  1. Another good tattooer to interview in Brooklyn,is Craig@ Hand of Glory Tattoo He's been tattooing in the city for a long time, and he has two shops in Park Slope that have some good traditional tattooers.
  2. Tim Hendricks was guesting at Kings Avenue, and i drove up there, and put a deposit down for a portrait of my Mom.Well,a few weeks later, and the voices in my head talked me out of it,and i drove back and got my deposit.I ended up getting it done by another artist, and wasn't that happy the way it turned out.Bottom line is-don't listen to the voices in your head.

The dog looked like a mutt.It was just strolling through the shop like it owned it.Pretty funny actually. It was cool because they let me go in the back, and take pictures of all stuff on the walls.
  4. Hey Gouge, yea Nalla's shop is spacious for a shop in the city.I met John when he was working at Thicker Than Water, and spoke briefly about some tattooers we know in Jersey.I check out your blog on a daily basis..If your in Brooklyn, you should try to get an interview with Mike Perfetto. He did a koi fish on me like 10yrs.ago,and it still looks fairly new.

Guess i should have introduced myself before posting, but didn't even think about it. I'm Joe,and I'm very passionate about tattoos.I've been getting tattooed for 19yrs.And still love visiting shop's,and going to conventions.I was watching the Freddy Corbin interview, and remember visiting his shop, and how cool it was inside with the church pews, and all the catholic iconography.Actually,Scott was working there at the time, and Chris Conn, and Jesse Tuesday. And there was a dog roaming around too.

  7. I checked out your site, and read your from Alabama. There's an American tattooer in Sasebo that i believe is also from Alabama that does real nice work. Here's his site.. Lucky13 Tattoo
  8. I wouldn't ask if their interested.Just go to the shop for a consultation, and get a feel if their interested, and to see how you vibe with them. You can bring some reference material if you have that too.I would also ask about how much it would cost. And how many sittings it would be to finish.Murray is also a good choice too.I would meet with a few artists even if i liked one artists style better than the other's.You may just hit it off with the tattooer who's style you didn't like as much.Although some people i talk with don't care about if they click with an artist..Some girl told me she puts her headphones on and just listens to music, and doesn't say a word to her artist.
  9. Check out TC @ Flying Tiger Tattoo I think his style is more traditional japanese, while Julio has his own style of doing japanese work. Larry Davis@ vanguard tattoo does real nice asian style work in Nyack,NY.I would make a consultation with some of these artists, and see which one you click with best.Sometimes i may like a tattooers work, but don't feel comfortable with them,so i won't be tattooed by them.
