  1. Dude- I think all of Matt's songs are just the same 4 songs written over and over again. And usually, I'm ok with that too.
  2. I kinda salvaged the computer jargon from Juan's post- here's the pic Juan tried to post:
  3. hahaha especially being in SF he's gonna get a lot of loving for that one!
  4. I would totally get down on some Wu-Tang Pizza!!! Here's a board I recently spraypainted/sharpied of ODB That Ghost Busters and Jesus picture is pretty amazing too

    Artist Sabbatical

wow... high curved ceilings, wood floors, tons of art- that's a classy shop!!! I'm no tattoo artist but I know a change of scenery/a change of pace/a sabbatical will do wonders for my art. When you hit a wall sometimes you just need to take a week off and let new ideas take hold and old ideas recirculate and come out stronger. For instance, I went on vacation guitarless for a week and came back and was amazed at the melodies that came pouring out after all the work my subconscious did while I was gone. It's the same for writing and photography for me too. Not to say that regular practice isn't equally if not more important... but there's a definite time and a place for a sabbatical that's artistically and mentally/emotionally beneficial. And Dari- I love the entryway to Temple Tattoo. Such a great vibe when you walk in.
  6. Ugh Tim's Roses are insane. I love the hands he did I attached a picture of... As far as inspiration goes- my writing is often influenced by humanity and often the general lack thereof. My visual arts can be influenced from something I see walking down the street, a play off of someone else's idea that I throw my own twist on, or simply from practicing a new technique. PS - I know the link has been dropped somewhere else in the forum but it's totally worth reposting so here is the link to Tim's blog that you should check out!
  7. sooo... anyone care to fill a youngin' in on why the shop closed?
  8. A couple of those Food Network guys are. Off the top of my head, I think Chris Santos is too.
  9. 29 courses?!?!?! I can't even imagine what that's like. That's just over $6 a course at $185 which considering the quality (or so I'm guessing by looking at that photo gallery) really isn't that bad. Crazy
  10. Wow... I totally would've thought that was photoshopped. What makes the sand green???
  11. WOW Dari. Those hands on his front pages are hands down (no pun intended ;) ) some of the best work I've ever seen
  12. There's proof... I thought there was a picture of the finished "product" floating around somewhere out there too

    owl chest piece

    damn!! this is pretty rad
  14. Weird. Must just be me. I've had the whole nine yards done. Patdowns, those chemical sensing swabs, rifling through every page of my notebook/digging through all of my stuff by hand, etc. Just this last time I had my carry-on searched three times on the way to LA. The weird thing is I pack light. I'd make a terrible mule! Haha.
  15. In general, yes I'll be the last person on a bus, plane, or train with an empty seat next to me. But there are always those crazy weirdos who come and try to talk to me about "those sick tats bro" even when i have headphones in.
  16. What about with airports? I feel like I get more than my fair share of "random" searches with visible tattoos. Do pigments in my skin make me more of a potential terrorist or is it just unluckiness? Anyone got any experience being hassled by airport security besides me?
  17. I'm coming home tonight. Make the taco burgers!!! mmmmmmm PS- oops. forgot to share. taco burgers are burgers Lochlan makes with taco seasoning and diced serrano peppers in em. topped with pepper jack or cheddar cheese. soooo tasty!
  18. hahahaha there's a fucking winner! Hawaiian shirt and everything!
  19. DISCLAIMER: I am not a tattoo artist, I'm young, and still have plenty of blank skin left. I do not claim to be the elite know-it-all of tattoo culture (nor have any right to be one,) I'm just throwing my opinion out there for the sake of some good ol' fashioned shit talking. Anyways, now that all that's out of the way... I'm not naming names but I know quite a few of you LST'ers enjoy this great activity. If these things bother me, I can only imagine how much they bother some of you that have been involved in tattooing for decades. First of all, what the fuck is up with these: As if the fake tattoo sleeves weren't bad enough now you can get half a body suit too with no time and minimal money?! Let alone, how awkward must it be taking that off to screw whatever tool you bring home from the douchy club you wear that to that thinks those are real tattoos!! Hahaha wow. Which brings me to my next picture... I'd like to thank Jaybird for sharing this gem to the world via Facebook. I don't know where you saw this but I think every respectable shop needs this in their window! And finally, just because this one made me laugh: And completely unrelated, hopefully I'll see some of y'all at the upcoming SF convention. Or at least at this supposed opening party hosted by Blackheart. -Jake
  20. Thought that this link was relevant with dubmest tattoos... My particular favorite was the "SupercoolBeas" one. What a doucher!
  21. oh of course- no one wants to be that guy going to drop a deuce 10 minutes in. I figured that was standard man. as far as scott's heavier hand... I guess it's all a matter of perspective. He's done about half my work and for some reason most of the stuff done by other people on me are smaller pieces done by artists who take their sweet ass time and are gentle. So compare those experiences to my tattoos by Scott, which hit a bunch of fun spots (chest, belly, achilles, etc,) and his amazing ability to power through work twice as fast as most other artists, and that's why I immediately think of him on the heavier hand end. or maybe he's just fucking with me cuz I'm young and not you cuz you traveled super far ;) Fastest Tattooers
  22. man I'm usually light-headed and in spaced out zombie mode after someone with a heavy hand like Scott tattoos me- now I'm wondering if Ima pass out one of these times! haha I hope not. how often are these occurrences considering there's already a handful of stories about it??? Anyways, that's crazy about the "electricity turning back on" thing tho calbee
