As Brock said, it would be best to talk to an actual tattooer in person. Where do you live? Maybe we can suggest some tattooers for you.

There have been some amazing tattoos in here lately! You guys must be stoked. I know I'm getting jealous.

Game Over: Kasparov and the Machine It's a documentary about a Russian chess Grand Master who played against IBM's computer, Deep Blue, in 1996 and 1997. It doesn't exactly answer the question that it poses (whether or not the IBM team cheated), but it is still a good intro to the topic.

I always wanted to pick up that book. Great photos. Here's one that some of you will probably like:

Funny to read that when I took a trip to NYC to get tattooed a couple months later. Either way, the Bay Area still has amazing tattooers whom I need to get tattoos from.

Great thread. I've had tattoo dreams that all involved getting really craptastic tattoos in some way. Nothing really deep or anything. Wake up relieved every time, though.

Tattoo Nightmares

I thought this thread was going to be about tattoo dreams that we have had. I had one where I got sleeves of some really ridiculous, shitty work, and when I woke up I had to make sure that I didn't still have it on my arms. I was stoked to say the least. -
Fuckin' awesome tattoos, @CercleRouge and @49531

This. I mostly have my large scale pieces somewhat planned out, but it would be nice to get something medium-sized from him. I do love his large scale work, though.

Come on down to Half Moon Bay, and you can have them. I'd love to see them go to a good home.

I know this is going to sound weird coming from a guy who has the username "Boodah," (I've had this username on another site since I was about 19 and didn't know any better, and I wanted to keep it since some of the people on that site are on here) but I appreciate a well named tattoo shop. Idle Hand is a good one that comes to mind. As was said earlier, the name-the-shop-by-the-street-name ones are good as well.

@Stewart Robson Sent an email about transcribing or whatever else needs to get done. Looking forward to seeing the finished product, and I hope I can help out a bit. Anything to make this project a success.- 79 replies

I have discovered that I have a moderate gluten allergy since I last posted in this thread. I have some Sierra Nevada Ruthless Ale sitting in my mini fridge that's just going to go to waste.

@rozone Listening to your album right now, and it ROCKS! I've got ten days under my belt for the snowboarding season so far. Also, I just started a new job this week, and I signed up for a men's indoor soccer league in SF. -

Not to steer this thread in another direction too much, but that's a great idea about Self Edge; I hadn't heard of them before. I got my other pairs from Brooklyn Denim and directly from Levi's. To stay on topic, I got a lot of new clothes for Christmas, sweatshirts and the like. Also got some stuff for road trips to Tahoe and some new goggles. Was gifted some cash as well, so I may just have to put that towards a new tattoo next month.

@Dan S , that is an amazing event in the tattoo history of you and your sons' lives. And, as always, Nick did an awesome job.

@YOMONEY @kylegrey I've been wearing my 501s a lot lately. I haven't picked up any new pairs, due to money issues, but I did get a nice blood stain on my 501s today. I also wore mine to Christmas dinner with the family, but I'm not at the point where I need to vinegar wash them yet, as I am only at about 4 months of wear. A lot of those lines you guys mentioned I haven't even heard of; thanks for the heads-up.
