Yea but we are finishing this before extending it. So it's like a big part 1 then part 2 @suburbanxcore thanks. Some guy asked him for a skull peony and didn't get it so he added it to me. His loss because I really like it.

Torture aside got the call about a cancelation today. Picked up another 2 and a half hours tomorrow night. Really hoping this finishes background off. Would make me so damn happy to know color is incoming

Finishing a full backpiece over several years?
misterJ replied to cloudkicker's topic in Tattoo Advice
@cloudkicker. I think you are over analyzing man. Take a breather. Hold old are you? I wanted to be hard into my back by the time I was 30, and I started the outline 2 months shy of 32. It's not a race, and if you're so bugged out by the outlay put it off a couple of years and fine tune what you want maybe. I will say it again, it is not a race. I would listen to @BrianH maybe get a smaller piece first. Back piece is quite the experience, and while I read a ton before starting it didn't quite prepare me for what I am nowhere near completing. Jump into the water with something manageable. -
Hi everyone! Have a question about a full back tattoo
misterJ replied to cloudkicker's topic in Initiation
I would suggest being financially able to knock out the whole outline that way the foundation is set. Also, The road I have now crossed is "oh crap, I think I want a body suit..." so yea be careful what you start. who knows maybe open a kickstarter for your backpiece lol EDIT: just because I am a jerk, what do you want on your back??? -
Hi everyone! Have a question about a full back tattoo
misterJ replied to cloudkicker's topic in Initiation
@cloudkicker I would say that you are getting some solid advice from the people here. My back will slowly be completed over the next year and a half as that is how my sessions got booked. When it is done we may tip 2 years if that makes you more comfortable. I am averaging a session a month. I gotta say that you always lead with honesty. The price is the price, hey it happens, but if it is something you have always wanted for yourself then every penny is well spent. Also, when you start getting into the project and complimented trust me that sticker shock fades fast. But, like I said honesty, tell him/her that you are worried about having the funds for the project not that his prices are too high. See if the artist is cool doing a long term project with you that way you both know what to expect. Get the artist you really really want first, worry about the $$ second. If they have a waiting list use that shit to your advantage to start saving. Maybe stop wasting so much at the bar and get a tattoo fund lol. Don't do a half back then add half back later I gotta agree with that. and when in doubt listen to @Abellve what he posted is dead on. -

@Cork thanks, and this is something I never pictured saying to another guy. looking at your butt makes me nervous. The way Rubendall has been packing in solid ass black, I can only imagine how brutal it's going to be below the waist. I don't know if I will go simple extension of the background with maybe a flower or two, or add some more features. He said my thighs and butt are roughly another half back piece so I think that leaves me open for some serious options.

Finished up session #4 got a solid 2:30 hours in today. I've crossed that line where my goal is to not move, sit still, and take 0 breaks that way he gets to make the most progress possible. I feel like 1 and a half more solid sessions and background is done. We discussed extending the piece officially to thighs and the consensus is finish this first. Honestly my excitement is far outweighing The pain

I'm glad it happens to others, but not. It is so disturbing the first time it happens, and honestly I was concerned that I was overreacting when I was so negative about the situation. I feel like we are the body builders in the gym when most people want to lose like 5 pounds or be social. Maybe we just need to accept the stares. Not so much the touching.

First off man you made my day, I havent heard them called thongs since I was like 8 and my mom got me sandals for a vacation. DAT BITCH! I would have lost it... Bad influence my ass. Everyone is trying to raise their child to be this creative thinking individual while exposing them to nothing but approved normality. I know your kids will be better smarter faster

@idyllsend Loved the game of thrones books. There is a depth and mythology in them That goes way way beyond the show (love that too though) Don't make the same mistake I did and power thorough them Because it all lumps together that way.

Just finished ready player one. I am sad it's a one and done. Buddy is getting me into Christopher Moore as a light read.

I think the rapist comment is extreme, but I also think that was going for humor, but Creepy I agree with. I agree with the statement that physical contact can be a part of natural sexual interaction when flirting, but it must be warranted. I think you are just not acknowledging that people are communicating that touching during interaction with someone new beyond a handshake or pat on the shoulder /back may be unwanted. Especially when women on this site are saying it. (not me, I'm a guy) I have very little actual boundaries with my friends and loved ones. We are brutal to each other in a way that can only communicate love and understanding. But then take a simple innocent situation with someone out of that zone of comfort and its weird, and I am 6'2 230. Translate that to a woman being groped by some dude. I know those wouldn't be the words you use, but it's not about you in that situation, and that is how they feel. When I get work done in the shop and the session is over and they parade you around to the other artists and clients to check progress its always verbal comments not people grabbing and rubbing lol. EDIT: How about another scenario. Tattoos are common place so what else is common? Imagine going up to a black guy (cause Im white) and rubbing his skin while telling him how cool it is. I would get punched so quickly (or a date lol)

I am ashamed now for clicking on that link... It really is the super douche chill stuff like this that makes women cringe when you are genuine or nice with them. Because they always assume ulterior motives. I complimented a girl that had a chest piece by meghan massacre and she looked at me like I was a giant creep. Then you go into damage control like "I really like tattoos, yours is nice." and you just sound worse as you keep rambling, or at least I do. @genie - don't the attacks have to be ad hominem because they concern your behaviors and beliefs not general ideas you are presenting? last login / post on that forum should not matter... you signed up. but I ain't about dat life anymo.

May I add .02$ Jesus Mick you had her at hello lol. My tattoos get grabbed somewhat frequently by both men and women. I remember being in mexico at a hotel pool and this dude was with his girlfriend/wife wouldn't/ couldn't get his damn hands off my arm. It FREAKED ME OUT hard, we have reached a point where tattoos aren't on 1% of the population and I see them on so many damn people. I've also had it happen at the gym... please don't touch me at the gym. I agree that touching to establish a sexual boundary is natural in human interaction, but I find that using a tattoo as an excuse to touch a woman is so damn creepy. I never had the urge to touch another person's tattoos. I have seen plenty of guys in bars touching/rubbing a girls tattoos and the reaction is always that they are sketched out hard. Change the situation from tattoos to something anything else and you will kinda see how creepy it is. She has the biggest butt I just wanna go up and start touching it as I introduce myself. I know that may be an absurd leap in the situation, but part of me feels like you know better and know what you are doing.

Right Arm Continuing Theme-Need Some Creative Input :D
misterJ replied to Jnvlv's topic in Tattoo Advice
sounds cool why don't you plan out a half 3/4 or full sleeve with the artist that way it stays coherent. You may also be happier down the line going that route. There are some really cool Egyptian things to put in a tattoo. Anubis is cool, but so are Isis and Osiris lots to go with -
very cute =) I want the experience of getting tattooed on the floor like that. It's so much more old school Japanese to me. Gotta experience that one day.
