  1. Welcome! Don't downplay the work that you have - there's not contest. (Well, actually, there's a Tattoo of the Month contest but that's a whole 'nother thing.) It's sound like you've got quite a collection going. Share?
  2. Added my little clownfish to the mix last night.
  3. So by "enjoying it more again" you mean you just aren't screaming in your mind as loudly? I'm sitting in the chair waiting for the drilling to begin. Love handles down to the waist and upper butt tonight. Oh joy.
  4. So he JUST changed his review again! Now it is just a line of dots. Heh heh. I guess his ass-kissing didn't work. - - - Updated - - - .....and now he's deleted his review completely. I bet there was a fight with the Missus.
  5. I haven't, but with either waxing or Nair, the idea is probably to do it a couple days before a session to let the skin recover from the "trauma."
  6. I'd never get tattooed by either of these instructors. Some of those tattoos are unfortunate.
  7. So I just searched LST for posts about waxing before tattoos to extend that smooth feeling you're longing after, and the only hit was @Cork asking this very question a couple years ago. He was soundly ignored. But here you guys are with your sly winking about mystical exhilarating feelings lately, maybe you should go give it a try. ;)
  8. Totally fitting - I'm sitting here eating fresh Jersey corn! Cool tattoo.
  9. I will say first off that I don't work for Yelp and I don't own a business reviewed by Yelp. (And I read between the lines when I use Yelp.) But I read the FAQ and I design algorithms and some of this makes a lot of sense to me. Ignore all this if you want ::shrugs:: but it at least partially explains your rating and can help you improve your rating going forward if you wanted to. So, I'm repeating my Yelp quote from above for completeness: Sifting through your Yelp reviews, most of your shop's "not recommended" reviews are by people with 0 or 1 friends, and have posted only 1 review - for your shop. Also, there are a large number of reviews for your shop all in a few short periods of time, all made by people doing only 1 review - for your shop. And all of those reviews give your shop 5 stars. Some of the 5 star reviews include one from your owner and from someone simply complaining that there are bad reviews! From the Yelp FAQ, they use a software algorithm to detect trends like these and tag them as not recommended. From an algorithm standpoint, these look like fake reviews designed to inflate your rating. You could easily have gotten those reviews by having all your friends sign on and create "fake" reviews. As you might suspect, this happens all the time on Yelp. Now, you say that the reviews are genuine, but you, the business representative/owner, took an action to influence your reviews. Yelp doesn't like that behavior (lots of 5 star reviews from people only having reviewed 1 business in a short period of time). As a consumer, I would look askance on those reviews as well. Also from the Yelp FAQ: So, now that you understand how Yelp works, you can game Yelp back. If you want a review to be recommended, ask your clients to post the review RIGHT AFTER they get the service, not by making a mass call for reviews all at the same time. The reviews need to be randomly spaced out in time. And tell some of them to give you 4 stars - which is still a great rating. That will still help your current rating and have less of a chance of the review being rejected. Also, ask your owner to respond to negative reviews with a short, professionally-worded reply that shows you are being responsive, not defensive. My $0.02. YMMV

    hi

Oh, surprised you didn't put that in your intro. Most people share they have tattoos in their introduction after they lurk for a while reading posts to get an idea what the forum is about and if they are interested in the content and signing up.
  11. I don't see how unless anything gets infected or it's a hell of a really big piercing. Like with a cookie cutter. But I'm not a professional. I just act like one before I'm fully caffeinated.
  12. Clicked on Quick Links -> View Site Leaders Either of these messages is shown: Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 265027584) (tried to allocate 15728707 bytes) in /home2/lastspar/public_html/forum/vb/cache/db.php on line 109 OR Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 293339136) (tried to allocate 80 bytes) in /home2/lastspar/public_html/forum/vb/cache/db.php on line 109 Repeatable in Firefox and Safari on OSX, but the allocated memory value seems to alternate between these two values regardless of browser. That's trying to allocate a heck of a lot of memory in one shot - we must have a ton of site leaders! - - - Updated - - - Man this looks like a roll under problem but I can't figure out the magic number. Sooo close to 0xF00000.

    hi

    Then get a tattoo......get a tattooooo...
  14. Dude was about to get a watercolor tattoo and AND YOU'LL NEVER BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED NEXT!
  15. As a reviewer on Yelp, your reviews are considered "not recommended" until proven otherwise. I just noticed the "not recommended" thing and read up on it. Here is from the Yelp FAQ. Blame it on "the software". This is their way of trying to force you to write more reviews and make "friends" on Yelp so they can mine even more information about you to sell. EMPHASIS MINE.
  16. Um, when you do that, this post comes to the top for anyone subscribed to it, and you've added no content. It would be better if you bookmarked it or subscribed to it instead. Thanks.
  17. Hmmm, I'm not a doc, so I'll just defer to what others have mentioned elsewhere - try the antihistamines and if that doesn't help and you remain concerned, see a doc/dermatologist. I hope it resolves and it doesn't make itself a habit. - - - Updated - - - ^^^ and make sure you wear that sunscreen! ;)
  18. Take a read over in the healing section. This specifically deals with the challenges of healing with travel. Some people will do the first clean, etc., the rewrap to trap the next batch of blood/plasma etc. for travel or cleanliness. Or, you're thinking of Tagederm/Saniderm which requires wrapping for several days, and that's its own thread elsewhere.
