Anyone have any good Raleigh,NC traditional shops/artist suggestions? Tried googling it, but the results seemed like a crap shoot.

Who do you think deserves some recognition?

@David Flores where is Dave Lum now? I've been thinking about maybe getting something from him at some point too. Anyone have any examples of what his recent tattoos look like? Or is it just like what he was doing in Tattootime? -
19th Richmond Tattoo Arts Festival!!!!!!

I'll be there, just got my tickets in fact. Looks like there are going to be tons of great artists. Has anyone been in previous years? -
How have I missed this thread!? I've read all of Pynchon's books! It was such a great surprise when Inherent Vice came out. With how old he is and how long it usually takes him to finish a book I thought for sure Against the day would be his last. Now I'm feeling greedy, hope he has a couple more in him. Gravitys rainbow is his best. But they're all worth a read. Also lots of weird occult shit in GR which shows up so much in tattooing nowadays.

Shitballs. Double post.

Remember what Todd Barry said about neck tattoos. "You forgot to not do that." But seriously, I don't see myself ever being ever able to get my hands or neck done. I always thought it'd be a cool retirement gift to myself to get my hands done. It's such a great spot. Hopefully when I get to that age, retirement will still exist.

@Deity Complex are those Zelda hearts? I forget who, but someone on here has mentioned doing several zelda tattoos. I always loved the Zelda games. Also, welcome.

Ha! That face is so Dave Fox. Nice start and welcome. That's exactly how I started out too. Two shoulder pieces from Dave.

I love his stuff! I have a couple of recent ones from him (past two years). I've seen that Deno piece in person. It goes right across his arm ditch. It's a mindblower. I also got the chance to see some old flash of his from like 2000 in a shop in Philly. Its pretty neat to see the progression. Chinatown Eddie's if anyone is local.

@Ursula I think I remember seeing the drawing for this on Jeff's blog. I loved it then and I'm loving it now! Your man is a lucky man. I'd love to get something from Rassier someday.

I've also been told I have great skin for color. I practically glow in the dark I'm so goddamned pale. I don't think I'll ever ruin my tattoos in the sun because I've never really been able to be out in it for very long anyways.

I got some flash from some guys who knew I'm a collector. They did not seem to mind at all. It was prints anyways. I try to get original art whenever I can, but for this particular artist, I'm not sure if I'll ever be lucky enough to own an original. On the flip side I could see tattooers being a little tentative to sell original/rare sheets to non-tattooers.

Hey. Wanna hear the most annoying noise in the world? Then I make the noise as loud as I possibly can. I'm surprised I haven't lost friends over this.
