I decided I needed a vacation and will be at the Richmond convention on Saturday and Sunday. A rare weekend off, should be a hoot.

You should see some of the stuff that gets submitted to my blog; 99.9% of which I send a polite "that's not very well done, is it?" message to. Apparently putting latin or an inverted cross into it qualifies as Occult.

My palms are placed where they're upside down when my hands are at rest. My fingers are only in context when my hands are held in a very specific way. So no matter what, one is upside down.

I have a lot of tension in situations that I can't control; so the xanax just blissfully removes that tension and allows me to have a better time.

Painkillers make it worse, but that's no reason not to use drugs. Here's my recipe: before the tattoo starts, I pop a muscle relaxer. You're going to be getting your ribs worked on and that's going to hurt. A lot. Evolution isn't a dummy, and we've evolved to protect our vital organs. The ribs protect your lungs. Your lungs are important. Therefor, your body has a nice network of nerve endings all around the area to alert you that you're getting into dangerous territory. Which means that you're going to be hating life. As such, you'll tense up. Probably a lot. You'll be sore from the tattooing the next day, sure... but you're also going to be sore from tensing yourself up. Because ribs hurt. That muscle relaxer (metaxalone for the win) will make you tense up less and the next day, you'll feel better for it. The next step is to take an anti-histamine. Tattooing is basically a large scale scratch test. If you take a nondrowsy anti-histamine, you'll swell less. The artist won't be bogged down with puffy, swollen skin. The last step for me is a xanax. Because I hate getting tattooed and the xanax just makes me happy. Caveats: I'm not prescribing any medicinal treatment since I'm not a doctor. Don't use drugs unless you know their side effects. Respect: Ask your tattooer if he/she minds you taking pills. Some do. You don't want to be the loopy customer they hate dealing with.

Got the tickets! He's doing Holy Mountain on Halloween and El Topo on Nov1st, but I think Im just going to see Mountain. My fiance can only handle so much Jodorowsky!

When Rubendall was flipping through his art, I saw a Pushead print I've been chasing for YEARS. And he hasn't even framed it. The horror. The horror. Re: The Corbin episodes. Can't wait. I dropped off some old video of him to the VICE offices for use in the episodes and chatted with the producer about "what comes next". Not to give anything away without permission, but they HAVE shot footage for what could be season two. I had heard about it while getting tattooed earlier in the day; not sure Chris would have told me if I didn't mention it. But it will end up being iconic footage, and if they don't use it... I'll drive back to brooklyn and demand he at least leak it on the internet.
