Wondering if anyone else went to a halloween flash event this year? I'd love to see people's experiences and what they got done! Below are my vampire teeth, first arm tattoo on the inside of the bicep. Done by Shannon at Man's Ruin Tattoo in St Kilda, VIC Australia.

Not sure if this the right place to do this or not, but I wil do it anyhow. I was wondering if any of you had been tattooed by Higgs. That was one of my big regrets, I would love to have some of his work. I have a couple of friends who have, but there are not a lot of pictures on the internet of his work and I would love to see more of it. One of the shops I go to has a couple sheets of his flash and I think it is pretty awesome. Kenny

ok, i still have a few copies from the last run of my first 2 sketchbooks, 'pirated, passe, and politically incorrect' vol 1 and 2. if i remember correct they are 45 or 50 pages of clean line drawings. mostly neo-traditional hipster shit and original style traditional stuff. the new book is at the printer right now. 'street and state vacation' its just what it sounds like, old school prison and lowrider/teen angel stuff sorta like the style i came up on way back in the day but drawn a little bit better... same deal, all images are clean line drawings, not loose sketches. this book should be somewhere around 80-90 pages and is crammed full of cool stuff. first 2 books are $20 a piece plus the ride, new big ass book is $30 plus the ride. if you like shoot me an email and ill be happy to send you a few pages as a sample. [email protected] or shoot me a text at (714)588-7394

Picked up the new Chris Garver coloring book (for my reference library) at the book store. Titled: FLASH coloring in the Tattoo style. "Cool tattoo art to color from an in-demand tattoo celebrity! Flash, a follow-up to the wildly successful Color Odyssey, presents even more of Chris Garver’s gorgeous designs. As a sought-after figure in the tattoo world, Chris is a perfect choice to bring together tattoo art and adult coloring—and this book perfectly showcases his distinct and detailed style. With images printed on single-sided pages, this book will attract both traditional coloring fans and tattoo devotees looking for ideas for their next inking." FYI About the Author Chris Garver is a professional tattoo artist at the world-renowned Invisible NYC on New York City’s Lower East Side. He is also a former star of TLC’s popular reality show Miami Ink. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, Chris began experimenting with tattooing at the age of 17 before attending Manhattan’s School of Visual Arts. He has been a full-time professional tattoo artist since moving to New York in his early 20s I think this a great introduction to the art, for the plain skins. Though I take issue with the term "Tattoo Style" I can understand why he put that on the cover. It is a coloring book, with Tattoo related and familiar imagery contained within, so I get it. When flipping through the book, I found myself thinking, dagn, I would wear that...and that! Congratulations to Chris Garver on his second book. 100 pages with perforated pages so you can tear a page out and color it. I recommend picking up a copy. So LSTF Did you get one and what do you think about it?

In the past year I've started drawing my own tattoo flash. I joined in hopes of getting some constructive criticism. I'm currently using pigment liners and Prismacolor markers, although I'm wanting to get into watercolors. I've attached some of my work in this thread. You can also see more on my Instagram account @anvilandanchor. Thanks, Andy

2012 is the year of the dragon and after spending the Chinese New Year in Asia I thought it would be pretty cool to get a tattoo momento of the trip. I was looking at getting a dragon in the traditional american style but apart from some sailor jerry flash (which is kickass and I'm leaning towards getting) I can't find many other flash references apart from the odd one or two. Can anybody help me out? Sailor Jerry Col Todd
