  1. I think the weather where you live is also an important factor. Summer in NYC healing is way different than summer in SF. Then again, I've always done the same thing to heal each tattoo no matter where I was.
  2. Two of my tattoos were spontaneous. One is a Jonesy design, and the other's from the first Dietzel book. Super glad to have each, and I will definitely be getting more off the cuff tattoos.
  3. @suburbanxcore It looks like he's tattooing on his own. His Instagram says tattooer instead of apprentice now.
  4. He's only been tattooing a really short time. Not even sure if he's on his own or still apprenticing. If I was ever in the area, I would get something from him, though.
  5. Alex Zampirri at Heart and Soul Tattoo isn't doing too shabby.
  6. Chris Marchetto. I don't have any pictures. I just think that his attitude towards tattooing is one of the best that I have seen in the short while that I've been studying tattoos. He's not into being pretentious, or whether or not he knows so and so. He's a human who happens to tattoo.
  7. I almost forgot how good Dead Magick is. I have this thread to thank for that.
  8. The albums I listened to most this year, not necessarily from 2013, would have to be Black Sabbath's Vol. 4 and Lucero's Lucero. Most listened to song: Across the River by Lucero, just because it is the first song when I put my iPod on.
  9. Also, I'm a bit of a nerd myself, as far as personality goes, but that was a lot to handle.
  10. Just got back to reality after a visit to a local coffee shop. I was looking for a job in pretty much any coffee shop that had good reviews, and my sister had recommended this place in Noe Valley. I walked in with my résumé, and what did I find but a group of the most brightly flanneled hipster girls and one pseudo-punk kid. I'm from a small town, so I found it quite the culture shock experience to walk into that place after working in the coffee shops back home. I think some of the people in SF take the hipsterdom to a whole new level. I felt like I was entering a black hole for about 30 minutes there. And also, I think it's best if I found a different way to find my new projects and school. And that I will stick to real tattooing for the rest of my life. That's my random crap story for today.
  11. I started following Bradley Tompkins' work when he was an apprentice. He has quickly gotten to the upper echelons of tattooing.
  12. How about adding our own @smiling.politely to the list.
  13. Higgs' back piece was in my dream last night. My girlfriend was wearing it though. Spooky. @Cork great back piece. Dana does some of my favorite Japanese work.
  14. @G.Uristti the direction you have taken your paintings is amazing. That wolf head and dagger rocks!
  15. Looks great @ironchef Mike has a great story and just as great skills.
  16. Do any of you have Japanese Yurei or ghost tattoos? Or pictures of such tattoos?
  17. I have seen people do this before, and it makes a lot of sense. On the other hand, I have my nine tattoos on every category of body parts except my left arm and back, and the most tattoos I have on any particular appendage is two. I like having it that way, for a variety of reasons. I plan on eventually having a body suit, so I figure I might as well get a mix of larger and smaller, one or two session tattoos. My backpiece will take place when I have enough money and the right idea, and my left arm is saved for a Japanese sleeve.
