Just to drag this back on track, the OP asked about moisturizers to use AFTER the tattoo was healed. Not during the healing process, but for everyday use after. There are several discussions about products and techniques for the actual healing itself in other threads.

You make a good point. A quote from their website Testimonials page: "Been going to dagos for years, never a problem never an infection…..I always buy my own cleaners tho ….

Yeah, my post was kind of a "put up or shut up."

@Bmore - sucks. Maybe you could set up something with an artist where you could be able to rush in if it clears before it acts up again.

@Katy32 - welcome! If you discover any new secrets or techniques, come back and share!

Upper right thigh. I gave him all the space from mid-thigh up to the swimsuit line, and around to the side midline. I just said that these are the boundaries, and however he wanted to use the space. Thanks! Hmmm, not sure there is a "club." Molly is very nice - she books for Horitomo, so write to her specifically. She uses the email [email protected]. When I called at first, they said to write an email saying what you were looking for, where on the body, and give as much information as you could about what you want. Molly emailed back the same day, and at the time (summer 2014) said she would put me on the waiting list and that I would get a call when they were booking for 2015/2016. I just had the consultation appointment (phone call and email follow-up) today. If it helps, I was incredibly deferential in my initial call and email, and wrote clearly what I wanted and provided reference pictures. I consider this an honor to be tattooed by Horitomo. Your email truly is a sales pitch. They probably pick and choose the work they'd like to do.

Fat people with tattoos: Your thoughts
SeeSea replied to Delicious's topic in General Tattoo Discussion
I was going to DM you, but I suppose this is universal. I am not fat but was overweight for many years. I am older, and have the delightfully attractive back flaps. Not bad, but you know we obsess about things that we focus on more than others do, so of course, that's where my eyes went. HOWEVER, I was/am amazingly delighted how my back tattoo hides them! My tattoo artist placed the long dorsal (top) fin of my eel right along that area, and it's gone! It even gives eel life in a way. There is another thread somewhere around here - maybe it's actually this one or the ladies thread - that talks about tattoos as cosmetic surgery. I've also got the dreaded batwings - but I see women with some awesome upper arm tattoos, and you know what - the batwings end up so secondary to the tattoo. A tattoo completely changes what you and others focus on. Try not to escalate it into something so encompassing. Believe me, when you get that tattoo, the focus is gonna be on the art, not on back fat. Hugs. -
Thanks! Monmon from Horitomo at State of Grace

Finally finished my back last night. Yup @a1steaks - back to running next week - congrats on yours too! I'm going to wait and post healed pics so I can show the sides too, but Sean posted the straight-on shot on his instagram. All sorts of funny milestones have been going through my head. The last 5 am drive home. I just took my last "first" shower. Coincidentally, the bottle of Dial soap is nearly out. It's the last week of smelling like Redemption. The last week of red welts from the painters tape on my stomach. The last week of really uncomfortable sleeping. I was somewhat out of my mind with exhaustion and chills at the end - I actually said goodbye to the massage chair. ::rolls eyes::

Marley, listen, it's ok. It you really wanted it, you should have gotten it. Our sarcasm shouldn't dissuade you from your dreams. :D But if his arms broke into birds, it really would be keeping with the whole "Fly" theme.

With respect to doing this post-tattoo, don't worry about it. With respect to it being your calf, from some of the laments around here, there is sometimes more swelling and hobbling around with lower leg tattoos. But my guess is if it's mostly just lining, you'll probably have some pain but not much trouble. Elevate your leg between tours. Good luck on the session!

I feel like its very clichéd, everyone gets their arm done first. Clichéd? Try to make your decisions about things like this based on what you want rather than what you think other people do or what current fashion is. If you want a feather turning into birds, get a feather turning into birds. Jeez, speaking of clichéd - all the rest of you do is jump on the panthers, skulls and roses bandwagon. Think of something more original already, k?

There are SO many things that could be done with that pearl! The tentacles of the octopus could cradle it or hold it at the tips of its tentacles while moving in some direction. Jellyfish could do that too. A crab could have its claws up and hold it in its claws like a trophy. A clam is boring, and I don't know your artist, but if that's the only thing they could come up with, that's disappointing in the creativity department. Absolutely tell him you don't like that idea. Maybe talk to other artists in your area?

I was just gonna say that! This is going to be an amazing piece, @Shaggy!

@bongsau - oh suck it up. Seriously, you must be overreacting. Haven't you learned to hover yet? Amateur. -
@bongsau - wow, congrats on surviving that. Hell of a description - through the mental wringer. You rock.
