Yeah, I've definitely see people at Kings Ave do walk ins on almost every trip up there. I'll be there on July 8, if you're in the area and looking for an LST meetup!
Oh you getting tattooed on the 8th? I'll most likely be chasing walk-ins 10-12th. I'm in NY 6-14 :)

@ThatGuy gotta give a shout out to http://behind-the-circle.com/ in Brooklyn. Easy to get to, walk ins.
http://www.nyhctattoo.com/ if you want to support the scene.
Cheers.

I will do my very best not to act touristy... haha.

Love Hate takes walk-ins and I think Daredevil does too. Heck, I'd still try Adorned, Saved and Kings Ave if I was there!
Thanks. Yeah there are certainly many to choose from :)

Rose Tattoo could be an option:

Easy to get to from Manhattan and does walk-ins. You can't go wrong with Smith Street though if someone has time for you.
Never heard of them, but looks promising. Thanks for the tip.

Hey gang!
I'm going to NYC for the very first time in about 10 days. Would love to get a souvenir tattoo whilst I'm there, but cannot commit to a date or time. So I'm trying to make a list of great shops that do walk-ins. The only one I have so far is Smith Street Tattoo - I have a piece by Eli Quinters and would love another one.
Any and all advice appreciated.

@ThatGuy
just was looking @ your IG picture of this tattoo - yeah man so cool - dig it
Chad is definetly on my short list
good luck with healing that next forearm piece man
Thanks!

presume you mean scabs instead of scars?
I meant scars. The photo was taken today, about a month after the final scabs fell off.
-
I have been using what I think of as @BrianH 's technique of re-wrapping the tattoo.
Thanks for the advice. I will definitely look into that. All my tattoos up until now have been completely dry healed, and this is the first time I've had scars form. Not a huge deal, just want to prevent it from happening with the next one.
both my forearm tattoos were long healersYeah it's definitely an area that is difficult to keep still. Basically, every time I twisted my arm the scab broke slightly.

A couple of months ago I had the inside of my forearm tattooed. Healing it was a bitch and despite taking as much care as I could, I ended up getting some scars and colour loss. I was tattooed at a convention with an artist who travels a lot, so unfortunately having it touched up really isn't an option.
Anyway, in a few weeks I will be getting my other forearm tattooed so I'm basically looking for tips on how to avoid this happening again.
-
This weekend I took a big step in my tattoo journey. I now have a "highly-visible in every day life" tattoo on the inside of my forearm.

@ThatGuy
I wrote to him that I wanted sort of a meditating figure in a clash/swirl/hole/?!? of energy. Let's see how it turns out, I'm super stoked! Last time I got tattooed was when Rudy and Iain finished my back in march so I've been really getting the itch since. What are you getting?
Sounds awesome. Will be interesting to see what he comes up with. I'm getting a Kali, so that should be fun.
-
@ThatGuyThe convention is all right but not big or interesting enough for two days unless you're getting tattooed both days.
Ah, that's what I suspected. I'm actually getting tattooed by Chad as well. What are you getting?
-
How about something like these (even if they do look a bit dorky)??
I think I'd prefer sweating in a pair of jeans over wearing those in public... haha.
Jeans in July in Barcelona wasn't the most comfortable experience ever, but I dealt with it and the tattoo healed great and super bright, so it was worth it.Discomfort is temporary, tattoos are forever.
-
if you use the word "trousers" i think you've given up on being cool :)
i've used an ace bandage to cover a new tattoo when wearing shorts in warm sunny weather, worked pretty well and didn't interfere with healing
Haha, it was only a matter of time before I ran out of coolness. Ace bandage, that's a great idea - will cover it, and should be breathable as well. Cheers.

A couple of days ago I jumped on the chance to get my leg tattooed next Friday. It wasn't until I had booked and paid my deposit that I realised that I'm going to a music festival in Croatia 5 days later.
Obviously I'll stay out of the water completely, and the sun as much as possible. It will most likely be around 30 degrees celcius (85F) though, so wearing jeans the whole time might be hellish. Trying to think if there might be some other type of trousers that I can buy that will help cover up my calf, and keep me cooler than jeans would. Damn!
-
Just over a week left until the Bash... Anyone else going? @mmikaoj? I'm getting tattooed on the Friday, so I'll be there then. Not sure if it's worth going more than one day though.

Well alot of people on this forum live in the US I believe. I live in holland, I could go but its kinda expensive to fly there and hotels etc. Money i could spend on a tattoo :p.
But what was disapointing for you?
No doubt most people are based in the US. Although I figured since the tattoo scene is pretty big in Copenhagen there should at least be a few on here. The convention was quite small (again, comparing to London), and most of the artists were... underwhelming.
-
I realise now why I didn't get any responses to this thread. Really disappointed with the convention... Might not be fair to compare it to the London one, but still, I had higher expectations from Copenhagen.

Bumping this thread for mother's day.
I'm getting one in 10 days, just in time for Swedish Mother's Day which is on the 31st.
