    Introduction

welcome ! I'm 57 and still getting tattooed as often as I can ! just got this one a week ago !
  9. I used to scab a little, the last two tattoos I have had done I used cocoa butter and anti-microbial washing several times a day,but I kept the butter on lightly 24/7 for the first 5 or 6 days, and they healed perfectly,no scabbing,I get peeling, but no scabbing, after the first 5 or 6 days I go to Aveeno. . at night I lightly saran wrap the area and tape when sleeping so it would stay on and not soil the sheets. I use small towels on my armchair to watch TV,etc, etc I agree the color does tend to scab more than black/gray
  10. I've done that before,it turns out pretty good ! super tender.
  11. I gotta say IMO stars are way overdone, kind of like Duane johnson tribal, but if that's what you want, find the right artist in your area and tell them your idea and let them make a design for you.
  12. LOL well I didn't mean over do it,all I was trying to say was that getting tattooed is a very intimate experience and we shouldn't stink of body odor and should have good personal hygiene,no I don't glob on the cologne, but a quick spritz of AXE is a good thing IMO. not sure about you,but I like the "you smell good" compliments from hair cutters and tattooers that I get.
  13. tattoos go through many stages while healing, and they take months to heal, they will never look like the day you had it put on,EVER again.I have both knees and both wrists and both elbows covered and they do not look any different than my other tattoos.even after years, after the healing is done, 1)keep it out of the sun or use sunblock forever. 2)keep daily lotion like aveeno on them forever.
  14. I would like to add, turn off the sound on your phone "MUTE" it ! and NO whining aloud ! go alone, eat good before, and like sighthound said, take a shower and use plenty of deodorant & cologne/perfume,
  15. repost because the photo link is broken.
  16. wasn't his original post was quoted in cltattooing's post ? (unless she edited her quote ?)
  17. I like the idea of a tattoo community, here and in the real world,I do feel a brotherhood/sisterhood connection with other tattooed people,I am an outgoing person and I enjoy interacting with other tattooed people in the real world, some tattooed people are open and receptive to conversation, some aren't. either way, yes,I believe there is a connection here and in the real world amongst tattooed people. But at the same time I do welcome questions from and conversation with plainskins as well. and in the real world I enjoy the stares and attention I get from being "different" because of my tattoos.
  18. my wife is not a member here yet,so I am posting this for her, she's my low tech babe,I will see if she wants to join here, she loves tattooes but she doesn't really do online forums at all, she has an appointment with Alycia Harr at Classic Tattoo in Grass Valley for a hummingbird & flower piece on her right lower leg,on October 10th.
  19. personally I didn't think my knees and elbows were all that bad.My inner thighs were by far worse than my elbows and knees.Even the tops of both my hands were not too bad.

IMO this is not a friendly reply, she is a friend of mine and I would appreciate you not talking to her in this disrespectful manner.
