  1. I'm confused it sounds like you want to set up your own shop but not? EDIT: I googled and it seems you need to tattoo out of an inspected facility. So it seems that what your asking is not legal? Anyone with real knowledge by all means shut me up
  2. @suburbanxcore I hope my peonies come out half as nice. Those are great your wife should be pleased as hell
  3. I like the more distorted ones at the end tell you the truth. Very cool.
  4. Don't trust @BrianH he's a spy for Reynolds wrap! I knew it
  5. I'm no where near that free spirited, but now that I have been going big I do agree with the sentiment. There are about 200 things I would love on my body. so I am assuming any combination of them would make me more than happy if done well.
  6. That's good to know, but with life, money, and current tattoo in progress it will have to Be on hold til next October at least. I'll keep it in my wish list for now
  7. LOL I will. That will be June 28th if I'm not mistaken. And your back collabo is ridiculous... I would love a henning piece and yours came out awesome
  8. Thanks man, I really wanted to keep a traditional feel even if it's not 100% old school. I hear you I get nervous the day of every session and then I'm upset when it's over. This whole thing is a process so no rush especially at 13 months in. The dude over my shoulder is one of the shop Artists he's super talented (wish I knew his name) but his work is solid as all hell. He watches rubendall do his thing when he has down time (usually during my sessions). It's flattering when the people in the shop are into the piece Thanks for all the support
  9. I never had the mindset for suit either, honestly back was going big to me. When we were doing the stencil on my back, my artist was like "hey let me just line this up in case you ever do a body suit." It seemed silly, but that really planted the seed. I've checked your photos quite a bit and was interested because your imagery is very unique. I love how your more traditional pieces really do flow well with the "Japanese" background. Case in point is that eagle under your chest. I agree with the smash the black background concept. I have light graywash on my right arm for the background its not really my preference now that i know more about tattoo. The hard black on my back is way more my style, and I am looking forward to the way it will age. I'm impressed and mildly horrified that you even have your armpits done. You are covered in the true sense of the word. It's people like you that make me laugh at myself when I sweat having my stomach tattooed ( I have heard such horror stories I can't even begin, but I also heard the same about ribs and those aren't too bad as on now), I cannot imagine having and also healing armpits. You certainly have my respect.
  10. A: Baku are awesome B: I love your approach to letting her do her thing. That to me is the spirit of tattoo with a good artist you trust. :D Good luck and I will definitely be checking for pics of this piece.
  11. I am not trying to derail your idea, but if it's a back piece have you seen The woodblock and giclee prints from the guy doing these? This one linked is samus. I'm so in love with it. https://www.ukiyoeheroes.com/products-page/woodblock/infestation-woodblock-print/ His stuff is unreal and I think would translate well into a serious tattoo. Just a thought to help your idea along. Also browse his stuff, the final fantasy 6 one he did is probably my favorite.
  12. @RoryQ thanks and I think that large single front image is the way to go. I kinda want my current artist to do it because the others I like are far away (that andre_atak dude is no joke) plus I've had less then positive experiences with certain NY artists when going for consults on my back. But life is always interesting so who knows. The fox is just at concept now, I want something mythical but not dragon if that makes sense. Staying japanese was never really a question and I love american traditional so that may be a single piece on the calf if I get inspired. I'm lame so maybe a navy mark dive helmet or something similar I love.
  13. I have some imagery in mind, but I'm not sure if it's too much/ little. My plan is namakubi / samurai skull helmet on each thigh as big as possible. Maybe nine tailed fox full torso. I'd like to keep upper body animals. And my left arm all flowers for half sleeve. I was told from butt to thigh on me is another half back piece for most people cause I'm tall. I still have NO damn idea and am kinda freaked about big torso work Edit: also I am aware of the COST lol
  14. I am interested in possibly planning a body suit. I think my style would be neck to knees with half sleeves. For people who want or have something similar I would love to hear how yours developed. I understand I have a lot to finish before moving forward, but does this happen with several large pieces that tie together or is it something you planned out? I've searched and most stories I have read were considerably older and involved people knocking it all out at once. Since this is obviously not me right now I feel a bit lost. (I searched on LST and didn't see anything like this, so if it's a redo I apologize and ignore this thread.) Thanks for the help in advance
  15. I like the ideas here. I feel that where I love now many people EXPECT to be tipped for a job being done regardless of their performance. This has actually made me want to tip People way more when I recognize they are personalizing the experience. I've been putting thought into how to tip for a large tattoo, especially now considering what irezumi said about it contributing to the shop guys as well.
  16. I can't wait to see this as a whole I really like the concept and how it's from Your dive photos. Isn't armpit area the most fun? I'm glad he/she was professional Enough to tell you that your skin was done for the day instead of wrecking you and then needing a touch up
  17. Did shoulder to shoulder, I thought we would have more progress but my right shoulder took a lot of black. Used a 21 (?) on me I'm assuming it's 21 needles. Pain wasn't awful But I am red this morning.
  18. LOL, I was once told it was because these images are so dynamic you need something whimsical in them so they do not appear menacing. This came from an artist ages ago that was doing a foo lion backpiece on my buddy with those eyes. Thanks for ACTUAL information, I'm glad to know the real why of it. Someone also posted about the "fuzzy sun circle spots" on a kois body recently, that I would love to know about. I've googled the hell out of it and nothing came up
  19. Got another 3.5 hours today. I am so excited to add to my piece. Anyone else have work being done ? I always look forward to seeing others
  20. ^^ agree with @ suburbanxcore lion fighting dragon torso piece still a winner.
  21. @hdmark your school mascot is a dragon? Did you go to Drexel? I almost went there for engineering ages ago (I know no one cares).
  22. @CultExciter that leg piece is great, hes bound and shot and still fighting back
