Such an amazing source to hear all this great bay area history from! And to Robin/MsRad- I went and made my first appointment at Temple about two/three months ago having never actually met Freddy and he was nothing but cool to me. There's a reason the shop phone number is 510-451-NICE and the appointment card says "Freddy Corbin's Temple Tattoo "Good Times"" on it...

YES. 2 nights after Motorhead no less. Bring me Chuck and Lucero in the same night. The Aggrolites are good live and all but Lucero just fits that bill so much better. Get stoked

said it before and I'll say it again- Tim Hendricks' roses are my favorite. there's an awesome example on the entryway to his website here: Tim Hendricks Saltwater Tattoo blog and fuck yeah Hogg for Freddy Corbin's roses. I'm getting some done on sunday by him. I'll post some pictures here after it heals.

I don't think Inception required any sort of mental overstimulation to watch it. You can trip out and get all stoney and way overanalyze stuff if you want but I still feel like I would've left my couch with a firm grip of what happened in the movie even if I hadn't put the extra thought into it. It's a pretty clear plot in my one time viewing opinion and an enjoyable one as well. The first movie that comes to mind for a movie that i was confused throughout it like you're describing though Wedge is Pirates of the Caribbean 3. That shit was unfollowable with all the twists and unexplained non sequiturs. It definitely makes something less enjoyable if you have no idea what's happening. It's like trying to watch tv without the audio- it's just not the same. and MsRad- your question of "what's the point" is entirely up to you. you don't necessarily have to bring some deep meaning out of a movie for it to be enjoyable (in fact most of us watch pointless flicks on the regular and enjoy them.) I think the execution of this film makes it stand on it's own regardless of anyone's opinion on the "point" of it, although having a deeper moral/psychological/thought-provoking impact definitely can make a movie stand above other films.

pushups, pullups, and situps about every other day combined with cardio from bike riding whenever I go anywhere since I don't have a car. working in a warehouse works my legs too from all the heavy lifting I have to do. oh yeah, and stretching. I haven't been stretching as much recently and I can totally feel the difference in my body.

I thought that that was the whole point of the totem continuing spinning at the end- to question whether anything that occurred was reality or not. Either way I really don't see how you can shit talk this movie. I thought it was fucking amazing.

Me and Lochlan had the pleasure of visiting Lucky's and meeting Luke while in San Diego for the holidays. Beautiful shop with tons of great art on the walls. It's on the corner of 10th and Broadway and you can't miss it going by- huge roses cover the exterior of the building. Here's some photos of Luke's work pulled from Lucky's myspace: Both Lochlan and I left the shop super stoked on the experience. Made us both want to go to the ATM and pull out cash for some xmas presents to ourselves.

Personal High Point: Moving from San Jose to Oakland. Personal Low Point: Walking away from a project I'd invested tons of time, energy, and love into because it had turned into something I didn't love. Best Thread: Random Picture Thread (although The Finer Things is making a run on it at the moment) Best Album: Ugh don't make me pick just one. Some records released this year that I love include: Bridge and Tunnel - Indoor Voices Ceremony - Rohnert Park RVIVR - RVIVR imadethismistake - Bow and Quiver Tim Kasher - The Game of Monogamy The Notorious XX mixtape Best record I discovered in 2010 was released in 2009 though- Chris Wollard and the Ship Thieves - Self-Titled. So good! Best Film: Not a movie person. Best Show/Concert You Attended or Didn't: Paint It Black and Ceremony at 924 Gilman St. Dead To Me and Big Kids house show in a garage in San Jose. Biggest Guilty Pleasure: 4 lb lard bucket we just purchased - Best Restaurant: Juanitas Taqueria in Encinitas, CA. Por vida. Best Tattoo of the Year: seen here on LST - my own -
