For TATTOOERS ONLY, what's your biggest pet peeve?
Mr. Frog replied to dari's topic in Crazy Tattoo Stories
I actually love getting a free deposit and then taking walk-ins. Usually end up doing more work and the prick that blew you off paid for your lunch that day. Unless it's a design I was really stoked for.- 158 replies

I hate the dude that wants Dollar signs and references to Big Money and Ballin' tattooed all over. Then the jagoff haggles with you and is broke as fuck. I'm like oh I thought you was Ballin' playah. You better go play at the Flea Market Tattoo Stand. Maybe get come coins instead of paper tatted on you.- 158 replies

For TATTOOERS ONLY - most hated tattoo requests?

I try to do everything I can. I have bills and rent. I'm not the best tattooer and haven't been doing it as long as a lot of you guys. So, if I think I can't do a tattoo justice I will pass it to someone that can. Some people want ghetto ass shit and will get it done from some joker that's gonna probably fuck it up. Or lip tats, etc. So if it's do-able, I will most likely do it. It's also common sense, like don't tattoo some 18 yr old kids face. However if the guy who has a bunch of crap and has done prison time wants a face tat...."Get in the chair bud."- 196 replies

I had an older woman ask if she could waft some sage around my station before I tattooed some symbol on her. Since we were the only ones in there....I was like..."Fine go ahead." Bitch didn't tip either.

Ha. My First WAS a tribal dragon on my leg. I was about 18 and the legal age was still 21 in Illinois. I looked really young for my age back then, but I was wearing a Flight Jacket and Doc Martens, so they must've figured I wasn't gonna get the shop in trouble. It was in the old location of The Tattoo Factory, and the guy who did it still works there. It's 16 yrs old, still solid black though.

I cannot believe Mario didn't mention the Smiths, or Morrissey. I guess that's just a given.

I can't work without music playing. I'm sure the rest of you are the same. What are you currently listening to at your workplace? Also, what do you think is appropriate/tasteful? I like to listen to mellow stuff if I am working an early shift. Maybe cut loose a little later in the day. Lately a lot of 60's reggae, Blues, 70's and 80's punk. Not so into tattooing to crazy Grindcore , Death Metal, or Stoner Rock. I also think some of my customers would rather not be tattooed to real loud, brash music. What are YOU currently listening to? Also do you care about what your customers think of your musical tastes?
