Thread starter, this is gonna be one of those things like your parents told you when you were a teenager that you didn't believe at the time but down the road, realized "shit they were right" There is a very hard to define point where you turn from a tourist with a couple of tattoos into a tattooed person, and you can only get there by getting tattooed A LOT and living the lifestyle. If you ever DO get there, you'll remember this thread with some chagrin. I too have a cushy college admin job, and I've had it for 11 years with sleeves visible, stretched ears, etc - everyone I work with sees me as I am because I can't and won't hide it. I kinda hate the job, but I respect the $$ it provides.

the no drinking thing has primarily been a filter for obnoxious drunks in my experience- Ive had a couple shots beforehand several times (artists were friends, knew it etc) and its nice...I had a lortab beforehand once (had my wisdom teeth out the day before) and it kinda made it worse, like i never got the endorphins, maybe I was ust too ground down to be tattooed

I got tattooed by Tim a few months ago, awesome dude and his drawing has a very whimsical sense of humor- Ive been emailing back and forth with Ken (who I met when I was getting work from Tim on their 'bus tour') about doing a big cowboy piece- can't wait

One of my oldest tattoos, from '96. I've got 2 of them in the usual swallow position pardon the beard

BHR is very high up on my list...I've never seen a bad tattoo from him and his western aesthetic is right up my alley...I'm jealous

its been a few years....2005 I believe as Energon was the last line I picked up. I made a decent profit on my G1/Japanese collection and took a bath on the rest to the tune of a couple grand, ouch I've been thinking about it and the only collection I have these days is artist business cards

I used to collect toys- I had almost every Transformer ever made and a ton of prototypes too...sold them all after I realized it was an obsession and I didnt so much enjoy it as felt like I had to... I've also had huge amounts of guitar equipment but I'm down to 2 guitars and a Roland JC and some effects that I never use anymore

Hello, my name is John, people call me JB, I'm from Roanoke VA. I'm 34 years old and have been getting tattooed for 15 years... I'm an IT admin at a small private school. I'm also HFA (high functioning autistic) so I walk about with a blank face and dont really socialize outside of the tattoo world, where strangely I've become comfortable, probably because I've felt accepted. I bike alot on an old modded Trek 700 and am really into ancient astronaut theory and esoteric history. Aside from that, I have a wife (who has superior tattoos), 5 cats, and watch alot of bollywood and play too many video games. bonus pic:

I don't think I will ever do my head or face because I just cant visualize myself that way, but thats probably the only off limits thing besides junk. I actually really like chin moko but I'm a fat white american so I know its not for me haha

i start using palmer's shea butter about a week on, maybe 2 times a day, for the next couple of weeks and it works pretty good...I usually just wash it the first week

I use this stuff: Amazon.com: Water Jel Burn Jel, For Fast Relief of Minor Burns 4 fl oz (118 ml): Health & Personal Care I use EMLA when I get zapped- it barely lasts thru the 5 min session but it definitely helps you sack up and get it over with
