There is a tattooist up the road from me it has a couple of scratchers in it , we used to get all there reworks and cover ups . One day a girl came in and they had spelt something with a S instead of a C so to correct it they coloured the bottom loop in black so she had a name with a dot under it and not a small one . I laugh now but she was crying at the time ! A few weeks later we found out the had had a fight between each other and shut down due to spelling each others names wrong on each other nec . The really sad thing is I know a lot of people who have been there because it has the word Tattoo out side it and pics of tattoos inside and you can't tell until it heals most of the time that the tattoo sucks . My first bad tattoo I did was on my self a full colour bullet on my wrist after I hammered it in with a super long throw and super volts ,all the colour fell out and it is now the best penis tattoo you have ever seen lol .

i don't think you could dream of a line up like that lol , as normal totaly exceptional work all round . i was lucky enough to get one from tim hendricks and seth ciferri ill post them up when i get time

just a local one dude totally agree with the creative energy thing and it has really mad me approach every tattoo with respect and focus. not shure if i have time to anymore at the mo ? were have you attended ?

i worked my first convention a few weeks ago and found my self drawn to getting a award loosing sleep over what am i best at and what could impress the judges in the hope mabe i could get close to what realy is a plastic gold painted cup probably costing about £2,50 in local shop . judged by one snake charmer who was there to entertain the public with no tattoos and a man selling tattoo machines which did not look very good and this is being nice lol . and another dude who was a good tattooist to be fair, what did this teach me? Well in my quest to find one cheap plastic cup i made every line perfect, set up perfect and took my time colouring with perfect care and shading with as much tonal skill as i could muster going home at night it dawned on me ??? why do i not do this on every fucking tattoo and drawing i approach. my first tattoo back in the shop was a pair of swallows on the hand my chance to do a perfect tattoo on the person who really deserves my full attention . The customer. and there was the holy grail of going to my first convention i dont think i will ever want to practice and aim for awards just good tattooing and a few pats on my back from the public i tattoo .

hmmmm just watched the first episode of ny ink it is very staged lol . did remind me of orange county choppers with all the drama.

a man walks in to our shop and says i would like my wifes name on my arm how much would it cost , we reply £45 , he replies can you do it any lower ..yes we can ... on your foot ..

Im thinking its not just TV programs bringing the tattoo industry to the spot light but the internet plays a large part too, Flicking from facebook to twitter and looking threw random stuff, people will come across tattooing and due to the high standard of some tattoos ,people will want to try there luck .BUT ...BIG BUT its not luck its 24 -7 intense sometimes fucking impossible studying to try and do the most basic of tattoos with some talent or dignity . If anything is to blame its faceless people selling starter kits. But even then people would make there own. I had a few tattoos done back in the 80s back when it was cool to have zips on your denim jean pockets lol. I used to get tattoo mags and graff mags and just stare in amazement but never had a clue how you would become a artist in ether genre. I would just throw them under the bed with all the other mags and get my pencil out and try and do some sweet art!!! (ligers and funny shaped female chicks with over sized boobage holding swords )...sweet... If i was young now i would see the art in amazement get my laptop look up tattooing go to ebay and within 24 hours have one of my mates screaming in pain as i try my hardest to get a fucking liner to work at 18v lol with a throw of about 2 feet in length.in a size 1214RL in a 5RL tip. The really fucked up thing is there is some downright untalented people with tattoo kits walking in to council offices and walking out with health registration licenses. Im no way from back in the day and totally understand the previous wave of tattooists point but im sure tattooists from many waves before the last have had the same concerns about these long haired dudes tattooing. But many of the newcomers back then respected the line of teaching and stayed true to the rules and i guess as long as the people with the information now ,drip feed it to the hard working talented few .Hopefully it will keep its charm and finesse. as for the TV shows i bet most of us have watched loads of them and given the chance most would do it . They are aimed at maximum viewing potential to the world wide public ,not maximum respect to the tattoo industry. The tattooists doing the programs are not to blame its the man and all his cash suckling ferrets who give a fuck about tattoos as much as they do for chopper builders and ax men lol .........fockers out ...........

took me while to get this post up due to being snowed under with designs at the shop .well chuffed .

i have been stalking this man for years trying to get tattooed by him lol with no luck but i will not give up, i have used his liner and his shader for black n grey i love the softness , as for the liner it has a nice long stroke to it. and the pens cool as fu4K too , TIM WE SALUTE YOU scott Sylvia that was a good one dude .

Off to get a gipsy head on my hand tomorrow with stewart robson @ frith street , if you dont no the shop look it up ,if you do you know they only supply quality work ,cant wait, ill post pics when i get back .. Also hoping i can pick up a new liner from dante at the same time.
