This is for tattooers that have hand tattoos. I'm getting my hand tattooed soon and was curious how the healing and swelling will affect my tattooing. I'm getting tattooed the first day of a show and thought I might try and put it off until after so I could work but wasn't sure. Will wearing gloves and sweating in them fuck it up pretty good? I'm assuming it would. Any answers would be much appreciated.

Ok so maybe I'm just a little self-conscience about this. But I got this tattoo back in January and I get a lot of compliments on it. But lately for some reason when I look at it sometimes I wonder if it's like a tattoo you see on someone else and your like 'that looks really bad, I wouldn't go to that artist.' I don't know what it is. To me it kind of looks blotchy, like it's just there, especially in the sun light.. Maybe it's because my skin is so pale. What do you guys think? Do I need to get it touched up or something?

First off, I apologise if there is already a 'hand tattoo' thread (palm tattoos & knuckles I could find), but damn it, after a really solid search I can't find shiet. SO, I figured I'd start this one, and then if there is another one then Mods by all means please move and/or delete thread. Also when I say 'hands' I'm talking the top of said hands, or fingers or chuck knuckles in here as well (the knuckle thread I could find, but hey if your feeling lazy feel free to drop them here) :cool: Posted in another thread but this is what inspired this one. What is your opinion on tattoos and the work place? Are there certain careers where the visibility of a tattoo should matter or should it never matter? What are your thoughts around tattoos and professionalism? Do they go hand in hand? Or is it the performance of the individual that should be the bottom line? What has been your experience around tattoos and the work place? What is the location, city, that this experience has taken place?
