  1. haha I opted out of the x-ray both times and got the full body search. It's more than a pat down- it's pretty much everything except for the happy ending.

    Man Vs. Food

Just picked up burritos from lucha libre taqueria in san diego. Rad place. Champions booth just as cool in person as on the show. Driving home and can't wait to dig in!
  4. Out of town and can't commit to a time til next week but if I'm around I'm down
  5. hahahahaha I didn't even notice that until you pointed it out. awesome. latex body suits- always a wonderful thing to point and laugh at.
  6. No I saw it at the Frida Kahlo exhibit at the SF MOMA. What painting was the guy getting tattooed on him? That sounds like it could be frustrating for an artist to translate that to skin. I don't know though, I don't tattoo, maybe not...?
  7. that's a crazy panther in your 2nd post lochlan. Fucking gnarly bear-panther-beast! I'm normally not a big religious tattoo person either but some of those religious tattoos are great.
  8. wow great photos. I've never seen that copy of "On The Road"- rad cover. here's my contribution, three of my favorite paintings: The last painting was breath-taking in person. The extension of the painting beyond the canvas onto the frame was fucking rad.
  9. It happened to me when I put two links to the blackheart blog in this thread. I think they're figuring it out right now.

    Values

And since this is a tattoo forum feel free to post pictures of tattoos you have that illustrate these values. I know Lochlan for instance has "fidelity para vida" on his knuckles.

    Values

I've been thinking a lot about values and why people choose to act the way they do. My tentative conclusion is that a lot of humanity doesn't undergo much conscious self-reflection (which leads to accountability if you're being honest with yourself and have a generally positive nature) and subsequently falls pray to suffering the same missteps over and over again. I'm hoping it's this and not that more people are mal-spirited than I already believe them to be. Anyways I realized that without self-awareness of one's moral code, people are prone to do things they later regret. If people stopped and thought for every little action, "does this conflict with my values?", a lot less self-loathing, pain, and suffering would occur (and consequently people would lash out less at others around them.) So my question to you all is this- Summed up in one word/phrase, how would you define your moral code? What is the primary value that you attempt to live your life by? If you know what it is, it can be a sort of mantra or guiding thought behind your daily actions that helps you to discover the "right" answer in difficult situations. To get this started, mine is either "Truth" or "Strength". I've been considering each a great deal and haven't been able to narrow it down to one yet.
  12. i can't stop watching that. amazing
  13. looking for a xmas gift for that someone special in your life?
  14. It's amazing what the internet will teach you about your husband/wife/partner/etc ;)
  15. Unless it's like how they learn stuff in The Matrix I seriously doubt his power-learning system. Instant neural upload me "how to tattoo" (and hell why not "how to fly a helicopter" at the same time) and then come talk to me about your teaching "style"! Hahahahaha. Good stuff man
  16. agreed upon olive oil. we've been getting these huge bottles from costco of their kirkland brand organic olive oil that's pretty good. use it with everything! that's crazy about the color changes too. maybe it was just the skins coming off revealing the whiteish bean inside and then it all getting mashed together to make it brown again.
  17. Couldn't have said it better myself. Very nicely articulated and great advice!
  18. and the punching videos begin... courtesy of the blackheart blog: Nick Rodin hit by Tim Lehi with guitar and Scott Sylvia gives Nick Rodin a black eye thank you Nick Rodin hahaha
  19. this video always makes me laugh. homie barely even gets his weight into it but it's still great. the guy punching is one of the nicest dudes ever too which makes it even better for the impatient people skip directly to 2:30 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRkCHyLnUtg
  20. a friend just posted this pic on facebook and I found it hilarious enough to share here:
  21. Very true Dari regarding the personal connection. Seeing as they're both traveling to your area though and you can't just go to Russia or the UK to talk to them, it may be a better bet just to go with whichever artist you can get a confirmed appointment with first. I highly doubt you'd go wrong with either one of them judging by their portfolios.
  22. Lemme start by first stating that I think either artist could accomplish that style piece. Personally though, I'm leaning towards Oleg. Even though THIS tattoo by Bez has me second guessing my choice a little, I still would choose Oleg. I can't tell if it's my blurry computer screen or whether there's almost a brush stroke like quality to the reference pic. Pretty cool either way.
  23. What do you substitute for the lard- some kind of oil? Also I'm hesitant of the "quick" part of that statement. With the last couple batches I've made I've found the longer I cook them for the better they are.
