  1. Im trying this as the moment for the first time, as my situation isn't exactly ideal for tattyzap healing. Left the original wrap on for about a day, gave it a good clean and applied the Tegaderm. It seems to be doing just fine, so far I'm amazed at how it feels, I can barely tell I have a fresh tattoo. I've had a little liquid build up, but not much. I may change the Derm tommorrow, as I didn't shave far enough around the outside of the tattoo, so in a few spots the edges of the derm are lifting where it tried to stick to a hairy part of my leg. Totally my fault, so far the only downside I can see is the cost, but it's completely worth it to me. We will see how the process goes from here though.
  2. I dunno if that's creepy or not @polliwog but if it makes you feel any better, I do it too. So maybe were both creeps..
  3. This happened yesterday. @cltattooing did an awesome job, had a really fun experience. Super fun shop, great people all around. Thanks again Carolyn! It was great to meet you and I'm super pumped with my tattoo! (Hopefully this works right. I suck with technology)
  4. That's rad, even cooler than I pictured
  5. Welcome! The picture I have in ny head of the corn on a tractor tattoo is pretty awesome, I've gotta say. I can't see how the real deal could be anything less
  6. This gives me hope, after this next tattoo in a few days I'm going to start working on my legs. I'm hoping it will be the same for me, and not all suck as much as the calf did. The session wasn't too bad, just healing.
  7. I agree with everything exume said. Also I would add, in my experience "all day" just means as long as it takes basically. They know they can devote as much time as needed to coming to the right image, and applying it, without worrying about the next appointment. Could take 3 hours, 6 hours, etc. That's my experience at least, if that makes any sense.
  8. Don't get me wrong, I have a shitty DIY tattoo that I still really like. Somebody paid a small debt to one of my friends by giving them a tattoo machine and power source, and as the most heavily tattooed person in the room with all of 3 tattoos, I was expected to set it up. Once I was slightly less sober, curiosity got the best of me. One of those things I just had to try once. As you can imagine it's pretty terrible, but there are actually a few straight lines. I agree though, the people in the article just took it way too far
  9. That, sir, may just be the most fitting reply I've ever seen.
  10. http://m.vice.com/read/no-class-diy-tattoos-fairplay-jesse-brocato-interview-678?utm_source=vicefbus Oh my fuck.
  11. FWIW I was wrong to blame other traffic. Dude was passing people in the center lane at an estimated 90-95 mph in moderate traffic. Lost control and was thrown, accident witnessed by a highway patrol officer.
  12. Amazing how many don't see the motorcycle, and don't care about the trucker. Just assume we can and will stop, or get out of the way. I still cannot fathom why people speed way up to pass me, right before the exit they want. Then jump in with only a few feet between us, and slam on the brakes to make the exit. Literally a dozen times a day usually.
  13. Drove past a fatal highway accident involving a biker just now :/ One of the most aggravating aspects of my job as a trucker is watching people do really dangerous and idiotic things all day, and not being able to do anything about it. Some of the stuff people do, litterally blows me away, they just dont taje it seriously. I'm not sure what caused this accident, the motorcycle was the only vehicle on scene, but it was in a spot that he couldn't have really wrecked on his own, something had to have caused it. Which means theres a 99% chance it could have been easily avoided. Such a shame.
  14. Sorry I forgot, here's a link to his site http://stewartrobson.com/
  15. Stewart Robson, at Frith Street Tattoo would certainly be worth the travel! I don't kniw much about Japanese, so he's the only one I know off the top of my head, but I know the man is an incredibly talented tattooer.
  16. Damn thats cool @Graeme ! I really love the detail in the eye socket
  17. Making a delivery in the outskirts of Chicago tomorrow, but I got here around noon, so now I'm waiting on a train to take me into the city, so I can go check out Chicago Tattoo Company. I can't try a walk in as I've already got an appointment in a few weeks, but hopefully I'll pick up a shirt and see some rad old flash. Should be fun!
  18. I never even knew there was a tattoo culture magazine... just knew the artist one was for professionals only. Is there plenty in there for folks who have very little understanding of the technical aspects, or do you kinda have to know to get anything out of it? (The artist version that is)
  19. Print that photo, and hand it to a good artist. Tell them you want something cool based off that
  20. @suburbanxcore I was in Downingtown, but just for the day. I'm a long haul trucker and I picked up a load from Pepperidge Farms there, drove through Westchester to get there. Nice little town
