  1. don't tell me moons are a trend now too? fark!!! my owl is going to have a full moon with it. you have no idea how close I am to scrapping my left thigh idea!!! with owls popping up E-V-E-R-Y-W-H-E-R-E...... and now moons. all I need is to add "let it be" and a fucking infinity symbol... im going to go now and cry in a corner....
  2. ok show us your thighs! im getting mine done soon so am getting a little too excited and want to see what you all have tattooed there. im going for front of thigh. right a raccoon, left an owl ( yeah I know- and trust me,i am pissed that owls have become so popular.) both with other stuff added (I will add pics once its drawn up) I am thinking of going with a traditional style but will see what they come up with. ive been tossing between 2 ideas- the animals or nautical. so will just have to wait and see which way I go yet!! share any details you'd like too- when you got it, how well you went, how long it took, who did it....
  3. yay!!*high 5* me either!!! I was starting to think I was the only one in the world :) - - - Updated - - - this reminds me also of people who wear band shirts but have yet to hear the music. or can only name 3 of their hit titles that any window licker could point out - ...
  4. a mate of ours has some black light ink through a large tattoo. the tattoo is skulls and pistons and looks amazing and the black light is just in the eyes ( the skull has eyeballs). I personally wouldn't get it- but I don't mind the idea of the black light ink as an enhancer.... but to just get a black light ink tattoo to me is no different to wanting a tiny upside down wrist tattoo in white ink cos you are too much of a fucking puss bag to actually commit to a real tattoo - the right way up- bigger than a 10cent piece.....
  5. Are the front of the thigh really so bad?? Was thinking it wouldn't be. That's where I'm getting tattooed next. I only have hip/side and part of my back done so far. The hip/side was fine. Ben the boney bits. Back was fine all bar one letter and one star ( the a and the big star with it) it felt like a hot knife being dragged through me. The rest was fine- just that one spot!
  6. *fingers in ears* lalalalalala- DO NOT TELL ME THAT lol- front of thighs is my next! - - - Updated - - - as for the video- my god woman! really?
  7. Love it @WeRnDoG! ABSOLUTELY LOVE SKULLS- am considering skulls with roses after I do my thigh animals.
  8. do it @Dan!! Adelaide is beautiful, I have only been there once with a bunch of friends and loved it. Bonus having free accommodation! definitely take them up on that offer! My tattoos cant really be seen anyway but there are staff members with visible tattoos and they aren't told to cover them up. pet kangaroo with generic tribal! pmsl ... no . we did have a Galah. He was a bastard lol. well he loved me but he hated men. My husband couldn't go in the cage and even if he or our male friends went near the cage he would go off! just a budgie and a dog now. yeah there are only about 3 kids in our room that are.... hmmm.... "challenging" ... the rest are brilliant.
  9. HA!!am also wondering what tattoos id end up with ..... (!!!)
  10. ugh..... im sorry but scratchers fucking irk me. I was friends with a young girl who often spruked about her tattooist bpyfriend. then I met him and learnt he wasn't actually a tattooist- he was just someone who acquired some equipment and stencils and did really shit work on himself, his girlfriend and their mates. another old friend began hanging around them and I bumped into her months later noticing some new tattoos- she had a design down her forearm and no lie- the colouring was about as good as a VERY young childs. gaps everywhere and even went out the lines!! and she had the hide to talk about how GOOD he was?!?!?!?! I don't know what pisses me off most- the scratcher scaring so many people or the dipshit friends who promote their scribbles as something of worth..... im all for getting a tattoo by a friend who has never used a machine for memory sake or shits n giggles if that's what you want to do- but to have somebody not even practice on anything aside from real people and talk themselves up as if they are professionals?????
