  1. I've used both the tea-tree and peppermint liquid Dr. B's for new tattoos. Both worked out just fine. ALL ONE!
  2. I agree with @jimmyirish....great looking photo, awesome landscape, but wouldn't be something I'm interested in if it were translated literally to a tattoo. To me it looks very serpentine. How about a serpent, snake or dragon in water or turning into water with the same basic colors of the picture?
  3. I'll just leave this here: Pallbearer: Foundations of Burden | Advance | Pitchfork Their first album rules if you haven't heard it: Pallbearer
  4. Yes they are! I've been fortunate enough to be tattooed by him 3 times now: once at Aloha, once at Tattoo City SF and once at Spider Murphy's. This session we're just doing a little touch up work on a shin piece he did in March (you can see photos in the Squidpants thread). I've also got a little gap at the bottom of the calf that I might get him to put a little somethin-somethin...we'll see how much time we have.
  5. I've had the itch real bad lately...my last appointment was in April and next week is one of the busiest/most stressful weeks of the year for me at work. But the light at the end of the tunnel is the week after that: Back to Back appointments at Spider Murphy's for me (1 Part El Monga + 1 Part Theo Mindell) + My friend from NY is staying with us for the week + He and my wife also have appts on the second day at SM's (Monga and Paul Dobleman) TATTOOPARTY!!!!!!111!!
  6. I can't like this enough!! Great life choice IMO. @Mick Weder and @Graeme : Have you guys seen some of LM Knight's frogs? The coolest...http://lmknighttattoo.files.wordpress.com/2012/04/imageproxy-1.jpeg
  7. Not as nice as those Triumphs, but I've had this '96 KZ1000 CHP bike for about 2 years now. Was my daily rider for a minute after my wife and I moved, blah blah, long story. Didn't matter that I'd always ride in my mad-max style beat-to-shit leather that I've abused for the past 10+yrs or a beat-to-shit bike, I'd still get a wide berth on the highway. Now that I've got another bike that's more reliable for daily use and without a billion miles racked up, I've been toying with turning the KZ into a project bike. Just getting a little wild, y'know? But I've got equal parts motivation and equal parts "fuck it, I'm selling it"... ...Pretty sure that means I should get some sort of massive animal-battle tattoo to represent my inner conflict, ha!

@Gemini I second Hogg: Bryan Randolph is awesome! 2Spirit in SF is definitely worth checking out also, but I don't have any first-hand experience with them. Michael Bennett at FTW Tattoo in Oakland might also be up your alley. Good Luck!

Take your time, do your homework and save up if your second sentence is more important to you than the first. I know my first few tattoos have a lot of "charm" (read: they have awesome nostalgic associations but are pretty crappy) because of the conflicting ideals you've stated above...
  10. Although I haven't had my knees done (yet), I will say that Barcelona is a supremely walk-able city. Missing the opportunity to cruise around such an awesome place would probably be a bummer. Almost as much of a bummer as not stopping in to the beautiful Aloha Tattoos Barcelona. That place rules! Get the ol' knee done the day before you leave for home?
  11. Hi Phyllis, Here's a thread discussing exactly that: http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/tattoo-advice/1561-white-ink.html Good luck!
  12. Goddamn! The backpieces this month are AWESOME! Well done!
  13. I just have to echo the sentiments above....This thread rules. And is totally motivating! Can't wait to fill my sticks up some more!

  15. In the spirit of "fuck-it" I present my left leg. @gougetheeyes now we can feel weird together. Snake/torch by El Monga last summer at spider Murphy's Candle/Skull by El Monga March of this year at tattoo city Cattle Head by Stefan Johnsson Jan of last year at California electric Planning a panther on the knee at some point but it'll have to wait a bit. The other leg has some odds n ends on the thigh, but not enough coverage for me to feel it can hang in this thread yet!
  16. Hmmmm.... I did one foot at a time. Right foot was way worse than the left for some reason. When healing, they both felt like they had an extra layer of flesh on them, if that makes any sense. But I was up and at 'em the next day with no real issues (both times). My wife did both in one shot. She didn't seem to be phased by it, but she is usually pretty "tattoo tough". I'm not sure there's really a 'best' approach. @Mick Weder I've got my left inner-ankle bone pretty much covered. The application was pretty weird (bone-rattler) and it healed slow, but no more or less uncomfortable than anything else in that area. Good luck!
  17. My wide-glide on the right. Northern California coast providing the scenery.
  18. Caught them at bottom of the hill (with Acid King!!) in SF awhile back as part of a fund raiser/tribute for Alan Forbes. They ruled. Lager and Chips is a personal favorite of mine. That whole LP is sweeeet.
  19. Yes! I think I still have that Blatz/Filth split somewhere! Haven't thought about that in waaaay too long. Awesome!
  20. Thanks man! Yours is Capitol T.U.F.F! I remember seeing the pic you posted of the line work...I've been looking forward to seeing the final product! Mini-not-really-back-pieces forever!
  21. Determined to turn this month into a ridiculous rib piece battle.... Uncle Allan. Conspiracy Inc, Berlin. All healed up.
  22. Didn't have to, but I did a 6/7hr motorcycle ride the day after getting a knee-cap to ankle shin piece. Wrapped it with saniderm on my artists recommendation (which leaked all over...my socks/boots were pretty gross) which kept it pretty protected. It wasn't bad at all while riding, but standing up wasn't super fun after being seated for awhile.
  23. You'll be fine, people do it every day...no reason you can't either.
