  1. A went to a Yeezus concert this summer with my girlfriend. It was actually a cool concert. I had out it out there that I didn't like Kanye when we first started dating, but I got converted to fandom.
  2. I've always thought that wedding band tattoos looked awesome when done well. Not wedding band as in tattoos of rings, but filigree and an initial or something of that nature.
  3. Daniel Trocchio Robert Ryan, kind of more traditional but still religious and does great mandalas and such Zach Scheinbaum Jondix also guest spots in NYC John Sultana
  4. I would like to get a portrait of my pit bull from Ben Grillo, and bro tats/sibling tats. All are great ideas in my book.
  5. That's rad. I am super glad he had that cancellation. It's still one of my favorite tattoos.
  6. Me and my lady before a concert this summer.
  7. I can't remember who did it, but there was a white kirin rib/stomach piece about 2-3 years ago that was amazing. It was gigantic. Anyone remember the one I'm talking about? It was white/blue/gold. @TaeTae
  8. @scubaron I noticed that you said that you are a dark skinned Asian, and as such, cannot get Americana or Japanese tattoos. If you do some research on Henry Lewis, you might change your mind. Also, I am a fairly dark skinned Asian, and am sticking to all Americana and Japanese pieces so far. There is, of course, a law of diminishing returns, but I will leave that to the professional tattooers to draw.
  9. I can think of one LSTer who has a killer Jill Bonny back piece. wink wink @hogg Great introduction @JoshRoss . I was just thinking the other day that a baku would be a addition to any collection.
  10. Hoping everyone's Christmas was killer, and wishing everyone a happy New Year!
  11. @JakeWolfSkin A stencil, or lack thereof, is actually not a good way of measuring tattooer skill. Go into the What Makes. a Good Tattoo sticky thread in General Tattoo Discussion, and you will find a great resource.
  12. I was fortunate enough to get my Scott Sylvia tattoo on a cancellation. Saw an Instagram post and called the shop. Also, one of my Ron Wells tattoos was originally for someone else at the SFO convention, but he cancelled. Very proud to have that piece as it was his prototype for his super black black angular roses.
  13. Just listened to the Blood Ceremony album The Eldritch Dark with my lady. I thought it was great! She said it was okay, but she also listens too a lot of hip hop. Not to knock her music taste or anything. Thanks for the suggestion @Graeme .
  14. Welcome. I think there are a few people from Seattle here. Derek Noble is also in Seattle at Lucky Devil Tattoo Parlor.
  15. Killer pieces, everyone. Especially like those roses, @JAllen , and the eagle @Dumpleton .
  16. The way pretty much every tattooer who you see people on this forum getting work from does things is by drawing each tattoo for the individual client. If not, then the tattoo was likely flash. Both are great options, but it seems that for you, you would want a custom black and grey piece. If you let us know where you live, I'm sure a few of us can point you in the right direction.
  17. I haven't showed my mom my most recent tattoo. It's on my leg and easily hidden by pants. She's not so much worried about the tattoos as she is with money nowadays. My dad reacted positively when I told him about my tattoos. He even sent me a picture of one that he saw in Hawaii on a recent trip. I asked him if he ever thought about getting more tattoos (in addition to the one he stick and poked on himself at 15), and he said he has, but he has too hairy a canvas now. It reminded me of that wolf that Hooper did on a guys chest. Thomas has shaved the dude's chest, but you could tell that the tattoo would be totally covered if the guy didn't keep up with the shaving.
  18. My lady gave me a book called Books vs. Cigarettes. Planning on starting it tonight. She worked at a library for a few years, and usually has good recommendations on books.
  19. Try doing a forum search as there are a few different threads about Japanese myths and legends. I, personally, enjoy yurei, kappa, shunga, and oni tattoos a lot.
  20. No worries. Also, as far as drawings and ideas go, those questions should be taken to the Tattooer that will do your wolf.
  21. @Gregor Wolf People is one of my favorites for sure. Glad to see someone else is into their music. Thanks @JAllen and @Graeme for the other posts.
  22. I'm assuming that you mean black and grey when you say old school/more realistic?
