Hello and welcome!
-
This^, exactly this.
-
That sounds like good news, thanks @Graeme. The inside of my arm is pretty much full right up to my armpit already and that's not been much bother. The swelling was pretty special though!

:o @polliwog

Yeah, what ^is^ the problem with armpits? Is it just the pain or is there Other Stuff? Hadn't occurred to me that it was anything but standard, if you will. We're getting round to that point, I think, but apart from assuming it'd be a bit sharp I'd not really thought about it, or thought to ask for that matter. I'll almost certainly not have most of my forearms done, nor backs of hands, neck, face or genitals. My toes are very short indeed so probably useless, who knows. I think palms (and maybe fingers) will be a must when I'm 'done'. Time will tell, I guess.

Young tattooers currently killin' it!

I think Bob Geerts is going places, he's 23 and still apprentice at the moment, but yeah, he's got soul. His instagram: Instagram -
Another one with a plainskinned partner here! I've just recently started getting tattooed and I only have 8 (all on the one upper arm) but plenty of plans for more. My husband loves and appreciates my tattoos almost as much as I do but it's just not his thing (yet?). I secretly find that quite pleasing, I think I like that being tattooed is my thing rather than our thing, mind you we do have the children, that surely is a grand collaboration ;)

Tegaderm/Saniderm/Tatuderm healing process
HettyKet replied to Bigboy67's topic in Tattoo After Care
I always have this and it does go away really quite quickly - in my case I'm certain that it's because I apply the 'derm when the area is still swollen. As the swelling does down the area of skin it's applied to shrinks so the 'derm and skin wrinkles. As long as I'm sure the skin is closed up I apply a thick layer of Vaseline once the washed tattoo is properly dried out and wrap with clingfilm (can't remember the American name - the clear food wrap stuff) for a couple of hours. My skin is stupidly dry though so it's always looking for an excuse to dry out and split. -

Got zapped again on Thursday and am happily 'derming away as usual - both tattoos are looking great but I've managed to lightly flay myself along one corner of the 'derm. Nice. Be careful when applying round corners, boys and girls. -

Oh, that must be really annoying @Cork. How did you apply it? I'm wondering if it was being stretched, rather than contracting as you moved. If you applied it with your legs straight it was doomed, I'm afraid. For it to move with you you need to apply it when in the position that streatches the area a much as is going to happen - so, it the case of an arse you want to be applying it when squatting, or while laying on your back with your knees drawn right up. Inelegant but necessary! -

Well, officially, (in the capacity it's designed for) it's to be used for 3 to 7 days before being removed / changed, so, yeah, a longer application or re-application is fine. In fact, 3 days really is the minimum it should be left on for. The only reason I like to change it after the first 3 days is, well, vanity. I want to be able to see my tattoo better  After re-applying I leave it on until you can see the fine skin flakes are separated and ready to peel, kind of like snakeskin I suppose. Usually takes another 2 or 3 days. - - - Updated - - - Oh that was to @Bigboy67 -

An extra application for 2 or 3 days is really is worth it, well, for me at least. There's no reason why you couldn't still re-apply if you wanted to @Bigboy67. -
Greg Orie is in Endhoven, the Netherlands. Flights from the UK to Endhoven are cheap though.

@Chap Hema do bathrobes all year round. Usually about 40 euros a pop and nice quality.

He's fabulous isn't he. Am very lucky!

Thank you! I'll look up the people I've not heard of before (am pretty new to all this). So far I've only been tattooed by the other Willem Jansen (one S, willem666 on instagram) but I've got a hell of a lot of skin left. Geniet er van morgen!

Hello and welcome! I'd be most interested to hear about the lesser known Dutch tattooists you've seen - I'm down in Noord Brabant but it's such a small country that nobody is far away.

@KBeee I tend to peel it off reasonably fast but certainly not super fast, usually in the shower with not-too-hot water. Did you hold / stretch the skin while you were peeling the -derm off? A bit like with waxing - I can imagine it could be pretty damned painful if you didn't! -
I don't suppose there is any more information about the 'girl' is there? I've seen this picture often but I'm yet to be convinced she's really one of Prof. Wagners / all his work. The sleeve length and use of bangles is certainly pretty typical of his circus work but a lot of the tattoos look really quite crude compared to what I'm used to seeing on his 'circus girls'.

Can't speak for stinkybutt, but I used -derm on my elbow recently and did indeed apply it when my elbow was fully bent. -
Bearded men + tattooed women = PASSION KILLERS!

Meh. Being hated on by the Daily Mail is usually a sign that one is doing something right. -
Urgh, was supposed to go in for my next session tomorrow but have come down with the horrid stomach bug that's doing the rounds. The children had it at the weekend and I was dead chuffed to have missed it - no such luck after all. Will probably be OKish tomorrow now (but still infectious, I presume). Have had to cancel and am now grumpy as well as ill. Oh, and the children are bouncing round the house like a pair of nutters. Great. Oh well, roll on next month.
-
Yeah, I think mine is going to have to be a spiderweb for the same reasons. I've finished having children but, well bodies change. (Idea stolen from Elizabeth Weinzirl - it looks to have served her well)

Oh yes, those are the closest I've seen yet to what I had imagined, thank you! Really, really lovey roses too. No chance of me getting over to the states though <sob> Get one for me while you're at it? - - - Updated - - - This has to be my favourite of his, I think. Prefer a more traditional coloring / stem, but still. Thanks again.

I like her men ever such a lot but her ladies ladies are often too stylized for my taste.
