  1. me too,it's all about comfort,I live in a place that's hot in the summer too,Sacramento Ca, where do you live ? and right on to the dead shirt, back in the 70's & 80's I did about 75 dead shows. LOL I think anyway ! LOL
  2. LOL that's not me ! !!! LOL I don't even own a dress shirt or tie or slacks ! my version of getting dressed up is a button up shirt and long pants ! LOL . I wear shorts and tees about 11 months a year ! even for work,I must have been a UPS driver in a past life. too bad I have to wear shoes for work though :( no shoes allowed any other time ! sandals only ! I think I am permanently lost in island time. ya,I use a lot of sun block
  3. IMO that's not gonna happen,if anything being kept out of the sun a tattoo will remain brighter and better looking. I have both ankles tattooed and wear socks for work and they still look great,I think the sun will do more damage to tattoos than any piece of clothing, and like was said,a tattoo can't be rubbed off,or damaged, or degraded by straps or clothing.
  4. LOL awesome ! what a great blend ! love his look.
  5. I like the tribal/water/wave one,it's bold,colorful and nicely done IMO.
  6. I thought my ass was the worst spot until I got one on my lower inner thigh ! ouch
  7. what I do is for the first 3 or 4 days(3 times a day),I get in a warm shower and clean my hand with this an antimicrobial soap and then apply the soap to the tattoo and scrub the tattoo with the palm of my hand, that gets rid of the oozing plasma and keeps it clean and works great for my healing. and IMO the hot compress would be painful. try an Anti-inflammatory OTC like ibuprofen or naproxen ,and it would help if you can stay off your feet and elevate your legs.Instead of a hot compress maybe try icing it,that would feel a lot better than heat.
  8. ya,I always tip as well,no matter what the artist is charging per hour.
  9. well, you don't want to submerse the tattoo in water for the first 3 or 4 days, washing it off quickly is good, but don't submerse it.
  10. I like to do smart car tipping, similar to cow tipping, but way better.
  11. we have been using saran wrap for a long time, seems IMO to work just fine for the first 24 to 36 hours or so. a little common sense, goes a long way,and I might add that in 29 years of being tattooed and using saran,I have never had an infection.
  12. I love palmers cocoa butter for sure !
  13. . artist> https://www.facebook.com/artistabby/?fref=nf . she is an amazing pencil artist.
  14. I take showers right away after getting a tattoo, but I don't submerse it in any type of water for at least the first week. tattoos are forever, and so are the oceans. I get tattoos on my Maui & Kauai vacations, but I get them on the last day there.
  15. welcome ! and that sounds like quite the adventure ! . . . and remember one other thing about us ! .
  16. welcome Jared ,I am near you up here in the Sacramento area.
  17. me too,pretty much , , "the more people I meet,the more I like my dog",,,,,,,,unknown author. - - - Updated - - -
  18. wow, that's a lot of nice tattoos, crazy short amount of time, pretty cool Adam.
  19. eat sugars,I eat Skittles and MM's before and during my tattoo,as well as a good meal right before and pre-hydrate the day before and during the tattoo with water. . my mix of M&M's and Skittles works great for me,and yes, standing up right after a tattoo is always weird, you are endorphin high at that moment, after a long tattoo like that,I grab my water, relax, breath for a few minutes before anything else.hell, after a 6 hour session I can't even count money ! LOL
  20. this /\ and those 4 words are so good to hear, "looks like we're done".
  21. I don't have any back work done,but this was a 9 hour one shot,and I made it through,a little endorphin high,but I made it,like was said,if you have your back done,you will be fine with a side/rib piece.
  22. looks very nice,I like it,I don't usually see child portraits that I like .
  23. so excited ! after months of waiting,I finally nailed down an appopintment May 11th on Maui with Mo'o Tatau | Polynesian-style tattoos at Maui Tattoo & Body Piercing Shop - Blue Hawaii Tattoo Lahaina, Maui to get a hand tapped piece ,looks like a great last day of vacation .
  24. since we're doing ages,I should add, I'm an old guy at 56. and yes,I would get tattooed every month if I had room on my body and funds to pay for it.
