up series America's Worst Tattoos. Best known for her incredible attention to detail and vibrant use of color, Megan’s artwork has been exhibited at galleries both inside and outside of the tattoo world. Megan resides in New York, where she is a partner at Grit N Glory, the city's first rock ’n’ roll lifestyle boutique and tattoo studio. She enjoys traveling the world and hiking, and she is always aspiring to find that new, great challenge." Megan Massacre's Marked In Ink Coloring book features 40 tattoo inspired hand drawn images from the artist Megan Massacre, if you like her work then this is a good buckshot collection of it. . Each page is one-sided, heavy stock paper to help prevent the bleed through of ink and suitable markers pens, colored pencils and crayons.. what have you. Each page has a perforated edge for easy removal if desired which is nice feature to keep the rest of your book binding in one piece otherwise. I am happy to see actual Tattooers doing tattoo coloring books, because the non-tattooer coloring books are generally awful, badly drawn collections of trendy images. There is a whole section of the bookstore now devoted to these adult coloring books on various themes, but the usually the artists they pick to do them are probably family or something, do not know how they go the job otherwise. Anyway just picked it up yesterday, read a review in INKED about it and found a copy at the local books store, wanted to say congratulations on it!!! Way to go Megan for putting this out there. Did you see this book or have a copy and what do you think? I can see a coloring book contest being integrated into tattoo conventions in the future, lol.

Hi everyone Am a tattoo enthusiast since a couple of months and looking for an awesome idea for my first tattoo. :) Also I'm working on an app exactly for tattoo enthusiasts. Would love to get some feedback from you here what you think is important in an app like that or what you would want to see in it (PS: if you want would like to be an early tester, you can sign up at the link for updates/information about the launch). Some additional questions that really interest me to start a conversation: - How do you find inspiration/ideas for another tattoo? - Where did you get the idea for your current tattoo? - Where do you get your daily tattoo news/content from (apart of this forum)? - How do you organize different ideas for your next tattoo? For example bookmarks? Best, Chris

Hello everyone I'm considering on getting my first tattoo pretty soon. I want to get it on my upper right arm or behind my right shoulder. I work out, and I'm still a bit small in arm size since I'm kind of a small guy. And I have heard from people that once you get your tattoo depending where it is it can get morphed because of stretching, gaining weight, etc. But is any of that true? Haha, I want to get a tattoo and continue to work out and get my arms bigger, would it be a bad idea and mess up how my tattoo ends up looking after I get it and a few months of the gym?

Hello everyone, So basically i got this tattoo, and it was a massive mistake that i haven't checked the spelling before getting it and the guy who did it dont know any English, so it turned out really badly. So maybe someone could suggest something, how i can blend one of the 'b' into another tattoo. Thank you in forward. And by the way, if you're trying to insult me, save your time and just dont do that, i would appreciate that.

Glad to see forum communities like these exist. I work at a museum and the spare time that I do have I usually draw or photo a lot of graffiti for local graffiti artists. I didn't really get into tattoo's til around 2004 sometime. It had grown on me over the years. I love tattoos. I've met some of the most amazing and talented people who do tattoos in Detroit, New York and @ many Tattoo Conventions. I love art all kinds it's just awesome forums like this is around.

Hi everyone Just wanted to say a quick hello, I'm just beginning a career in the tattoo field and feel so privileged at the opportunity to join this very special family. I'm the personal assistant to an amazing artist here in Chicago. We travel a lot and frequent conventions but starting to branch out solo sans shop. As I continue to legitimize my artist and make the leap into so many of the new outlets for not only his tattoo work but also art work I'd really appreciate advice from people who have been there already. Just set up an Instagram and etsy shop but really interested in submitting flash to magazines and websites but a little unsure how all that works. Anyway, enough rattling. Hello and thank you for reading! Mina

Tattoos Derail Some Immigrants' Green Cards - WSJ.com Hector Villalobos, who is seeking a green card, was asked by a U.S. official whether some of his tattoos are linked to gangs, his lawyers said. In December, Hector Villalobos traveled from Colorado to his native Mexico for an interview, part of his application for U.S. permanent residency. Mr. Villalobos expected to be gone a couple of months to complete the process. Seven months later, U.S. consular officers haven't allowed the 37-year-old handyman to return home to his wife and three children. The problem: tattoos—some associated with violent Mexican gangs—on Mr. Villalobos's body. (cont'd)

Hello, I found this pretty cool stop motion video in three parts on youtube for a half sleeve 'nerd' tattoo described as follows: *I didn't want to just do a one-off thread, so thought to just title it 'Tattoos on Video' so other people might want to post similar videos, if they like. I am not sure, but I do not think it has any real 'how-to' applications to it. If so, apologies and please feel free to remove.
