    If you do a tattoo that really raises the bar, why wouldn't other artists try to do the same thing as you? Some people aren't very artistic so that's how they keep up. Some will use with your work as a starting point and take it in their own direction. I could only hope to inspire someone like that one day!

    Hong Kong and Saipan are two of my favorite places to go. Almost total opposites! Hong Kong is probably busier than any place I've ever been, while Saipan is slow paced and relaxing.

    I think laser is too painful. Cruel and unusual punishment almost! I did one laser treatment on my hand. Far from gone... I wasn't so much trying to remove the tattoo though as I was trying to learn about the process. Definitely not worth it to me. I would rather cut my tattoos out.

    Being around other artists helps me. It helps to see different approaches and techniques that you can pick and choose from as your style evolves.

    Custom lettering is the way to go. You gotta make it flow, man! Old english doesn't really do that.

    Roses are a personal favorite. Also, a nice and fancy script always looks good.

    Hands down, my ribs were the worst! As far as healing though, my back killed me. I had to peel myself off the bedsheets every morning for 4 or 5 days after each session.

    Hello my name is Ian and I just joined today! I've been tattooing professionally for almost 2 years now. I've been hanging around various shops for the better part of 10 years. I always saw myself as a collector instead of an artist, but somewhere along the way, I picked up a thing or two. I'm glad I did!
