  1. Yesterday a bunch of folks from our church traveled to downtown Knoxville "under the bridge" to hand out warm coats, hats, gloves, socks, food, and water to the homeless that gather there. Not so much an awesome thing that I did, but an awesome thing that I got to share in. All of the folks there were appreciative and polite. Made it easy to do.
  2. No pictures yet, but Sarah Hurst of Vivid Tattoo in Knoxville added the third cameo, this of the oldest daughter, to my left arm. In the soft, delicate "waddle". There was no happy place to be found! Healing great so far. Next will be some fillers and then a vine with leaves to tie it all together.
  3. @SeeSea You obviously love running. So, do what you love! Not for me, I love riding my motorcycle, but I'd also love to do an Iron Butt ride some day (1000 miles in less than 24 hours). I once drove the cart for a friend in a 100 hole golf tournament (I don't golf, either). Those guys had such a good time!
  4. There are many good artists in NC and Virginia. Discuss your ideas with some of them and see if it works out between you. Check their work. Not just word-of-mouth from others, but actually look at their photos and sketches. Then get a great tattoo! (and another, and....)
  5. Our youngest and the "granddog" Rocky at church Wednesday evening. Yes, Rocky goes to Bible study and pays close attention!
  6. Find an artist. Discuss your ideas. Get a tattoo. Then more. Oh, and start an intro thread of your own. We like pictures!
  7. Had a great time Saturday at a "plow day" on a farm about 45 miles away. Lots of people brought old and new garden tractors and plowed a field. Some great old tractors were ambrosia to this old gearhead. Returning home, I reached the 100k milestone on my GoldWing. Next year I'll take our tractor.
  8. Ah, but she was on Ink Master Redemption this week! I ended up missing the finale while on vacation. I've looked at the pieces on line, and can't believe Matt turned in such a weak final work. Did she tap out on him? Cruizeman did his usual safe piece with perfect execution, but Chris' piece was the best I have seen on the show. I'm sure Cruizeman's was Oliver's pick as it was as full-on American Traditional as I've ever seen in a backpiece in my short couple years of paying attention. I'd hate to have to pick a winner between them.
  9. Welcome! I have a good friend in Baltimore that you may see some day on the streets. He will be on a bright red GoldWing trike. Beware this guy! He has a personality bigger than you can imagine. We call him "Wheels". With two teens, I imagine it is restful to go back to work!
  10. Hello and Welcome, LadySparrow! I know that some here share a hesitancy to embrace watercolor tattoos. I too wonder how well they will hold up over time, but I do feel that many (yours being a great example) are beautiful!
  11. Welcome! We like pictures! (Of both of your tattoos!)
  12. Pinterest, for all its hidden commercialism and hipster stuff has a lot of tattoo inspiration pins that are not tattoos. So does most of the rest of the network, and you can even go take photos of inspiring things (I'm a fan of stained glass, which I think is an excellent tattoo inspiration).
  13. Love it! Different and yet so good in so many ways.
  14. Welcome! We like pictures. Soon (if not already), you will have the "itch" for more.
  15. Did a couple days of riding with my wife through the GSMNP and Blue Ridge Parkway. Both are national treasures, and if you get the chance, see one or both. We've been on the BRP four times, and it never gets old. Spring is gaudy with flowering bushes, and autumn leaves were near peek this week. Tomorrow our 45 year HS reunion will be a cool end to a great week off.
  16. Appointment for November 6th with Sarah Hurst for the third cameo on my left arm. This is to be of our oldest daughter. After it, there are some filler items that I want and hopefully work a vine in through all of it to complete a 1/2 to 3/4 sleeve on that arm.
  17. I reference this post of one of the nicest b&g roses I've even imagined. It should speak for itself. I have a tattoo that I dislike also. I am trying to learn to love it and, if not I will have it surrounded by great art. http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/showthread.php?p=121483
  18. Welcome! Good to see more artist joining lately. Please show some work or links - we like pictures!
  19. Believe me, I wish that I had either demanded a preview of the sketch or taken much longer to study it for my forearm tattoo. Explain it to you artist, and hopefully she will send at least a rough sketch.
  20. Ah, but in "Ink Master Redemption", you get the worst personalities with their worst tattoos! And then ask the "human canvas" to allow the same artist to correct their disaster? I've learned from personal experience, that don't work! Past my bedtime, anyway.
  21. This. The knowledge in the head is as important as the muscle memory.
  22. 1. Welcome! 2. We like pictures! 3. Lots of great info here, but there is no one more qualified for the final answer than your artist.
  23. Have you clicked on it? Mine only shows Consumer Cellular (we use them) and other ads that I've clicked on and sites I've visited. Here is the AdChoices blurb about it: (BTW, I usually block DoubleClick as it really slows down some pages.) What Google does and doesn’t do to show you ads We may show you ads based on many factors, including: Types of websites you visit, and mobile apps you have on your device The DoubleClick cookie on your browser and the settings in your Ads Settings Websites and apps you’ve visited that belong to businesses that advertise with Google Previous interactions with Google’s ads or advertising services Your Google profile, including YouTube and Google+ activity
  24. Thanks for all the work you put in to this for us!
