  1. @Lance, @OutOfIdeas - oh you guys.... you are so bad. SO bad! Yeah, I swore only a backpiece, and here I am on Horitomo's wait list. At the very least, I've gotta do a major refill on the tattoo jar. This back piece cost a TAD bit more than I expected. Ooof.
  2. My friends and hubby went at my back a few months ago, after many adult beverages. Red sharpie. It didn't come off immediately, and because it was on my back, I forgot about it. After a session 2 weeks later, I suddenly remembered it might have still been there. My tattoo artist never said a thing. :o
  3. I am on the wait list for a Monmon cat and I'm just dyyyyyying waiting for the call. I am so in love them them!
  4. Oh nooooo - where's she gonna tattoo you now that the shark is slammed on to the back of your neck?
  5. I'm really more and more impressed with how well some of these legs are designed. There something about these types of negative space layouts that looks more impressive on limbs than it does on larger flat areas like chests and backs. Not sure why.
  6. Come to my house when the young males are booted out to find their own turf. The screams are blood-curdling. I thought something was horrendously killing a screaming goose or something. It goes on and on. For a while we had a noisy one that would drive me to sleep in room on the other side of the house. Eventually, at 11 pm, it would be, "Oh no, it's goddamredfox again, I need to sleep!" But yeah, they are adorable at every OTHER time of the year!!! I love their faces.
  7. Awesome @Cork. I just spent time staring and finding new stuff. Really nice design. And interesting flame placement. @.@
  8. Oh, THAT'S right! That is awesome ... and I see I Liked it already ;-) I love all that negative space.
  9. @Pugilist - what's on your back? It's hard to make out from your user icon thingie.
  10. This thought came to be after the last session - I've got this 9 month relationship with this random guy, session after session. It will eventually end - I don't know when - and the "breakup" will occur - will I mourn? :-) What an interesting thought. I am so invested in this piece and it's dominated several aspects of my life (including that I haven't run a single race all year!!!), but I realize I'll be sad when the process is over. For a microsecond I thought about spreading the sessions a little further out to prolong it, but then thought, no - let's get this thing over with!!!
  11. Welcome! These are some really great tattoos. Panthers will get you everywhere here, LOL. I love the skull in the hourglass. Nice!
  12. Clearly she didn't follow her own advice on that one.

    Aloha!

Welcome! Nice to have family history like this.
  14. That is gorgeous! Really really like. It was interesting to read your story. I did some over-thinking too until my tattoo artist kinda smacked me down. I'm much calmer now :-) Just lovely! Thank you for circling back around to "complete" your thread with the final result.
  15. I'm seeing women in their 30's feeling peer-pressured to get a tattoo. One told me she didn't think she wanted one, but if she did, she was thinking about the feather turning into birds. I didn't say anything. (But she always wants to see updates on my back.) The next time we talked some months alter, I asked her again if she was thinking of it. She said she was, hesitantly ... and I asked about the feather/birds. At least she told me she wasn't considering that one anymore because it seemed like everyone was getting that one. She's in a field where tattoos are fine. It's kinda sad. She is a smart woman but I sense that she's waiting for a tattoo idea with meaning to come to her so she can get over that hump of feeling like she should do what everyone else is doing.
  16. Yeah, mine mentioned cat hair as well. New sheets on the bed the night of the tattoo, and no cats in the bedroom for a couple nights. The four-leggers are never happy when I get a tattoo because they are banished. Leo, my quiet tentative sweet boy, laid next to me on the couch when I was knocked out after a very late night last week. Like he knew I was hurting and he was watching guard. Very unusual for my skittish boy and very sweet.

Welcome! [Edited to add] Check out the search engine for good info. http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/tattoo-after-care/3433-tattoo-shaving-ingrown-hair.html
  18. Welcome! Looks cool. Don't worry about the scabs. I get them too in the areas where he really works the detail - often in the faces like this. Likely you didn't do anything wrong, although getting that first cleaning or so done well is important. Just keep using the moisturizer if that's what he told you to do. Be careful about not getting the scabs snagged on your shirt and not rubbing too hard when you put on the moisturizer. My scabs take a little longer to fall off, so just wait them out. If a little color comes out, your tattooer should do touchups, so no worries! [Edited to add] Some scabs can take up to a couple weeks in my experience, so don't freak out if you have some that just seem to linger.
  19. Sounds like the start of mine - my husband looked at me kinda funny when I asked him to take bare pictures of his wife from the back and send them to some random guy. That was QUITE a conversation! (Save that picture - it becomes the "before" picture!) And the "as long as you can handle." Be very ready for that challenge. There is a ton of mental fortitude involved - a contest of trying not to tap out before he decides he's reached a good stopping point. I made it to 8 once. Only once. ::shudders:: January - coming up soon! Carte Blanche - that will be really cool with the design you're doing. Be sure to post progress shots.
  20. Thank you. Little critters just dominate things sometimes! Yea, I wrote the review, and then sent my private feedback to the service using the email address provided in the email they sent with the bribe. It bounced. I better get my freaking coffee gift card or I'm editing my original 5 star review.
  21. @Mick Weder - how about just taking a second pass around to fresh things up? You could experience that back piece all over again!
  22. I just got an email from our emergency vet facility. They wanted to bribe me with a $15 Starbuck's card to write a review. Apparently I'd written a review in the past somewhere. So I wrote them a review. And I get 3 free fuu-fuu beverages. I suppose this is probably inappropriate bribery. I gave them 5 stars of course, as I had before. But it gave me the opportunity to reply to them in person and complain about they way we were treated with Molly died. So I suppose overall it is a good thing for them, if they actually take the feedback I gave them privately. But yeah, that's how reviews work.
  23. Pokers cards for North America? What did we do wrong to you during your time here??? ;) Welcome! Doing a big map could be cool, but you could really lose track of the boundaries by putting pictures in there, and it might make the pictures look flat to be shoved into the contours of a continent. Unless you let the individual items extend outside the boundaries, like they were hovering in space over the earth, that could be cool.
