  1. I love the color pallet for that. Healed real nice, although it looked funky while flaking.
  2. He avoids the cone as long as he doesn't lick or chew his wounds.
  3. Up and around a bit now. After not moving for over 12 hours. He has eaten, drank, and peed.
  4. Thanks, all! He is home now and still sleeping off the sedation (and snoring). After carrying him four times today, I realize that I really need to work on strength training! (58 lbs). He's sutured and bandaged and as soon as the sedative wears off must wear the "cone of shame" for 10 - 14 days. Several fairly big wounds were cleaned an left open. Also has two drains that have to come out Saturday.
  5. Rocky, our daughter's dog, was attacked by a pack this morning and we had to take him in for emergency suturing and a drainage tube. We can bring him home this evening. I suspect the pack is actually a bunch of dogs that hick neighbors just leave running free and feed about once a week. One of my tattoos is a heart like the one on Rocky's ear.
  6. I think that if it starts out great, it will age great. If it starts out marginal..... it won't get better.
  7. We have many wild blackberrys, and a bunch of rasberrys that are either wild or spread from a long-ago resident in the area (story goes that the hermit/mountain man that owned this side of the mountain had a brother living with him who was an amateur horticulturist. There are evergreens around where his cabin stood that are not native to the area. All bushes seemed full and near ripe one day, stripped bare the next. I suspect lot's of critters with belly aches. Devious, we have huckleberrys up in the mountains. 1/3 the size of blueberrys and 3X the flavor! Problem is, there are natives that love them, too. And right about the time the berrys ripen, those natives are very hungry! One person picks while the other stands lookout.
  8. I'm a big fan of Gold Bond Ultimate Healing with aloe, unscented. Not greasy, and most important to me no smell. I enjoy pleasant aromas, but most perfumes used in these products trigger asthma-like reactions in me.
  9. I would also comment that we might be thankful for them raising us to not have the same hangups that they were given.

    Hello

Also, legal age for tattoo in Kentucky is 18.
  11. As I've said in a previous post, I would love for my mom and dad to see my tattoos. Whether they liked them or not. But I lost dad in '78 and mom in '93. Make peace as you can, because they won't be here to love or hate these peripheral things some day.

    Hey!

You want text in a language that you don't understand? Why not just get random marks?
  13. You can deposit them in the Gallery and then link to them here. After you put them there, when posting look below where it sez "Insert other media", then select "insert existing attachment" and select what you want. Or, you can post direct from your HDD (I think) using the "Drag files here to attach. or choose files... "
  14. What has been shitty for some ended up pretty awesome for me. Yesterday was told that due to business changes, my position has been eliminated (I don't like that term). BUT! I don't end employment until Sept 30, 2017 (the day I had planned to retire)! AND, I get a very nice severance package that includes 6 months COBRA (health insurance). I can't think of anything that I've done to be so blessed in life, but I'm sure not complaining. Many have not been so lucky, and I sure feel for them.
  15. And, as I have learned - NOTHING can be done to change a tattoo "ASAP" except maybe a cover-up.
  16. Wow! What a route! Hope Nashville wasn't too much culture shock for you. Although, it is a very broad melt of people there these days. I love that city.

    I'm Ern.

I think that even I was more mature than this at 30.
  18. I like all of the seasons, just hate snow and ice. I guess summer is my favorite since I get the most motorcycle riding in, but Spring and Fall riding are usually more enjoyable. The only summer that I hated was the one I spent in upstate New York. Nothing was air conditioned and we couldn't even find a fan to buy (all sold out) back in '73.
  19. If you pay into health insurance at all, you should be covered through the end of the month. Use it!
  20. I'd welcome most any reincarnation, now that the Tapatalk "like" works again. If I had an awesome enough new piece to enter, I'd just wait until the start of the next month.
  21. My one tattoo that I don't love (in process of laser reduction to redo) was one that I had put a lot of thought, research, even buying line and taking photos to make examples for the artist. He did a crap job on me. Seemed like he didn't care or was pissed or something. When I went back he was real defensive and ended up making it worse. The first laser blast looks to have removed most of his "fix", but I don't think I could ever get the deep blown lines from the first session out. I was reviewing some photos of what it looked like after that first session. I should have known not to go back (and this is a shop owner). Lesson learned: walk away if not 100% satisfied with the stencil, and if the tattoo doesn't look done well, don't expect the same guy to improve it!
