Ok, I've decided on what I want to get on the 25th.. The sailor Jerry anchor.. I asked to change the the stars to the nautical stars and have him 'artistic liberty' as always! Stoked to see what he comes up with!!

A geisha girl would be cool too, they hold lots of meanings and can be symbolic for you as well.

But, I expect professional advice from my artist which this idiot received.. That being said, there are certain types of tattoos that none of the artists at the shop is go to will do simply because they will not stand the test of time and look like shit in a few years, example barcode tattoos.. They won't do them, period. In the four sessions I've been through I've witnessed two customers turned away under similar circumstances. One lady went to another shop, got the tattoo she wanted anyway then wrote an awful review on Google, the guys and lady who tattoo in the shop read it and had a hell of a laugh about and still were awarded 'Best in the Triangle'. I'd like to believe there's no way any artist in the shop go to would do this particular tattoo. I'm sure most if not all artists including mine have done questionable tattoos, but this is a new low and a shame.. I bet even Drake laughed and shrinks she's an idiot..

Awesome, Asheville is nice.. Had a gf that moved there in HS, I liked going there.. My artist actually worked up there at some point I believe.. I live just south of Raleigh.. I like NC.

I don't think I'm quite to the point or level with my artist to bring a gift, I do know stuff he's into, we always talk the entire session, but after only four sessions it maybe a little odd??? I do tip, 20%-25% depending on the piece/price but never less then 20%.. He's never charged me what I was told he charged hourly and the 'hourly' rate seems to be going down even so I try and tip better.. Sorry if its off topic but am I tipping well enough?!

Music... I like hardcore music.. Rock, Metal, Rap, doesn't matter.. Has to be ruff..

Also I know lotion, Tattoo Goo etc will make them look fresh when applied, but what I'm driving at is there a way to keep them this way w/o using lotion a lot.

I looked through the after care threads and didn't see any about long term care. My oldest piece isn't much more than a year old and I still hit it with a little auqaphor during the course of healing the others. When I told my artist this he kind of chuckled and said something like that'll keep'm moist and didn't advise for or against it. So my question is, is this good? Bad? Make zero difference over the life of the tattoo? I ask because my tattoos are pretty vivid or sharp IMO and I'd like them to stay that way for as long and as much as possible. I mean I get it they fade a bit over time etc but they cost hard earned money and if there's a way to ensure they stay vivid I'd like to know ;) also if I'm just being a NewB I'd like to know :)
