Thanks. I'll have to look these artists up and see it for myself. My artist is pretty amazing in my eyes. It'll be a while. I just got my back done and contemplating if I want more.

I'm pretty healed now. My spouse told me that it was sure nice to be able to rub my back and it not all being scabby anymore..ha!

So far I have my right lower leg covered and my left 1/4 sleeve on my arm. I also have a full back piece. Oh, forgot about the butterfly on my left foot and the tiny konji on my right wrist. Right now I see myself stopping there for a bit. But I am contemplating my next placement and the subject matter. It's defiantly I put a lot of thought in to. When the time comes, I'm sure I'll be here seeking some advise.

My artist requires 3 weeks between sessions. Unless it is a very large piece where you can skip to a different area. As far as ointment goes. Everyone has an opinion. Mine is it doesn't really matter if you dry heal or use ointment. To much ointment is not good. So none is better than too much.

First please do your research on the artist. Do they have black and grey examples in their portfolios? also do be prepared to have the artist put their own touch on the piece. If I were to bring this in, I will bring a few examples of the Phoenix that I am drawn to. And maybe a few examples of what you do not like. That way the artist can work on his own unique design. Also be prepared for more than one session unless you can sit for 8 hours. I personally don't like too. As far as price goes, on larger pieces artist usually charge by the hour. no way to tell how many hours that would take.

Such a beautiful tattoo @treeoflife. I visited Bangkok a few years back and duly went to Khao San road and got a little dragon konji from Pumpkin Studios. This is probably the worst tattoo Ha, but I love it! Oh how I miss SE Asia.

I don't see many Thai mythological tattoos out there. And the ones I have seen look like crap. I have Japanese(not traditional) and Egyptian. So I think a mix of a little Thai might just fit right in. Thai art is so beautiful. I'm surprised it has not been tatted more often. I just finished a large piece though. So I probably won't start it till next year sometime. Time to start putting it together.

I just finished my last session about 10 days ago on my backpiece I was looking forward to the end. Why? Because my sessions were hit and miss on the pain scale. I have my lower leg from the ankle to the knee covered and a 1/4 sleeve on my arm. I always had the "blues" after those sessions were done and itched for another one. I know nothing will compare to the pain on my back. I am not planning on doing chest, collar bone or rib area. I waited for years to finish my leg because of my job. So for 14 years, I dreamed about finishing it and getting a Buddha and geisha piece. So, maybe it was because I waited so long to get them. Now, not sure where I want to go from here. Not really desiring anything at the moment. I'm leaning towards some Apsara or some Thai mythology. Sure could use some good reference material. I've done all my research for my tats on google.

The bra issue. I always booked my sessions the evening before I had 2 days off, stayed home and went braless. When I had to go back to work, I'd wear one of those sticky bras. I also got a bra extender so that it fit lose around my chest. I also make a point to get tattooed in the winter so I can wear layers and no one really notices. I'm a C cup, but I am 50, and there's that gravity issue.

I wash with some anti-bacterial soap, and then air dry. I apply a very very thin layer of Aquaphor. If I put too much on it feels like it burns. I do this until it starts peeling then I switch to unscented lotion. As my back piece continued I did get lazy and not really use a lot of ointment, and basically dry healed it.

Ya. I'm thinking apsara dancer or something tied in with Angkor Wat tempkes.

I'm so glad I found this thread. Although I never screamed during my back piece, it was brutal at times. I literally saw stars during the session that we did her face and shoulder area. I did this in 2-3 hour sessions. By Matt Dinovo out of Black Squirrel Tattoo in Omaha, NE.

Hmmm..Nope, it's all me. I wonder if I have 2 profiles. I'll figure it out. About getting more. Not that I don't want more. I just don't know where to go from here. I mean, Ill do what I want. Just don't know if I should venture away from asian, since I have the 2 large pieces. Also, my leg sleeve is pure Egyptian. So, do I need to stay along those lines with my other tats or will it seem like I'm totally confused?
