  1. I just saw one of these for the first time - it's the only one I've seen that looks like each piece could stand on its own as an amazing work, and when seen together, take on a more complete life. In an entire different league than (gimmicky IMO) stuff like the 4-person "LOVE" tattoo. From Gogue's instagram

    new here

The teal and purple looks cool IMO. Good luck with it today!
  3. @Mick Weder - So I had my "Death before Decaf" cup of liquid medicine this morning, and shortly after a chilled medicinal cider in the shower to accompany the Big Scrub. I'm liking this new aftercare regime of yours!
  4. You've been drinking and munching a lot lately. And not cider I might add. - - - Updated - - - You could rectify that, you know.

    hello

My average heal time from start to final scabs gone is about 2 weeks. I always have a scab or two. The shortest heal time was 12 days, the longest was 16. I think I might take a little longer than most people. IDK, but you're still "normal." The ink looks "dull and faded" because you are looking at it through a layer of dead skin and layers of live skin. Keep wearing loose clothing and "going easy" as you say and just wait it out.
  6. I'm tracking hours on my back piece. It's pretty easy because each session ties pretty nicely to each of the elements he's adding, like 6 hours for the clownfish/anemone, 3 hours for the sea snake & coral, etc. I'm type A enough to want to know hours at the very end. However, I do NOT want to know how much I paid! (Resisting urge to do the math...)
  7. Even if it isn't, I'm taking a note here, and gonna tote an ice cold cider into the shower when I wake up Saturday morning. I'm pretty much destroyed after late night sessions anyway - may as well wake up and self-medicate straight away!
  8. Great description. It feels like my back has been waiting years to get this piece done, and it's finally getting its way.
  9. Quick appearance on the beach. Still a lot left to do and layers to add, but it's coming together. Back in the saddle on Friday. Dude asked me, "Please don't tell me you did that all in one sitting."

I got it too. Dude is already banned.
  11. I think mostly they are used in calm water, but we're on the beach and hey, ya gotta get them back to the shore somehow, right? Let's just say I had a wonderful ride in, but my final landing on shore wasn't exactly graceful. I wish I'd been wearing my long sleeve rash guard instead. I was watching a video the other day of people surfing SUP on some of the big waves at Teahupoo. Very impressive.
  12. I've seen quite a few rash guards that look VERY hot-mamma. The drawback is depriving fellow beach-goers of the back-piece viewing. (Moving this thread to a better location ...) Here's as good as it gets on the rash guard front - I'm learning to SUP. I'd love to share my tattoo on the beach (especially in the crowd of burned-out tribals) but I'm paranoid about screwing up the colors, especially since it's still in progress. Although, I'm thinking about a beach pic when the sun starts going down tonight.

  14. Ohhhh, ok. I google it, and everything comes up in Dutch! (After translation) ouch. Fingers crossed for low-ink-loss. Can't wait to see the finished product!
  15. I really like the slithery idea of the landscape. Doing the exact landscape itself will lose perspective of what it actually is, but if you took the slithery idea into another concept, that would be really cool. @9Years has a good thought - find something that has the same idea. Even if it remains a river, with stuff on the sides that complements the movement.
  16. Boy, I go away for a day and I missed a ban hammer? Sheesh.
  17. I agree with @Shaun1105 - bigger is better for the type of detail you want. You don't want just her face floating there so it has to be a nice size for the detail. I bet it feels great to look in the mirror and see her back there, right? :-)
