  2. Welcome to the forum!
  3. La Ronde is an awesome amusement park La Ronde - Member of the Six Flags family Old Montreal is a cool place to go look around Historic City Center: Old Montreal I guess you can just google the different areas and piles of stuff comes up. What sort of stuff are you looking to do while in Quebec?
  4. I have a few different styles on me as it stands now and I am sure there will be many more to be added as I do have other ideas to what I want to get next.(once my sleeve is done) I believe the biggest key is to work with quality artists that can visualize what you have and how to blend it with the new pieces that your planning to add. Most artists that I know have art from many different artists and don't mind it when your collection from other artists grows too.(It can make for some cool stories) If you have a favorite artist that you get work done from often, I am sure you can talk to them about it and what they think of the idea. It just might help you out in picking out other designs and locations for them.
  5. So far I have been through about half of the list and I have really enjoyed firewater and white lies
  6. Thanks guys I will check these out!! I was getting. . . not tired of the regular music I listen to but more afraid of the songs I listen to becoming over played and wanted to throw in some new tunes to switch it up a bit
  7. I will check them out! Thanks
  8. I think my Itunes has a radio function I should check it out and write down names of bands and songs I like! LOL thanks for the reminder on that I totally forgot.
  9. I usually listen to alternative, or rock. I have hip hop and reggae, with some country. I have some heavy metal and rockabilly. as I said I like all sorts of music.
  10. So very true I have used something close to that too but I will post it in a while after a few more posts have come up
  11. I have been asked how many I have too but I usually say that my sleeve counts for only one but 4 total. Most of the time its my friends asking and they are not being all snooty about it. as we are usually comparing tattoos LOL so no need for a zippy comeback
  12. By give it a good try before I delete it off my playlists, I mean that I would only delete it if it turns out that I don't enjoy that particular tune. LOL
  13. Maybe its because where we live, but its not that common for a woman to have a sleeve tattoo, so maybe thats why my wife gets comments all the time. Another one that she has encountered was at Tim Hortons after our car club cruise night. We get some Tea and go to get a table. There is this old guy that is a regular there and looks at Sarah and says "Holy Cow look at all those tattoos!! What are you going to do about that when your old??". To that she replied, "Well probably when I am old like you, I'll either not give a rat's ass what young people think, or I'll be crazy like you, either way it won't matter". His buddy at the other table piped up and said "HAHAHA she's got you there!". LOL good times! :)
  14. I know we all listen to some music, and not everyone listens to the same stuff. I am looking for some new music to listen to, and add to my playlists. I like to have music playing in the background when I am working in my shop, playing on the computer or going for my runs. Anyone have any suggestions for me? I will listen to just about anything. At least give it a good try before I delete it off my playlists. :)
  15. True, very true. I just think that if it were harder to get into then it would stop someone who is not passionate about it from getting into it just for trying to be something they are not
  16. Maybe you're on a blog somewhere or they sold your photo to an ad campaign in the asian countries hoping that you would never see it. (that has happened to a friend of my wife's)
  17. I know this is only a theory and would be something almost impossible to pull off but maybe if we could look at this more so in the same light as the skilled trades do. You would first have to be taken on by an artist at their shop. Thus becoming a registered apprentice with the skill trades. Your apprenticeship should be a set amount of hours, with school time integrated into that time frame. The schooling should consist collage level courses in: Business management, Fine art, Proper procedures of sterilization on equipment and work spaces. Maybe some other courses too that I am not thinking about. The time spent at the shop would be to help put the learned skills from school to use, and learn from the tattoo artist about techniques and trade secretes. Once all the hours and school time is complete there should be some sort of final test from the schooling and with the tattoo artist that you finished your apprenticeship with. The whole thing would help generate jobs in ministry or government (keeping track of the apprentices and their hours and school courses) and it would help keep some people from trying to take advantage of shortcuts into the tattoo industry. Don't forget that a long time ago Fine art was also a skilled trade where as you needed to be taken on by a master to learn the trade. I am just spit-balling an idea from what I read.
  18. Hey everyone, Now I am sure we have all had people come up to us and have some negative comment thrown at us about our tattoos. What have been some actual quick thinking comebacks you have used to sort of defend/make the idiot go away. I'll start it off: My wife and I were in a clothing store and this lady comes up to us and said "Look at that awful tattoo, I don't like to see that on a woman". My wife's zippy comeback was "Ya well I don't like to see a mustache and a beard on a woman either but there is nothing I can do about yours..." We laughed and she walked away all frown faced LOL
  19. Well I must say I have enjoyed this thread. So guess its my turn. My name is Jonathan Rockel. I am 32 years old and I live in Ontario, Canada. I am a plumber by trade with my local union. I live out in the country as I can't stand having a neighbors roof overhanging my own, that and it would be hard to keep my 2 horses in the back yard LOL. I have a little 9 and a half year old teacup Maltese who is only 5 pounds of pure fun. I got my first tattoo back when I was 19 and I have been slowly over the years getting more. The long gaps are only due to not making that much money or other priorities. I have big plans for more but I am going to have my sleeve finished first before I have a new one started. As AlannaCA had said that she has set goals for herself before she can get another tattoo, I have been doing the same now for the past 3 years. I love having a project to do, whether its fixing something around the house or building something. I have the most amazing wife in the world!! who I have been with for almost 11 years now. We both love tattoos and the art involved. We are both involved with our local classic car club. We currently cruise in our '79 Ford Thunderbird heritage edition. Its basically stock except for rims, tires and exhaust. I love to treat others as I wish to be treated, Kindness goes a whole lot further, giving others a sense of hope for humanity.
  20. I've heard that the chlorine in a pool can break down the ink in a tattoo causing it to fade. I also heard that putting vasoline on it will help protect the skin and the tattoo while swimming in a chlorinated pool. I have never found any official write up on this but I had a tattoo that broke down and faded from what I believe was just that. To be fair I was swimming about 4-5 times a week for a about 2-3 hours.
  21. Its funny that I am posting a reply to my own comment but it is relevant. I found hot or cold water to wash the fresh tattoo does not seem to matter for healing time. Cold water feels more soothing to the area and with summer heat its a nice way to cool off before bed time LOL :)
