  1. Thanks everyone! Nope, I don't think I'm going to get any for a while, need to save some money. I have a bunch of ideas though.
  2. I'm going to go through my whole process. This is what my tattoo looked like immediately after got home, about an hour after I got the tattoo. As I was instructed I took off the plastic wrap, and washed it with a tiny amount of soap while gently massaging it. I used very hot water to kill germs and wash off as much stuff as possible. Then I used a tiny bit of aquaphor and re-wrapped it in ordinary plastic wrap. The next morning I was thinking about the how much my last tattoo scabbed, how much it hurt to stand up, and how I have heard red can take months to heal completely. I decided the Saniderm I bought was worth trying. I washed the tattoo with soap again while massaging it, and I thoroughly rinsed it in very cold water to reduce swelling as much as possible before applying the bandage. I applied the Saniderm. My tattoo dripped a lot and a lot of liquid collected under the Saniderm. The next day I peeled it off, washed my leg again, and applied another sheet of Saniderm. As I said before, I believe this was responsible for a huge reduction in pain and swelling. This morning I felt some tingling when I stood up to get out of bed, but there's no pain at all, and no swelling. It's been about 4 days since I got the tattoo. I took a long walk this morning and my tattoo started to itch. I decided it was probably due to sweat collecting under the bandage so I removed it, and took the photos that I'm attaching to this post. I have a photo of my leg before taking off the bandage, immediately after, and what it looks like after I used Aquaphor. Now that my skin is bare there is no itching. When I took it off some skin and ink came off with it, but nothing major. I washed the tattoo without soap and put some Aquaphor on it to prevent the next application of Saniderm from sticking too much, as the Saniderm website recommends. Other than the dead skin that still needs to peel off, my tattoo seems practically healed to my eyes, but I'm going to apply another piece of Saniderm when I'm done with this post to be on the safe side. So far this is going really well and I'll probably use a product like Saniderm on any future tattoos I get.
  3. It wasn't that big, my window wasn't maximized.
  4. @Chemical Burn That image is so large I have to scroll to see the whole thing. At first I thought it said ART, and I though, "that's not so bad." Then I scrolled to the right.
  5. I'm using Saniderm on the large rose I got on my lower leg 2 days ago. I'm not feeling the excruciating pain my calf kitsune lead me to expect from leg tattoos. Yesterday I felt some pain when I stood up, but not to the same degree. Today, the pain isn't there, only some tingling. I think this is because the Saniderm prevents scabs from forming, and the scab is the major source of the pain. Usually I forget the tattoo is even there. I'll update as it heals more.
  6. Anyone else get REALLY tired after a tattoo? I just slept most of the past 12 hours and I'm still exhausted.
  7. I remember I freaked out and made a thread about how my tattoo was dripping a little tiny bit. Well the tattoo I got yesterday is dripping like crazy. I decided that's actually a good thing, it means the wound isn't dried out.
  8. Just got this a couple hours ago by Noah Moore at the Torchbearer. :D

  10. I almost like the look of some watercolor tattoos, but what I don't understand is why they are always done with random splotches. Why aren't there any watercolor tattoos that look more well designed and color within the lines, like this or this? I think that might look cool, but it seems nobody's tried it.
  11. This is my own damn fault but I'm up at 3:30 am reading random crap on the internet when I should be asleep because I'm getting a tattoo tomorrow. My sympathies go out to Colored Guy and everyone else who has an actual problem.
  12. I think those red marks are broken capillaries. Those never go away unless you get some kind of laser treatment. I have a tiny one on non-tattooed skin from shaving.
  13. My first tattoo was 5 hours at a busy convention. I'm normally not comfortable with being scrutinized by a bunch of strangers, but I was in so much pain there wasn't any room for anxiety in my brain. I also thought of it more as people watching a tattoo being created, not watching me. Tomorrow I'm going to get my second tattoo, I'm going to the Torchbearer to get a rose by Noah Moore.
  14. My issue with laser hair removal is, no matter how many times I do it, it doesn't seem to work at all. Even people who get results usually have to do it for years.
  15. I was diagnosed with autism also. I never though that would get in the way of tattoos, other than the fact that I'm more sensitive to pain and physical sensation in general than most people. I'm not entirely sure I was diagnosed correctly, but either way I'm socially awkward. Being stabbed with a needle for hours is a great excuse for any eccentricities you may have. It would be weird to be entirely normal in that situation. Also I think tattoo people are most accepting of differences than most.
  16. I have one tattoo and I'm planning another one this week. I arranged both over email (both live far away) and neither of them asked for a deposit. I have a question, am I supposed to volunteer a deposit? I figured if they wanted one they would request it. It would be hard to do over the internet though unless they take Paypal. If it's a local and I see them in person should I offer a deposit?
  17. These days the word "hipster" is used so much it's lost meaning, but it's still a real subculture. I briefly made the mistake of going to a fancy art school and I ran into quite a few hipsters. What I found disturbing is the fact that many of them seemed to care more about looking like artists than they cared about art. I don't dislike every hipsterish person and I try not to judge people by superficial things, but I totally understand how hipster came to be such a popular insult.
  18. So I heard back from Moore. I told him what kind of rose I want and showed him examples of his own work to explain what I mean. Like, I told him I'm interested in a flatter style with long leaves. Do you think I'm being too picky? I know they work better with some artistic freedom, but taking direction is part of the job, and I don't know how much is too much. On my first tattoo I didn't tell him to change anything, although now I kind of wish the other back leg was visible, but it's not a big deal.
  19. Aw, that sucks. The reason I'm worried is because he was answering before, until I said hadn't decided what kind of flower I want. Later I emailed him telling him I decided on a rose and no response. Probably just a coincidence though.
  20. I could try that. He's going to the opening of the Torchbearer so that's when I was planning to get it done.
  21. Trying to get a rose from Noah J. Moore but haven't gotten a response for about a day, wondering how much longer I should wait before sending another email.
  22. I stumbled upon this when I was searching for stupid tattoos (no offense). NSFW Pin by Steeler Girl on Stupid Stupid Tattoos | Pinterest
  23. Anyone have experience with varicose veins / spider veins? I'm considering getting my next tattoo to cover some minor, blue varicose veins right below my knee. I've been told varicose veins can change shape over time and distort the tattoo. Would it matter what style the tattoo is? I'm thinking of getting a flower by Ron Henry Wells.
  24. I drove over 5 hours the day after getting mine. It wasn't pleasant but the real pain didn't start until I got home. For a while the transition from sitting to standing was difficult.
  25. What kind of bump is it? If there's no red or other discoloration it's not an infection. I still have a little scab/bump from the tattoo I got 2 months ago. I expect it to fall off without causing problems.