  11. @ieatass4free (laughed so hard just then!!) why thank you for the welcome- as for the how do I - I am only casual and it is so different being at work to being mum. I love my job and we have so much fun :) @spookysproul I intend to take full advantage of our artists! would love to have something done by a few different artists in their style. I recently saw some of crispy lennox's work and got excited to see he is at Melbourne (doable travel wise from where I live), but am willing to also research other artists styles before deciding . @Amok - I have read that name before- I will be off flicking through my stash of aust/nz inked magazines now! that name is stuck in my head for one reason or another so im guessing he is in one of them and ive enjoyed what ive seen! agree @Gregor! and thanks @Dumpleton- shall look into your suggestion too! - - - Updated - - - thanks again gregor! will check your link!
  12. have started following some of you- im cherie173. I only have pics of my kids, sewing stuff and random shit I find amusing.
  13. I am enjoying taking my time with getting to the point of being covered. I have a list of tattoos I want, and for the most part its been a lack of funds or the fact I was pushing out babies that prevented me from getting them sooner ;) but I like sitting on an idea for a while and making sure I have it worked out before going in for a consultation. I get that not everyone gets every single tattoo to hold huge meaning ( I have a few in mind that I want that are just because I like the way they will look)- but it does annoy me when I see friends get a heap of stuff done in a small time frame purely for the popularity factor. for me personally- its about the journey.i want to have a fantastic story to tell when im 75, not "oh I got all this done by a guy who offered a cheaper rate all within 18 months".... I want to be able to waffle on for hours :)
  14. that's me ! * nodding head* I hate hate hate it when friends or random strangers without any tattoos start dropping words like tat, inked etc but I don't care one bit when its a person with a tattoo or covered etc, and hey my name here has the word inked ;)
  15. I was Living with My Dad at the time and announced I was going to get a tattoo. He just scoffed and said " If you get one, I'll get one". I said rightio and when I came home he cockily asked if I went through with it- I proudly showed it off.... to this day he still hasn't got a tattoo ;) Nothing has ever been said directly to me about tattoos but there have been passing comments along the lines of not approving too many tattoos etc. but it hasn't and wont stop me :) I just let them (Dad and step Mum) discover new ink . Mum doesn't care.
  16. I work in a Preschool and many of us have tattoos. One of our members has small visible tattoos and its never been an issue with staff or parents. People were surprised when I walked in off duty and they saw my tattoo on my back . Mine are covered 99 % of the time. I guess because most of the parents have tattoos - that's why its never been an issue at my work?? But tattoos are everywhere these days - most of the local grocery store staff have visible ink, bar staff, bank staff.... the list goes on.
  17. Hello there! My name is Cherie and I am new here. I will do a point form intro on myself- cant wait o dive into this site :) 1. I am from Australia 2. I stumbled across this site only yesterday while googling annoyances Tattoo artists have (laughed so hard reading through them!!) 3. Mum of 4 crazy kids and I work at our local preschool. 4. first Tattoo was a trail of 7 butterflies on my hip ( starts on hip bone and goes up around my side)- got it to mark a moment in my life where I was leaving a really shit situation. Next I got my three girls' first initial with stars on my back then later added my son and more stars and a bit of a star trail and colour. Am next getting thigh pieces. raccoon on my right and Owl on my left. 5. Not really sure where my initial interest in tattoos came from but I remember as a little kid being in awe of them and wanting them- and I didn't know anyone with ink as a kid- the only person I saw in the media would have been Angry Anderson I Guess. 6. Cant stand scratchers - nor the idiots who promote their crap as decent work. 7. cant stand people that think they are bad ass just because they have a tattoo. 8. cant help but chuckle when I see a white man with tribal. sorry. I just cant help it. To me tribal is for people with a connection to that tribe some how- one article I read that I felt good with was a white bloke did a sailing trip through the Polynesian islands and had a traditional tribal tattoo done by a local using their symbols etc. that told the story of his trip. brilliant! :) I get that some tattoos are for aesthetic purposes only etc. but for some reason generic tribal just irks me. 9. am yet to attend a tattoo convention but it is on my to do list!! there is one in Melbourne I really want to go to ( rites of passage) and one in Sydney that actually falls close to my birthday (Australian tattoo and body art expo) 10. no I don't have a pet kangaroo.
