Every time I see something on SOG's instagram or monmoncats instagram about prints and books running out, I end up going over there and ordering another print. AND I'M SUPPOSED TO BE SAVING FOR THE NEW ONES COMING OUT IN THE FALL!! lol.

I sit in a massage chair with my face through the ring. I generally wear a camisole (one of the ones with the boob rack) during most of my back work - I just move it all around to fit whatever part of my back we are working on. For the location you are talking about, you might take one one strap down under your arm pit (I also do that when healing). I generally take both straps down to pull it lower. But since my chest is pressed against the cushion of the massage chair, clothing doesn't move or slide once we start. And I wear a backwards hoodie. Actually, two of them because I get cold easily. Good luck!

I was remembering the discussion we had about the color combination at the top of your BOUY and misremembered it as a lighthouse - my mistake. Peanut butter and chocolate is good, in all senses! I don't know the difference between the blue birds / bluebirds, but I hope you can find a resolution that makes both of you happy. And thanks for the feedback - I've never had a reef aquarium. I'm afraid I'd kill all the fish.

Ok, I'm gonna be a little blunt, so sorry in advance for sticking my nose in. I'm writing this like a friend-to-friend and not trying to come down on you. And FYI I'm a chick. You've talked in other threads about the disagreements between you and your wife about your tattoos - to the point that you've hidden them wearing a shirt at night and using a separate bathroom. Now she has shown interest your getting a tattoo that represents her. That seems to be a HUGE step in a positive direction for both of you and for your relationship! Huge! Wonderful! She asked for a swallow. She actually picked something out specifically - not something huge, but something that *she* felt would represent her to you. I'm having trouble understanding why you don't just find a good swallow and go for it. You've got lots of square footage, and if I recall, you already have a lighthouse (do I remember correctly?). Not like you can't have 100 lighthouses, but how would she interpret you ignoring her request for a swallow to get a second lighthouse tattoo with something else thrown in? Or trying to force fit a swallow into another design? I would feel dissed. I would feel like you didn't care about my feelings but just used it as an excuse to get another tattoo that you wanted, and made me an after thought in the design. Or got a completely separate design that you thought I would like just because it had my hair color. I don't know your situation and I could be way off base (in which case, ignore all this), but this could go wrong in a bad way. You mention surprising her with something memorable that *isn't* what she wanted. Who would that tattoo be more memorable for, you or her? Who *should* it be more memorable for? Ok, hope that didn't come across too rudely. Back to your regularly scheduled program. - - - Updated - - - Did you see this thread? http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/tattoo-designs-books-flash/5477-swallow-tattoos.html

Every time I see @ThatGuy 's backpiece, I just die. It has to be one of my favorite tattoos of all time.

^^^ Why is everyone with really awesome tattoos-in-progress talk about their "mediocre" tattoos? Self-deprecating is one thing, but come ON! I love the Fudo and dragon having sort of an eyeball at one another.

If you think it's a pos worthy of being included with all the absolute horrendous crap in this thread, you should just blast it over with something else and be done with it.

Looks like you've got a bit of time to torture yourself on this one!

I realized it was fireworks, but I didn't see immediately that they were originating with hearts. I like it fine. If it was me, I'd probably ask a good artist if it could be enhanced with some black or something and make it pop a little more. Nothing extreme. Just my opinion. But like others have suggested, wait until it's fully healed before you make any decisions.

@bnanners - "might fit in over here". Heh AWESOME!!! This is an incredible piece. Wow.

New guy from Idaho, looking for help and advice about future tattoos

I love scrimshaw! Check out this thread, mentions Rhode Island. http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/tattoo-designs-books-flash/3798-scrimshaw.html -
Well, you may have read it months ago, but clearly you didn't act on it. I was acting very generously by looking specifically at Inksanity's reviews and giving you feedback on how to help Inksanity's ratings. I did this because I was genuinely interested in helping your shop overcome some of the issues that are frustrating you. If you re-read my post, I spent that time trying to help you for no reason other than to help. I wasn't simply regurgitating what Yelp has, with no additional information. It's clear from your response that you didn't appreciate anything I offered; in fact, you were rather dismissive.

@exmember88 - they can sue Yelp all they want. Just because you read it doesn't make it true. Doesn't make it false, either. And just because you think it's a scam, doesn't mean it doesn't influence potential customers. I spent some time researching and I gave you some concrete feedback based on your shop that you could use to increase your rating and perceived professionalism. So yeah, you're welcome. And you should seriously have your owner remove her rant response. It only makes things worse.

Welcome! There are folks here who can give you good recommendations in your area.

In this thread, we commiserate about healing our fresh tattoos.

Don't pick at it. How is it doing now? You will (or probably already have had) the outer skin falling off. Color in the upper layer will come off - that is normal. -
This isn't the right thread for this discussion. Go back over to your intro thread and ask this question or wait until you can start your own thread to do so - there are folks here who can give you recommendations for great places/people in your area. And yeah like @polliwog said, check out the thread http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/general-tattoo-discussion/2396-what-makes-good-tattoo.html. You'll learn a lot about being able to judge tattoo quality.

I can't find a thread about cat tattoos that doesn't involve Horitomo! I just ran across this day of the dead cat and I think it's kinda cool - something about the eyes. Nate Beavers.

Yup. Recommendations, bragging and info always welcome.

I think she likes you. Sounds like you can take it. ;) -
I *really* want to try this so I asked my tattooer. He said he doesn't recommend something that he hasn't done on one of his own tattoos first, so he doesn't want me to do it because he hasn't tried it. So, he's the boss and I'll follow directions until my back is done, but for anything else, I'm definitely going to give it a try based on what everyone is saying. I would LOVE to go for days without sticking to my work clothes and gunking up stuff.

Yeah, we're pretty bad, right? You join and everyone expects you to be completely familiar with the software and uploads and wants to see it all right away :-) Take your time and wander around.

Looks nice! It's been neat to read this thread from the beginning, and see how all of this has progressed and your thinking along with it. Thank you for sharing that - very insightful.
