V Found myself in your blog lol!

I must have read the body suit to fit blog a dozen times counting down to my outline day. I am super psyched for you @BrianH. I feel like you've been talking about this for ages. I can't speak for everyone, but after he lays the stencil on you and hits you with the sharpies you get this crazy sense of the scope of the project and how truly awesome it is. When I know I'm headed in for a brutal session I run through the posts of all the people on here that are complete/near complete and I get inspired all over again.

I feel like certain tattoos and images speak very clearly to a decade/ time period/ or age. And while it may have nostalgia for me or others doesn't make it timeless. Just how I feel, but who knows chrome tattoos may come back in style hard

honestly, I was a big fan of new school from way back. I was really drawn to Jesse Smith because I feel like he has a graffiti / Banksy/ Political theme behind it. Look up his Dumb Politician, Mentally Malnourished (my favorite), Corporate Consumption, etc. etc. I would absolutely let Smith do something like this on me, but the purple and pink caricature mermaid giraffe with big eyes shooting flames feel like they have an age limit/ expiration date on them. I do not mean this in a derogatory way, I feel that as I have matured (left my 20's behind) I am less and less drawn to that style as a whole. - - - Updated - - - honestly, I was a big fan of new school from way back. Welcome from a fellow Long Islander and a kings ave victim :) Save up and get exactly what you want nothing is a race and you don't have to meet a deadline. Some people on these forums have planned tattoos for quite some time. Heed the advice of the people on this board I know I have learned a lot reading their suggestions

@Cork thanks for the video I needed a solid laugh today. Palm tats look so brutal, respect to anyone sitting through one

I looked up horiryu 1. Might I push you in another direction... I think japanese work can be much more refined than that. I'm sure members here can recommend west coast artists better than I can.

My mom haaaaaates my tattoos. I think there is less stigma because I'm a guy and have been a weirdo since birth. I think you will find the situation calms down when you do. Your added tension going in heightens the reactions. There comes a point when you parents see nothing about you has truly changed and they will eventually be over it. Just be strong you have to be yourself

I am so curious what is this impassable barrier to getting a tattoo. Hell even a shop minimum rose is something. I feel like a strict business manager in a tattoo shop is missing the point of the industry. What do I know I'm just a collector

Finished another session tonight. Just banged out the stripes. I am so psyched with how the face is coming out. Have black in the tail up top then color hallelujah ! Cork man you should be beyond proud of that thing it's awesome. Edit: sorry about the sideways pics

That yellow dragon back! I love the look of a fully healed suit. How it sets in and looks like it's always been there. Too good
-
Seems like his color work could use more of an actual outline.

Thanks man, I just saw the replies I will gladly message you when I have more/ better questions

Ha! My buddies got tons of work done there I will definitely give a ring thank you

Lol thanks, honestly between granola and the super pretentious people in my town I'm willing to take granola. maaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnn Colorado Springs is still in our price range. Boulder /Denver is above it but I hear ya

Hey Hey all Just put some feelers out there if any members are from Colorado Springs (the springs) or the surrounding areas? The wife and I are interested in making a move out there in the next couple of years and wanted to know anything about local spots? food, fun, and of course tattoo artists. We are headed out there in February and looking to see if we act like the natives how much we like it. Again, thanks for any and all help I know it's not a tattoo centered question

@SeeSea Selfishly I dont want it to be done, it looks so good and I bet it looks better in person. congrats and good luck on the last stretch to the finish

it looks like an origami dragon, and I mean that in a positive way. Maybe add some traditional japanese flowers around it if you're so unhappy but it is cool you must be over-thinking it hard

No cider of your kind at hand tonight. But I got some good old farm fresh cider that I drowned in some knob creek 9 year
