  1. Pardon my laziness and also if it may be listed somewhere in another thread, but I'm currently looking for some good American Traditional renditions of dragons, or close to this style as possible at least, and I didn't look through every page on this thread just yet. Does anybody have any good suggestions for references/images/flash/etc. for this? Outside of Hardy and Sailor Jerry, though not excluded by any means. I just haven't really seen too much or can't think of any at this time. Thank you!
  2. Maybe I'm cynical or an asshole or whatever, but not a single piece of me feels bad for people who go to scratchers and then complain about why they got a turd on them forever. Serves them right and they should live with their own mistakes and own up to that instead of trying to always find and place the blame somewhere else. That being said, however, I'm not at all going to promote a scratcher or kitchen wizard at all. There's no place in the world for any of that and I think it's good to get that guys name out there in the article so people will know who he is and to stay away from that. I can understand that a lot of tattooers (and good tattooers at that) started out tattooing their friends/neighbors/enemies/anybody the same way, but they've actually taken the time to get to know the industry and get into shops and LEARN.
  3. Glad they helped you out and you liked them! If it helps anymore too, Kim works at Classic Tattoo in Richmond, VA. and Daryl is at Hold It Down Tattoo in Richmond, VA. as well. Worth the trip to the city if you're into them!
  4. I've always been fond of Kim Graziano's girl heads/faces (@bunnymachine - IG). Also Daryl Rodriguez was busting out some really pretty girls a couple years ago, too (@daryl_rodriguez - IG)
  5. I've been using a mix of Prismacolor micron style pens and Zig Millenium pens (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003TZTDTC/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1634&creative=6738&creativeASIN=B003TZTDTC&linkCode=as2&tag=g0b5bb-21). Both flow super smooth over the paper and never skip like I've found with regular Micron pens have for me in the past. I'm interested in trying out some nibs in the near future, too. Just want to learn more about them and how to use them properly so I'm not messing up the tips.
  6. Thanks everyone for the very warm welcome(s)! And congratulations to myself for being number 6K...so I got that goin' for me, which is nice.
  7. Thank you! Where are you getting your work done at/by whom? So far everything I've seen around this site is great so I'm definitely stoked to find out more of what's to offer!

    Hello LST

Hello world of LST. I found this blog thanks to one of my co-workers who was telling me about it one day and also to Instagram after I saw Nick Colella post a screen shot of the recent Scott Sylvia interview (which by the way if you have yet to see it is absolutely incredible and opens your mind to the way a real professional thinks regarding this industry). I'm from Richmond, VA. and have lived here my entire life. I'm currently a front counter assistant for the shop I work for (Heroes and Ghosts Tattoo - Heroes and Ghosts | Just another WordPress site) and have been here since April of this year. Growing up in this city has thus far been awesome and especially since I have gotten into tattoos/tattooing. There's such a heap of knowledge and talent around this city that it's great to be able to call it my hometown. However there is also a vast majority of turd tattooers and scratchers, but I guess that's life and every place has those so I can't complain about that too much. I'm in a couple of bands (In Courage - incourageva.bandcamp.com : New Solution - newsolution.bandcamp.com/) and have been playing drums since I was in the 6th grade (1999). I love doing so, playing shows, touring, etc. It's just a hobby that I've grown up on that really taught me a ton about life and the world we live in. I recently bought a 1975 Honda CB360 motorcycle and that's becoming a great new-found hobby of mine to work on. Tattooing became an interest of mine when I was probably 16 years old, getting my first tattoo the next year, and the love for the art and industry has blossomed since then. I hope that I can learn and interact as much as possible through this Blog and I am very happy to be here now!
