Dan replied to rdinak's topic in General Tattoo Discussion

How long AFTER that beach vacation can you get a tattoo?
Dan replied to poopsiekittens's topic in Initiation
yes,the only thing that would affect getting a tattoo after a vacation is if you get sun burned, just keep a good 50spf on the area the tattoo is going on and you will be fine.I don't like the sun either, but tanning won't hurt anything,I am the guy on Maui beaches with 50spf and sitting under an umbrella. Jacksonville Imperial Tattoo & Art Festival

wow,quite the lineup of artists ! -
sounds logical to me, that skin on the back thigh is pretty tender, and they do stay sore and tender for a while sometimes, depends on the artist's method who did it and where it is on the body, and you are basically sitting on it a lot. keep it clean and put Aveeno on it a couple times a day.

like was said it looks pretty good, and also I like the way it peeks out when you have a t-shirt on.

I like the idea of one of those flowers on a knee.

that's what my wife said at first too !

In this thread, we commiserate about healing our fresh tattoos.
Dan replied to Pugilist's topic in Tattoo After Care
I have used this many many times with great success https://saniderm.com/ the secret to using it is to let the tattoo heal for the first 20 hours or so and then apply the saniderm, leave it on for 5 or 6 days and BAM ! it's good to go. -
Great Lakes Walk-Up (Chicago)
Dan replied to Gingerninja's topic in LST Get Togethers & Tattoo Conventions
ya,it would be a cool one to go to for sure. -
at least it looks pretty light already. should be no problem for the right artist IMO.
-
IMO as long as you have earned the right to have hand and neck tattoos then there are no other rules, the only thing IMO is that your first tattoos should never be hand or neck tattoos. I have both hands and both sides of my neck tattooed, do whatever you and the artist think looks good to you and on you.

I think there is another scenario, like what my wife and myself evolved through, when we got together 12 years ago she liked my tattoos(I had a lot then),and she had zero tattoos, she also said back then that she would never get one, well grandkids came a long and she learned a lot more about tattoos and saw the fun I was having and she started getting them on her own free will, I was fine with her not having any or having them, I love her either way. I'll take her anyway I can get her. it is cool that we share another common interest now though IMO.I love the fact that we experience it together much of the time.(like both getting tattoos at the same convention)

let's meet up again. -
I like the stripes on the board, it's a surfboard and it should look like one IMO

I needed a cover up on my arm, and it took me a few months and several consultations before I found the right artist that said "sure ! no problem, I can do that". she said she was a cover up specialist . After that I did some more research on her and realized she was the one, all the artists I spoke to before that didn't want to or didn't think it could be done, after all was said and done, she did a great job and I am super happy with the cover up, you need to be diligent and patient about the process, do your homework and research.

nice ! that's on my short list for sure to add to my collection.
