  1. I had been following your progress on another forum. Great so see so much progress. You have a beautiful piece, there!
  2. Nobody prays? Can't say I have a ritual (this is only my 3rd), don't want the preamble to be like my first - I was rear-ended on the way! I plan to just eat an early lunch of fast food on the way (noon appointment). I guess Sonic would be my common thing, that's where I've eaten before the previous two, and there is one in front of my artist's shop for this one, too! Probably top off lunch with a shake. No drugs have been needed before, hope none this time but I'll take ibuprofen if there is swelling. My biggest concern is that my favorite sports team (UK) is playing their arch-rival (UL) at the same time as my appointment. Wonder if Kris has a TV in the shop? Otherwise, maybe the ESPN app if they have wifi.
  3. If you are making that your home, let me suggest you check out One Churchhttp://www.thatonechurch.org/ that meets at the Northpark Mall Cinema. A very cool, inviting, open community of folk there! custom tapatalk sig goes here
  4. Your skin, your money. You are the CUSTOMER and he makes no money not satisfying them. Even divas gotta sing the songs they are handed. Send the email!

    Hi all

Nice, clean designs. I don't plan to collect, either. I have my third scheduled for the 27th. A faked line on my right forearm. Thinking it might be my last, but then maybe a cameo with a silhouette that looks like my wife on my left shoulder....
  6. I agree, although Jason did some very bad work (remember the Empire State Building?) through the competition that really should have eliminated him a month or more ago. Still, he did a very good new school oriental cartoon on the lady. Clean should have used a 426 hemi instead of the skull!
  7. I have observed a few things about foot tattoos - a foot tattoo will not make a not-so-pretty foot suddenly pretty - think about it, and PLEASE! have a good pedicure before taking photos to post! Personally, I'll never have several parts of my body tattooed because they are pretty ugly (bad varicose veins for one) and I know the tattoo will not improve them, thus possibly detracting from what may have been an otherwise awesome tattoo!
  8. For the frame, I'd think black (lacquer), black and gold, or bamboo.
  9. I think that may be heavy metal poisoning. Or a simple food allergy.
  10. Interesting that the blue and red are holding as well as each other, and as the b&g. I'm sure it makes you happy! Such nice art. I think that tight control on pigment particle size is as important as artist depth control.
  11. Getting to be a lot of talent in the Appalachian mountains! Hello from East Tennessee!
  12. Still another thread I'll stop following because people started misunderstanding each other and got huffy fast. You would think tattooed folks would have tougher skin.
  13. I understand that tattoo remorse is fairly common. I worried that my first and second would result in the same, but have been pleasantly surprised by instantly and continuously loving them. If you should stay with it for a year (minimum), and decide that it definitely needs a change then ask a darn good artist what steps to take. Only the artist that does any correction will know if and how much laser needs done. Personally, it is not my taste, but it is a pretty bad-ass tattoo that seems pretty well done!
  14. Booked for the 27th with Kris Ford @ Studio617 in Maryville, TN. I've been following his work for months and have been very impressed. Planning to get a faked line on my right forearm from wrist to elbow. I'm not a collector, and this may be my 3rd and last. Or.... Thru the ether from my LP2
  15. I've had friends with that and remember their suffering. One of my bosses eventually had to have a large section removed, then after that healed they built him a new (I called it a semi-colon) one and re-attached. He worked very hard to regain strength each time and in a couple years was fine! Hopefully yours can be treated without the surgery. Thru the ether from my LP2

  17. Welcome to the USA! That IS cold country! You'll love the classic big truck (as long as gasoline prices stay low). Yes, the time of year is GREAT for a Southern visit! You live in an area that I have experienced the nicest people from. Yes! Pictures of other awesomeness! Edit-just saw them in the Latest tattoo lowdown thread - even more for your awesome year. Thru the ether from my LP2
  18. I know that for my personal perspective, I would give just about anything for my mom to have a chance to comment on mine (I think she'd approve, but you never know). I lost her in '93, dad in '78. You need her support and approval, even if it doesn't extend to your tattoos. But even more, you need her. Let her know that.

nathan.l.jones.9 I don't post much, as I don't have a smartphone and posting from the tablet is a little shaky. I do use it to follow local artists, getting an idea of which one I'd like to do my next piece, seeing which ones are active, and generally enjoying the art.

    Intro post

If you can make it to Knoxville, I'd recommend Sarah Hurst at Vivid Tattoo. She does great cover-ups in her all-female staffed shop. custom tapatalk sig goes here
  22. I'd add BurmaShave at the end. custom tapatalk sig goes here
  23. I like the black-and-white houses with big spiral stripes or vertical stripes. If your artist is very good, the light from it might provide a lot of added interest - perhaps illuminating or directing another piece. Or, just big, bright yellow/white and badass.
  24. The artist that did my two (so far) uses a product that she concocts with beeswax, aloe, several other things. She wants the bandage removed about two hours after the session, then after washing and air drying just a very light application of her "ointment" a couple times a day. She provides it in lip balm tubes, about half filled and mine lasted for a month on my first tattoo - ~3X4". She said that was just right. I healed with no scabbing and just the lightest peeling - not even as much as a mild sunburn. I never had any pain and the only itching was no worse than untattooed areas. I don't know if her product is like Tatwax or not, though.
