Thanks Dan! July I'll have a couple to share again, and Kyle is taking bookings for August from this Sunday and I am really keen to have him do one of those flipped demon/lady heads on my other thigh, or / and the horse on my left inner bicep... soooo.... but after that I may slow off again until next year.

I'm playing catch up since I haven't been on this site in years! so the last tattoo I shared was my sternum which I got back in 2016 Fresh Then in 2021 I started my thigh (totally different designs to what I'd previously discussed here I'm pretty sure) The outline was the first session, 5.5hrs and easy going. the outline was done in the April by Dan in June I went back to the same shop and saw Kyle who did my Kraken I then returned to Dan in the July for colour on my thigh. We thought it would be finished this appointment, but at the 6 or 6.5hr mark my thigh was that hard and swollen that it was unworkable. I then returned in the September to get my panther dagger from Kyle and to finish my thigh with Dan. We added the red circle, thorns and bit of other colour. That rose near my arse sucked! And the sections where it's 3 shades on top of eachother.... bloody spicy! Otherwise it was really fine. The panther was easy peasy. I didn't get any tattoos in 2022. (I'll start a new post for 2023 tattoos... the pics won't add in here ) So, nothing in 2022. Then 2023, I went to book back in with Kyle and Dan but they were both booked. I then found they had a new apprentice. After checking his stuff out I found he had quite a lot I liked. Feb- little axe March- I went in for 2 little birthday bangers. A strawberry and a Diamond (strawberry left wrist near panther dagger, Diamond near top of dagger) April- swallow on inner right arm and butterfly on inner left arm Then June I saw Kyle for a lucky rabbit foot near my swallow and a circus elephant on the right inner bicep. Everyone talked it up to be a shit spot to get tattooed, but I found it was fine to get. The healing is what was shit- swollen, bruised and pins and needles(likely from the swelling) . I'm keen to get a horse on the other inner bicep! I finally get to see Dan next month for a snake/flower combo on the right top of forearm, but before that I'll see Andrew again for a dragon and a couple of others on my shins 🙂

It is now forever since this post, I would love to see what you ended up getting!

I did a search last night, but the images within the tattoo thread I found aren't all available for one reason or another. I love American Traditional and variations thereof. My right arm is starting to fill up and I'm thinking of getting my elbow done before it reduces to too much of an odd space. My left arm has heaps of room , but I thought I'd also get the elbow on the left done while I have more room to work with. I'd love to see what you did with your elbows , if they were done earlier in the arm journey or later! I'm unsure what I'll go with as I keep flopping between wanting roses on both , or having two totally different designs.

leg tattoo - this pic was taken after it's final session (it is now 2 years old). First session was outline which was fine. Second session was bulk of the colour , had to stop after 6 hours cos she was all sorts of 3D- swollen pretty bad and Dan could not do any more with it. Final session finished off roses, thorns and the red circle behind the crow. Got a few smaller pieces coming up to go on shins, before I add to other thigh.

It has been forever since I have been on this forum! Been super busy with life and remembered this awesome group! I have just uploaded the last few tattoos I have had- during covid in 2021... I got a thigh piece done- hip to knee. skulls, roses, crow (posted pic in bird gallery) which ended up taking 3 sessions: one for outline which was a 5hr appointment, first lot of colour which was super close to being finished but after 6 hrs my thigh was crazy swollen to the point it was not workable, then final was to finish thorns and the red circle behind the crow; a kraken taking down a ship (posted in nautical gallery)- easy session with Kyle , and a panther dagger combo (animal gallery) also with Kyle. That was right around when our shops were yo-yoing here between being open and shut down. Start of this year (feb- pic in object gallery) I got a little axe on outer right forearm by the new apprentice- Binger, near the wrist; March a little diamond and strawberry on my birthday (both in object gallery) also Binger, April a swallow on right inner forearm and butterfly on left inner forearm (bird and butterfly galleries respectively) also Binger , then last weekend I got a lucky rabbit's foot (object gallery) on my right inner forearm which sits under my swallow (toward the wrist) and a circus elephant on right inner bicep by Kyle(animal gallery) . I have two appointments booked for July- as I work in a school, I have booked a day with the apprentice during the school holidays (he did my axe, diamond, strawberry, butterfly and swallow) for 4 more- getting a dragon on the right arm, a trio of roses under the right knee, sad cloud front of ankle on the shin (right) and skull and cross bones on same placement, opposite leg. (hope that makes sense) End of July I am booked with Dan (did my thigh) who will do a snake/carnation combo on right outer forearm. Dan books 3 months in advance and his appointments fill up fast. Kyle is only booking a month at a time, while Binger takes everyone as he can. I will add pics once these appointments arrive 🙂 now to go back through and see what everyone has been getting while I have been absent from here! I was a huge Michelangelo fan as a kid! Mum reluctantly gave in to me getting a "boy's toy" when I was 7- a Michelangelo figure with nun-chucks and a working parachute! That toy shit all over Barbie I tell you 😄 Wow , so close to completion! I bet that's a bizarre feeling! Looking forward to the photos!

