  6. You could buy some books of asian style drawings form BookMistress And Horitaka's State of Grace - Merchandise I'm sure Shige has some nice tattoos of phoenix in his book.I would go visit some shops in your area and look at portfolios and set up some consultations with a couple tattooers who's work you like.Do you wan't it to be realistic,or more of an asian style phoenix? Matt did a nice asian style phoenix on the rib of this guy. Kings Avenue Shane@ Big Kahuna Tattoo & Piercing does nice japanese work. What part of Florida do live?
  7. I didn't mention Mike because I assume he's probably booked up for over a year.
  8. How do you use that feature,I'd like to know too. And Dana left Adorned last year i believe, and is back in Maryland. Also check out David & Rodrigo@ Welcome to North Star Tattoo
  9. Dan & Ricky are of asian descent, and are good tattooers@ http://inkmantattoo.com/ Jose@ Inkstop Tattoo NYC Grez,Kevin,Brian,Matt,& Justin@ Kings Avenue
  10. Dan is a great storyteller...He makes you feel like you were right there with him in that shop.Makes me wish i was a tattooer back then.

Diego Mannino And Karina used to tattoo in SF,but is now in Portland, and is good with lady heads. Karina Figueroa now tattooing in Portland OR - Tattoos Scott Smith Tattoos is the most famous tattooer from Trenton,so i had to include him.
  13. Came across this guy's site from Toronto. Steven Burlton WNY??? Life's a joke, see you in hell!
  14. I met this girl in NYC today that had four cats on her upper from Juan. They were realistic, but done in a traditional style, and were beautiful.
  15. I bet that dude he was tattooing felt awkward when he just got up and started flipping through that magazine. He looked so lonely just sitting there..I bet he was like what the fuck is this dude doing..I hope he's not charging me for all the breaks he's taking. He's the type of tattooer who needs to have a time card, and punch out when he's not tattooing you.
  16. I wouldn't want to be getting tattooed by him,and then halfway into it,he get's up and disappear's for a while..I think that's unprofessional;especially considering your paying a lot of money to be tattooed by him.He was an easy watch though..I like his take on all the hipster's in Williamsburg, and the design he came up with.
  17. Jeff does real nice work..The shop is kind of out of the way,off of the highway in an industrial area. The building looks like an airport hanger. They just legalized tattooing down there a few years ago,and most of the shops are in industrial areas.Hero is the best shop down there.
  18. I like black & grey for portraits..Adam Barton has some in his portfolio where he combines realism with a traditional background that's cool. Tattoos
  19. Music City Tattoo Laura used to work with Marcus Pacheco years ago..I believe she used to be married to him. East Side Iron Jerry Frost does nice realistic work.
  20. Don't sweat the small stuff...And it's all small stuff.I read that in a book..Forget the title..I'm sure I probably come across as opinionated, and maybe even a dick.I think we come on these forums and express our opinion's about subjects, and guess what,we always don't agree with each other. So let's just agree to disagree.Don't take things personal.
  21. I was down the shore at my cousin's house, and was standing in his living room, and my grandmother was sitting in one of those plastic white chairs.Well she had her cane leaned against the wall, and it fell on the floor, and her chair started to shake.I thought the house was haunted..She was like what's going on someone's shaking the chair. It was pretty funny because she kept on turning around to see who was shaking her chair, and there was nobody there.
  22. That dude does real nice work.I remember seeing his stuff when he was only tattooing a few years, and it was good. You know he started out in NH,and he does travel to the east coast to do conventions and guest spots. There's a lot of talented tattooers in Portland.I got tattooed by Jerry Ware@ Atlas Tattoo :: Portland, Oregon They have some real good tattooers there too. What are you thinking of getting from Ryan?
  23. Ideally you would wan't an owner to be a good respectable tattooer. But i know of shops where i live and the owner's are tattooers, but they suck at tattooing, and they hire other shitty artists. And there's still some of those biker owned shops around where the owner cant tattoo to save his life, and he hires his friends to work with him.On the other side,i know of a guy who took over a shop because his friend who was the owner died suddenly. That situation was not good, because he didn't have any tattoos, and he didn't know anything about the business...never worked in a shop before.I know a few shops excluding Adorned that aren't owned by a tattooer, and they seem to be run good, and have good tattooers.
  24. I agree Guy..I think one of the reasons people don't say anything about Adorned is because it was one of the first shops in the city when they legalized, and they have guest artists coming in and making good money while working at a respectable shop.If i was a tattooer and wanted to do a guest spot at a shop in NYC i probably wouldn't be concerned if it was artist owned.I would be concerned if it was a good shop with respectable tattooers.
