  1. Here is a Fudo/Dragon sleeve I started on April first with Scott Sylvia. Still need to line the scales on the dragon and line the inside of the arm. This took roughly two and a half hours. I go back in early June. Biggest project I've started so far (my right arm I pieced together).
  2. That's awesome! Horitomo does some killer stuff. Is he super booked out?
  3. I totally agree. I have a small list of must haves (only one of which I've gotten tattoos from so far) but I figure I can't go wrong just going to Scott. The dude does awesome tattoos. I'm super Jealous you got some stuff by Grez by the way. What did you get?
  4. April 1st I start outlining my second sleeve with Scott Sylvia. Going Japanese this time. I had a lot of different artists in mind for this project but Scott is such a cool dude that I decided I'd just continue going to see him. I'd still like to get work done by a few other people but I just don't when that'll happen.
  5. Here's a little party shark I got from Scott Sylvia recently. I meant to post healed pictures but it's a difficult area of my arm to photograph. Thanks for looking! starting the left sleeve next.
  6. @suburbanxcore Thank you for the kind words! The girl head is also by Scott. It's about a year and a half old at this point.
  7. I haven't posted anything in a long time but this is a tattoo I got in October by Scott Sylvia. I plan on booking another appointment with him on Thursday. I'll be sure to post pics. I think I attached the pictures correctly. Let me know if you see it! Thank you all for looking.
  8. That's awesome. I actually live in Oakdale and just use Modesto as a general idea for LST members. I think it's tolerated a lot more today, but Oakdale still isn't the most liberal of places I think.
  9. I live in an extremely small town and I had an experience recently that left me baffled. I am no where near covered-I have my left bicep and most of my right arm done, yet I was at the gas station and saw a woman grab her child as I walked by and stare at me. Honestly it just makes me chuckle though.
  10. Consider yourself lucky. I have to try so hard not to walk around slapping myself all day haha.
  11. @suberbanxcore I'm sure it'll be nothing short of awesome. I will try to post a pic when its done.
  12. I appreciate the comment man. I would go for it. I was surprised in how short of time they could fit me in.
  13. I'm actually lucky enough to have an appointment with Scott Sylvia in march! Just wanted to actually give a quick thanks to all the members of LST because without all the conversations about tattoos I would have been stuck with a bunch of mediocre tattoos on my body. When I first joined I was only getting my second tattoo and didn't even really know what to look for in an artist. Since then (about a year) I have my forearm, a half sleeve, and now this upcoming appointment with Scott Sylvia. So thanks to all of you!
  14. I got tattooed a couple weeks back-and it looks damn near healed, apart from a little scab that I want to pick so bad!!!
  15. Just recently posted a similar comment on another thread, but like all you guys are kind of hinting at, it really comes down to how educated you are about tattooing. I feel so privileged lately that I took the time to educated on tattoos. You guys on LST have helped a bunch as well, thanks.
  16. I think the biggest problem with a resource like yelp for tattoos is the fact that you are sure to get uneducated opinions. I think it is safe to say most people on LST have in depth knowledge of the tattoo industry and are capable of going in depth about tattoos; whereas the average yelp reviewer probably doesn't know too much about good work, fair prices. etc.
  17. Too true, just gotta find the right artist. I'm a little bummed out I was gonna discuss it with my artist today but my appointment got postponed. Thanks for the feedback.
  18. July 29 will be my second session on my traditional dagger with my siblings names written in banners going across. After that I plan on getting another traditional piece, (no date yet) a lighthouse.
  19. Just had the first session on my forearm done yesterday. I see myself getting a lot of traditional. I fell in love with it, bold lines, heavy shading, badass!
  20. I guess what I would do for a filler is really my biggest dilemma, I have most of it mapped out but at the same time I worry different styles in one sleeve could make it look very cookie-cutterish.
  21. Lots of feathers and indian imagery seem to be popping up more and more.
  22. I know this thread is a bit old now, but how do you guys feel about attempting to mix different styles into one sleeve? I have an idea in my head and when I picture it it doesn't look bad at all but I'm not sure if the end result would really be great- or all that feasible. My idea involves many styles, one part being photo realism, one part american traditional, one part neo-traditional, and one portrait. I am just recently starting to get really into tattoos (I have one and am getting my forearm done in a week), so if I sound completely stupid I apologize.
  23. What's up everyone, my name is Jeff and I'm a 19 year old with one tattoo as of now. I currently have an appointment for July 1st to get my forearm started though and I'm super fucking stocked! I look forward to receiving any ideas and interacting with all lovers of tattoos. The forearm piece I'm getting is a neo traditional dagger going into a rose with four banners going across with my siblings names. Any positive critiques or suggestions are welcome. Thanks!