hey @keepcalm , I only have one arm tattoo so far , its on the under/ outer side of my forearm. My arms aren't massively hairy, but the artist did need to shave the area anyway and the hair grew back no different to my other arm which is tattoo free in the same area. Everyone is different I guess, but I woud assume as a once off you woudnt notice much difference. I remember a girl in high school shaved her arms all the time and the hair always grew back rather intense, but my guess is that's due to the repeated shaving.

Been chatting to the local tattooist who did my sternum (heart and daggers). Am after a crows/skulls/roses piece on my outer right thigh. He is keen to make a start, probably looking at Feb. He does a lot of American traditional and neo traditional, I told him I'm happy for him to just have at it and do what he likes with it. Really keen to see what he comes up with!

I've tried to write this before and it just wasn't working, see how we go this time! Well after getting the pipes on my outer forearm (may 2015) I started plotting what would come next. For my Step Dad I want a ship in a stormy sea being taken down by the Kraken and for my Dad I want a deer head inside a rose being stabbed by arrows. ( actual hunting arrows capable of doing damage, not those whispy hipster pinterest style ones) Over the space of a year I played around with ideas before settling on those while also researching ideas on a memorial tattoo for a baby I'd lost years ago. I have my living children's initials on me with stars and hated that I had nothing for her. Not feeling satisfied with the stock standard memorial tattoo I came up with the idea of a tarot card . Three of swords. It's a heart being stabbed by three swords. Looking at it the right way up it means pain to the heart, love loss. In reverse (upside down) it's like moving past or overcoming that pain. Very fitting. It was a very healing tattoo for me. Doesn't fix situations , but I feel a bit of peace now. The tattoo sits under my bust , I was shitting bricks to be honest - figuring it was going to be pretty intense. But that in no way was going to deter me, I was just going to have to suck it up or pass out . Surprisingly it was easy to sit for. Cat stratch or same as when you scratch a mozzie bite too much. The tops of the daggers hurt the most but even so were only a 4/10 at most. I'm convinced my nerves are shot, cos I shouldn't have sat that well. (Honestly - I hate pain!!) I must say I completely love the tattoo. The design was the artists work (I just explained the card and said I'd like it with daggers instead and in a traditional style, but happy for him to play with it ) This is a healed picture, I can see a couple spots that need a touch up so I will sort that out soon.

My first tattoo was a trail of seven butterflies going from the front of my right hip up and around my side. I was 19 and at the time the first two sat in my undies line and the last one closer toward my back. 4 kids and 12 years on, they sit very differently ? poor things have been through a fair bit! In the past I wanted to either rework them or add to them, but now I'm too sentimental and like them all stretched and sad looking ?

Been busy with work and lots of family stuff going on (sister) so haven't done anything since May. Next in line it's a toss up between my Deer head in a rose being stabbed by arrows (hunting arrows not whispy piss ant hipster arrows) or a ship being taken down by the kraken. Thinking deer first cos I'm trying to convince Dad to get a tattoo too ? . Both ideas are reserved for right arm somewhere, depending where Michael thinks they would suit best.
