Haruki Murakami's Norwegian Wood was the last book I read. Told through the flashbacks of Toru Watanabe are the stories of his university years and the love and loss he envounters. Really dark and psychological, the stories are laced with brilliant description. I plan on reading Lovecraft's Reanimator soon. I watched the movie tonight, and it was really well done. Partial towards books over movies as I am, I am really looking forward to Lovecraft's telling, as the movie was set in the 1980s, and I enjoy period pieces a lot.

Going to be at the Visionary Subversive show @smiling.politely and whoever else will be there tonight! So glad that I get to at least see that part of the weekend. Bummed that I'm missing the actual convention, but work and such. I'll probably be there around 7:30. I'll be in a striped shirt and black pants.

This isn't necessarily my upcoming tattoo, but it doesn't warrant its own thread, really. My grandpa said if he got another tattoo that it would be twin screws on his cheeks. Had a good laugh at that. Hopefully he does it next time he's in the states. Maybe we can get grandson grandfather tattoos. How rad would that be??!

I watched The Lost Boys for the first time tonight. It was amazing! Being from the Bay Area, I found it pretty cool to see the Santa Cruz boardwalk and its surroundings. Also, brutal vampires are rad!

Got this from Hector Fong yesterday at Tattoo 13. Always wanted something from him, and walk-in Saturday showed up, when I had some extra cash. I took this photo at BART. Looked like a weirdo, but sunlight makes for easier tattoo photo's, I've found. Rad tattoos, everyone. Keep up the good work.

I was watching Modern Family earlier, and the mother and daughter were about to get a matching tattoo for the daughter's 21st birthday. Long story short, the mom got the classic Sanskrit ankle tattoo. Also, the two gay uncles referred to flower tattoos as "gay." Just reinforced my thoughts about tattoos in mass media. Couldn't find the tattoos in the media thread, so I posted here.

So Shon Lindauer is guesting in SF in June, so I'm going to save the flight down to LA and just get tattooed in SF.

Taking a trip down to LA to get tattooed by Shon Lindauer at High Seas Tattoo Parlor in Hollywood. The trip will be April 18th - 20th. If anyone has recommendations for restaurants in the area, they're more than welcome. Also, if anyone wants to meet up in LA, shoot me a pm. Would be cool to meet some more LSTers for tacos or something. Heard a lot about LA's Mexican food.
