I've been thinking of getting an Ashley Love chubby pinup girl someday, but I was wondering where you all decided to put your pinup tattoos. I probably don't have the personality/lady balls to wear a really visible one on my arm, but I have no idea where you'd put one other than an arm or a leg.

Bearded men + tattooed women = PASSION KILLERS!
polliwog replied to TrixieFaux's topic in WTF in the News
I'm a (minimally) tattooed woman with a (minimally) bearded man. No problems so far. However, I can always become more tattooed, whereas his ability to grow a larger beard is limited... -

Pardon the naivety and the rhetorical question, but how does anyone get through the sore/swollen healing stage of an ass tattoo? I'm a side sleeper and had a hard time not rolling onto my arm, but presumably you can't choose to not sit...

That's pretty much what I was planning on (asking & figuring I'd budget for the highest). There are enough parameters for the design that an estimation shouldn't be a totally silly request. Thanks!

Hey everyone, Just wondering when it's appropriate to ask for a ballpark cost estimate when you've sort of roughly left the design & size up to the artist. I need to be prepared, but of course I would like to be polite about it.

Not to sound too creepy or anything, but I'm always ridiculously jealous every time you post pictures of your arms.

I've been loving the Gibson girl heads Ron Wells has been doing lately and was wondering if anyone on here has an adaptation of a Gibson girl. I particularly like "The Eternal Question" based on Evelyn Nesbit - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, who has a pretty fascinating/tragic life story. I didn't used to think I'd want a girl head...

Cara Delevigne's going to have a lot to answer for.

Every job I've had has centered around printed books, which should explain how I feel. I've tried reading on an ereader my bookstores sells - it's pretty much like a Kindle Paperwhite, from what I understand - and found it really distracting and strange. But I can see how they'd be good for traveling. Anyway, I'm currently reading Mastering the Art of Soviet Cooking. I don't usually go for food memoirs, but this one is good. Edward St Aubyn's been my favorite author this past year.

Now I'm going to be heartbroken about my inability to afford a plane fare to Germany... Does she ever travel to the US? -

Plainskins say the darndest things...

I have no idea what this means, but it's funny anyway. There definitely are Boston suburbs where you hardly see any tattoos - I work in one... -
Going to be getting a tattoo from Ron Henry Wells in the spring. (Hopefully I won't drive him crazy. I think I got my predilection for nervous talking out of my system with the first tattoo, though.) So excited for this one and amazed that someone whose work I love this much isn't even far away.

I'm also curious about how you go about protecting a place like your inner bicep or inner thighs during healing, especially when wearing heavier winter clothing. The former's going to be relevant to me in the spring, hopefully.

Holy shit that's excellent.

I read this entire thread - it's really helpful to people like me who are new to getting tattooed. So some good's coming out of it, even though it's a downer.

Apologies if this has been posted already, but I couldn't find anything... Another thread made me wonder if anyone here was into old stereo components and/or repairing them. My own setup is modest. I have a Mac 1700 tube/solid state receiver, some New Large Advent speakers, a direct drive Sony turntable from the late 70s that's surprisingly solid with a Grado Gold cartridge, and a totally nondescript CD player that I'd like to replace. I'm actually a little more interested in tinkering with old stuff than in collecting really top-notch components (which I don't have the money for, anyway). So far I've only done pretty basic stuff like replacing capacitors, but I dream of having a bench set up someday.

Artists who copy tattoos/styles

Re: Internet parallel realities, they often threaten to swallow up...well, reality. Thanks for your response. As I've been looking at portfolios, I've enjoyed getting a feel for how an artist's personality shows through in their work (or doesn't). I'm certainly not yet at a point where I can see the history, too.
