Why is deoderant soap bad for a new tattoo? Because it will irritate it or is it because it diminishes the strength of the colors?

So The fish theme is very important to me but I just wanted a little validation for my idea from folks like you that knows more about the art of tattooing which I am still learning. I just received my first color tattoo of 2 koi on my left upper arm. Since then I have seen a black and gray tattoo of 2 koi and really love it too. Im thinking about getting it on my other arm. Would that be considered silly to have bookend koi arms- one in color and its black and gray brother on the other arm?
