Welcome @Ezekiel I think you can stop looking ;) Are you considering lasering something yourself? here's a couple good threads on the subject: http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/tattoo-removal-coverup/923-tattoo-cover-up-pictures-before-after.html http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/tattoo-removal-coverup/1687-laser-not.html @ian just started his second backpiece with Grime, and in this thread he has generously shared information and pictures from his laser removal sessions up til recently: http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/tattoo-removal-coverup/1663-my-laser-chronicles.html

Hello and welcome @William Bergen Tattoo Age and LST interviews are the cream of the crop as far as internet available information on tattooing goes, so it seems you struck gold my friend. @slayer9019 made a great thread a while back that might interest you: http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/tattoo-tv-shows-documentaries-media/2494-tattoo-history-videos-books.html So, do you have any idea of what you want, and who you want get tattooed by yet?

Thanks. This was my only tattoo for seven or eight years, so it actually has a weird sentimental value to me now.

My first tattoo, done in the late 90's. The original design was for my dad's one-man guitar repair business called "the guitar doctor". It was based off of the ambulance symbol, only with a guitar neck and two snakes instead of one. Judging from the borderline he put there, I don't think Grime liked it very much, haha. It's not going anywhere though.

Finally @hogg Been waiting for that one. Now I want to see a photo of it besides the killer tattoo you have from Theo Mindell on your other knee ;) Come to think of it, I also have a "not very recent" tattoo that I haven't posted before. Chris Conn, Sekretcity.

Velkommen skal du være gamle @Bardun :)

@phickey Love it! You must be so stoked.

Agreed! My tattoos are more precious to me than almost any materialistic item in my life. The "can't be stolen, broken or lost" aspect makes a strong selling point. I lose and break shit all the time.

I remember feeling awkward after the first session I did on my front. It was really weird to look at myself in the mirror afterwards. Only took a couple days to get used to though. Besides that one time, I can't say that I've been anything else than stoked after getting a new tattoo.

@istunn Wow! Phoenix is not in my top list for subject matter, and I have yet to get a b/g tattoo. Seeing yours makes me badly want one though. That is simply amazing man. Horitomo's stuff is mindblowing. Have you seen the tattooed cats he's been painting lately? @Ben87 I envy you guys that get your backpieces from your shoulders down to the bottom of your ancles (does it wrap around your legs as well?). Really powerful look. I have yet to see one in person. My head will probably explode the day I do.

Look what I just stumbled over! FST: On the Shoulders of Giants is a documentary film, currently in production by Stewart Robson, a tattooer at Frith Street Tattoo (FST) in London. This project is expected to be completed in late 2013. Shooting started in August 2012. Stewart has interviewed his friends and colleagues, some of them world-renown in tattoo circles but all of them have worked in the cramped infamous basement shop in the heart of London’s seedy soho district, to share this portrait of one of the most interesting, vibrant and influential modern tattoo shops. FST: On the Shoulders of Giants There's a bunch on cool teasers from the different interviews on the blog too. I'm super stoked for this to come out! You gotta share stuff like this with us @Stewart Robson - - - Updated - - - This was great by the way! (Also by Stewart)

Sorry to be the one who says this, but that "tattoo" is never going to look good. Like ever... (please don't stop reading here) If you didn't mention that it's supposed to be a pig I don't think anyone could have figured that out from just from looking at it. It just looks like you burnt your arm on the stove or something. Shop or not, friend of best friend or not, that guy should not be putting tattoos on people. My advice would be to give it a few months to heal properly, then seek a professional tattooer to get it covered. It doesn't look like it's going to be too hard to cover, but I'm not a tattooer, so that's just me guessing. There are really good tattooers frequenting this board that might be able to weigh in on that part. I don't mean to be a dick and tell you that your new tattoo looks like shit, but if you just save up a little coin and go to a professional tattooer you can get that covered with something that will look infinitely better than what you've got on your arm now. If you poke around this site a couple hours you'll soon find out what good tattoos look like. I'm also sure that the good folks here will point you to some great shops and artists in your neck of the woods if you're interested.
