Sorry if I've been annoying and clueless of the protocol with threads. I won't bug this forum anymore.

Ok. It's been over a month since I got the tattoo now. It's not bugging me as much but it still hasn't peeled. I took the picture in sunlight so maybe that's why it looks sparkly/dry. However, it doesn't feel dry. So how's it looking now? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I probably should have clarified...I'll wait a few months before I make any decisions. Just knowing I have options if it doesn't turn out will ease my anxiety about it. Thank you for your responses. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So, I recently got a new tattoo . . . I'm not sure if it was my fault, or the artists's, or just bad luck but the line work isn't looking too hot. The lines look a little jagged or "smudged" and I think I have a few blown out spots (very slightly, however). But I do like the overall design and if I could salvage the tattoo rather than remove it (and spend a lot more money), I'd much rather do that. Since I'm new to tattooing, is it at all possible to go over the outline with a slightly thicker line to clean it up a little? I imagine it would depend a lot on the tattoo, but I just wanted to see if it was even a possibility first. Also, if I can get the lines re-done, what is the protocol? I'd rather go to another tattoo place, but is that looked down on or would someone even be willing to go over the lines?

Tattoo not peeling yet. Second opinion greatly appreciated.

So I got this tattoo about a week ago and I've heard that tattoos peel the first week. I think that was the case with my first tattoo. It's certainly itchy and I've been washing it once to twice a day and putting a little aquaphor ointment on it after I clean it. Am I doing something wrong? How is it looking? : I tend to suffer from buyers remorse and paranoia during the healing process, but then love my tattoo more and more after it's healed. Hopefully that's the issue here. Thanks! (I probably should of mentioned these details before) That's what came to mind but I don't have a strapless bra and my sports bra doesn't really work. I wonder if I can find something that converts a regular bra to a racerback. Has anyone heard of something like that? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Question for the ladies: what do you do to help avoid bras irritating a new tattoo? Obviously I try not to wear a bra when I can, but sometimes that's not an option. Thoughts? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thank you. I definitely agree. It's really got it's own unique vibe. I'm preferring it a lot more than Utah surburbia. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks for the feedback-- I need a grounding perspective sometimes. My biggest weakness, like I mentioned, is thinking and analyzing things way too much. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So a bit of background for a bit of context. I got this tattoo a few weeks ago. I was my first and although I had planned on getting a tattoo, the final decision to take the plunge was more spontaneous and prompted by a set back in my life. (The full quote is "Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.") I probably didn't have as clear of an idea of what I precisely want that I should've had and the inspiration pictures on my phone weren't opening. However my tattoo artist did a good job despite having little to go on. Despite the fact that we had an appointment, I waited a good hour and a half. (They were super nice and gave me a discount for waiting.) So by the time it was my turn, the shop was closing soon. In addition, besides the fact that I didn't know what to expect, I didn't want to be super picky about every detail. (I know this sounds silly about something permanent-- however I do tend to over analyze and be a perfectionist so it's difficult for me to strike a balance.) Sorry-- that ended up being too much background. Anyhow. Here's my question for all of you guys that are much more experienced: should I add more color? If so, what is possible and what suggestions do you have? I like the idea of adding a light orange in the un-colored petals and then adding a more blue-green shading to the leaves and darker pink/red to other petals. I really like the idea of adding more color-- but I do like it now so I just need some perspective. Thanks for slogging through this monologue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I can definitely commiserate. My parents don't know about my first tattoo yet. I'm hoping they'll at least act like they did for my nose piercing and just look awkward and uncomfortable but not say anything. It's been a long road to stop worry so much about other people's judgment of me-- especially my parents. Especially because they are Mormon and in Mormonism it's a sin to get tattoos and piercings (although it's ok for women to get one set of ear piercings...go figure). It might suck to not have their support, but it's well worth it to take the plunge, except the consequences of possible disapproval, and live your own life. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I knew I was bound to reveal my tattoo ignorance at some point. How embarrassing... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I got piercings before I got my first (and currently only) tattoo. Nostril and I'm working on adding more ear piercings-- just two on each ear right now. The healing time for a tattoo was way less and way less involved I thought so it makes me more inclined to get more tattoos now-- but I still like getting piercings.:) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Guy gets $15k for an R tattoo on his face

I don't know why, maybe because I live in Utah and was raised Mormon, I find this hilarious. Maybe it's the irony of getting a tattoo to promote a candidate whose religion is against getting tattoos. -
Peonies are beautiful. Like others are saying--a peonies incorporated with hannya would probably look amazing since you're mixing something feminine with something more masculine.

I'm so tempted to get a Tardis! In the meantime while I ponder what style and where, I might just get a small 11 tattooed for Matt Smith on my wrist or ankle.

I think you make perfect sense. It's definitely something I'm considering when I get my second tattoo. -
I could totally do Star Wars! Although I'm really tempted to get a traditional-style Tardis from Dr. Who.

There are all so amazing. If it were me I'd lean towards the first or last one--super unique.
