  1. I couldn't quite figure that out. It's either Chris Grosso, Jason Ochoa, or one of their clients. The Instagram posts weren't very descriptive. @SStu
  2. @dcostello Thanks for the heads up on Brazen Racing. I'm definitely looking to run some races in the future.
  3. Cool. Just curious is all. We miss you, @Duffa brotha!
  4. He was a great poster. I know some of you know him from elsewhere on the interweb as well, so has anyone heard from him recently? Looks like he hasn't been online in about six months.
  5. Hard to beat that Aaron Coleman piece. Not to take anything away from what you got from Ross.

    hello

Hi, Pete. Welcome to the forum!
  7. You definitely got a great tattoo. Ross is quite the tattooer. Enter it in the January Tattoo of the Month Contest!
  8. Hi, Silvy. This is a great place to start your tattoo experience. Feel free to do some homework and check out the videos and threads. Also, if you don't have any experience with tattooers, may I ask where you got the content for your comic? Just curious.
  9. Welcome to LST. There are a lot of helpful threads on here, and I am sure you will feel right at home. Do you plan on getting more tattoos? Who did the one on your calf?
  10. It's not that strange if you take into consideration that Japan also has a rich history of public politeness and formality, and the fact that Japanese tattoos have a seedy background. Not to mention, Japanese horishi and tattooed people themselves don't really want information about their underground culture to leak into the mainstream, for the most part anyway.
  11. Hahah, don't get too sucked into the smart phone life. It's destructive. @else
  12. @William Bergen That looks more like those rasterbation (yes, rasterbation) images than a "dot-work" or stippled tattoo. If you were to ask me, I think a much better image would come from asking a tattooer who does dot-work to draw you a maple leaf in his or her own style. I know there are some Canucks on here who would be able to point you in the right direction. Which part of Canada are you in?
  13. @else Can't wait to see what comes of your visit with him. Post pics if you can. Also, I've been planning a knee tattoo as well. Good luck with yours.
  14. From age four to 18, I used soccer, basketball, track, cross country, and Irish football as my year-round workouts. I got back into it last year for about 9 months, then I got injured on a run, and I haven't run regularly since. I play soccer on Tuesday nights in SF now, and I am trying to get myself back into running. I ran a few races last year, and I really enjoyed myself, and got fairly healthy doing so. I like trail running mostly, especially during races. In the height of my past year, I was running 30+ mile weeks. I run a mixture of long runs, medium runs, recovery runs, and speed workouts, with one rest day per week. I would substitute soccer for one of my days, or just add a short run in the morning and soccer in the evening or vice versa. Variety of terrain is also important: hills, flats, track, etc. I also did yoga once or twice a week for a while; it's much harder than it looks, and it helped my running until I pushed myself too far and got injured. I want to create the same kind of training schedule this time around, but I'm definitely going to start off slow to build a muscle base and deter injury. I will probably start with three days per week and gradually move that to five and then start building mileage. I like that there are some dedicated people in this thread. @dcostello Have you run any races in the Bay Area recently? I've been getting emails from Active.com about race registration, but I am in no shape to race right now.
  15. @else If you are going to Steve, I would say stick with traditional Americana images. He does those like no one else, and, in my humble opinion, I think that is what he's best at. Tigers, eagles, snakes, skulls, etc. Also, I know that when I started getting into tattoos, there were so many different pieces of flash or tattoos that I liked, which made it very difficult to pinpoint exactly what I wanted in a single tattoo. Just keep in mind that you have plenty of space (I'm making an assumption here), and that you will have room to get each different piece that you like.
  16. Born Weird stuff has always intrigued me. Jeff Rassier is on my list of to-get-tattooed-by, and I plan on getting something pretty weird from him. Stoked to see what this book brings.
  17. @ChrisvK will you be able to keep us posted on your travels? You know we'd appreciate it.
  18. Hi, Teresa. Welcome to LST. Who did your shin outline? Also, as fillers, I always liked ghosts and flames.
  19. I wish I could be a part of the tattoo marathon at HBT. Looks like a great event; it's s nice to see the tattoo community come together for eachother's sake.
  20. Why trust us? Find out for yourself. I mean, it's definitely worth it, in my opinion, if you want to see what all the great tattooers are doing on the daily.
  21. It's supposed to be that way. See: original Amund Dietzel flash. Just saying that that's how he made it.
  22. I would second the Bronson suggestion. It's a great flick.
