  1. My left arm hurt way more than my right - done about two + weeks apart.
  2. We have sheets/ shirts specifically for healing ... Needless to say between the two of us my white sheets haven't been used in a while.
  3. So thanks for the butterfly Lady Head help! Thought you'd appreciate the result.
  4. Glennie does great lady heads! Honestly I'm thrilled - she did such a great job. Yay for spontaneous tattoo days!
  5. Did this today - found out Glennie could take me and decided on my lady head on my trip on the way down
  6. It's a super easy spot to heal - my arm is just about done - my back, in contrast, was a scabby sorry mess.
  7. Oh that's happened to me too! I always feel vaguely trashed the next day! Glad to hear it's improving @Zillah
  8. My tattoo artist had a moment of inspiration and made one of my moles my buddha's bindi - which I thought was awesome.
  9. Willow bark is a natural version of ASA/ Aspirin which would be helpful for pain and circulation. Aspirin will likely work faster. I haven't had leg tattoos by the boy has and most of his discomfort came when getting up or stopping when walking - long sitting should be fine - it's just when the blood flow rushed to his legs that he had a rough time.
  10. Ice pack will help with the swelling too - honestly my arm swelled so much my bandage was tight by the morning! Though since that it's been a brilliantly easy heal!
  11. My arm swelled and bruised pretty intensely - likely the same. Like anything keep an eye on it.
  12. I would have immediately acted like she was diseased and started publicly disinfecting etc ... She did put her filthy hand on your wound after all.
  13. I've had unwanted attention over the years - though not recently living in Toronto as it's a big city with a lot of tattoos. When I lived in the interior of BC I got a lot more unwanted attention. But with my new arm piece I'm expecting for the grabbing to restart. On a related issue I'm working at a big (2000 guests) academic conference here in the city next month and have to wear a conference T-Shirt (ick), which of course means cardigan and long sleeve shirt while I'm on the desk. Though many of the academics there will be awesome I know there are always the silverbacks that I don't want judging me and my CV by the ink I've chosen (and LOVE). Been a long time since I've had to think about covering from a uniform. My students did get to see my (healing) ink last week as it was just too hot during their exam and I took my cardigan off because I was dying. Luckily reviews are already in and I don't care :). I did get to sneak in a tutorial about tattooing in WWI and WWII - now they know why!
  14. That's a fantastic tattoo! Love the goldfish!! - - - Updated - - - Lovely!! Your daughter must love seeing this!
  15. I remember crying when my mom cut off all her hair - kids resist change. It took me about 10 minutes to forget all about it. She'll love how pretty your arm looks. Good luck with it!
  16. What style is he interested in? They are all great I can say this with certainty as anyone there I or Mark Bee hasn't been personally tattooed by I've spent a good deal of time watching while hubby was being worked on.
  17. Also like anything with T1 placement of injuries is key - I'd be careful with tattooing extremities like feet (just the same as being careful with blisters etc is part of normal care.) also I'd second the Pearl - I'm a client there and they are great.
  18. Thanks so much - I'm really happy with it - and it was fun as Dan hadn't worked with those particular prints before so it was something new for him too. I'm barely healed and thinking about the next stage!
  19. Ok so better photo of my arm - the bottom designs are from Hokusai woodblock prints of Higashi Hoganji Temple and Mt Fuji - both from the views of Fuji Collection (I lived near Mt Fuji for 5 years) and am thrilled with the progress - we're going to keep working down the arm but Daniel at the Pearl in Toronto does such amazing work I thought I'd share this.
  20. Arm by Dan Innes at Pearl Harbor gift shop
  21. Just started healing my arm... I'm solid during the tattoo but damn I whine during the healing ...
  22. So my japanese arm piece has been shaded today by the talented Dan Innes at the Pearl Harbor Gift Shop in TO - I don't have a good photo of the whole thing yet here's a detail of my Hokusai Mt Fuji :)
